Sitting on a huge Quest library and an XREAL Founder Pass — which one do I actually buy?

Here's my shelf: Quest 3 (daily driver — FitXR, Beat Saber, and about 150 other games), a Quest 3S gathering dust at my mom's, XREAL Air glasses (movies + Steam Deck screen), and a Magic Leap that's a paperweight since the shutdown. So I've been burned by a dead platform before, and I take ecosystem longevity seriously.

I'm holding one of the 2,000 XREAL Founder Priority Passes — day-one shipping plus the Founder's Edition Aura, launching ~November at $1,500.

What I actually do:

•

VR gaming, a lot. My library is deep: Asgard's Wrath 2 (currently playing it in 1-hour face-brick installments), RE4, both Walking Deads, Ghosts of Tabor, Onward, Contractors, Pavlov, Population: One, Batman: Arkham Shadow, Metro Awakening, Moss 1 & 2, Demeo, Walkabout... you get it. My Quest 3 fatigues me out after about an hour and I want longer sessions.

•

Read a ton of webtoons and manga. This is daily, hours at a time.

•

AR in daily life stuff: floating recipes while cooking, plant info in my grow room (I run a microgreens YouTube channel), a drawing reference overlay for learning anime art.

•

I want Muse as my assistant, not Gemini — though I know the Aura's system assistant is Gemini's seat.

The case for the Aura: it's the only thing that does stuff I can't already do. Optical see-through AR, Android XR + full Play Store, 70° FOV. It'd be my reading device, my around-the-house device. And three of its confirmed launch titles (Demeo, Chess Club, Cubism) are already in my Quest library with cross-play.

The case for waiting on Meta VR Glasses ($1,300, spring 2027): my entire 150+ game library carries over, my Quest 3 controllers pair with it, and 100g vs 515g transforms every long session. But it's 6 months out, no pre-orders, no reviews — and I'd be buying a third Meta device for a library I already own twice.

The Magic Leap experience has me weighing platform risk too — Android XR being Google's platform (not XREAL's) is a point in the Aura's favor there.

Right now I'm leaning toward sequencing it: redeem the pass and get the Aura next month (it's the time-sensitive one), live with it for six months, then decide on Meta's glasses from real reviews instead of guessing. Talk me out of it?

Name change at work

I talked to my boss and HR yesterday; they were incredibly accepting of my new name and said they'd get me an updated badge soon. My boss asked about my preferred pronouns and was very kind about it. I sent out an email to my coworkers about the name after work, and they were also very accepting. In a funny bit of irony, my fiancée's sister accidentally set my old work badge on fire; it was next to a candle she lit, and a bag caught fire and spread to my badge, ruining it. Today's my first day at work with my updated name. It's been going great with my coworkers, but the participants are a bit more challenging. There are a lot of people I work with, and they all have developmental disabilities and have been used to my deadname for almost a year now, so updating them all with my new name will take time and work.

Very affirming and dysphoric day

So I just hit my 4 months on HRT on the 17th, and just got a new haircut, eyebrows done and some new affirming clothes to wear, and I've been feeling really good about myself the past few days. For context, I work at a nonprofit that aids developmentally challenged adults as a job coach, and this morning I went to pick one such participant up for work, whom I've never coached before. I show up to pick them up, and another participant, an older woman, comes up to me and asks, "Who are you?" She grabs my badge (which still has my deadname listed), looks at me, and asks, "Are you a man or a woman?" I'm quite pleased she asked because it's the first real time someone has at least questioned as opposed to just assuming I'm a male. I answered, "I'm a woman" She immediately responded, "You're not a woman, you're a man", to which I didn't really have a good response for her, so I just left with the participant I'm taking to work.

When I got to the job site with the participant, he asked me, "Are you a dude or a woman?" Again, I responded with "I'm a woman", and for the rest of the shift he kept going "yes ma'am", and referring to me as "girl", which was super affirming. I had to use the bathroom during the shift and went into the men's room to avoid any issues while not at my job, and he asked: "Why are you using the men's room if you're a woman?" And I had to try to explain to him that I'm on hormones and not yet comfortable using the women's restroom in public places to avoid scrutiny. It at least feels good to know I'm at a point where people are questioning it instead of just assuming I'm a man. Today's the first day at work I've been openly questioned about my gender, and it felt really good to be ma'amd at work, I've been holding off getting my name updated at work until more time for the hrt to take effect kicked in but it definitely seems like it's becoming harder to boymode at work and that I should get my name updated and start presenting more.

Maintaining weight

At the beginning of last year I weighed around 170 lbs. Over the past year I've lost alot of weight getting down to 114 lbs. Im 5 foot 6 and have maintained that for the past 6 months or so. Ive noticed recently am upwards trend in my breakfasts to keep me full. The new regular breakfast is a packet of 100 calorie oatmeal with chia seeds, flaxseed, wheat bran, wheat germ, pbfit, whey protein powder, cocao powder, a banana amd cinnamon with a bowl of cottage cheese with .25 of an apple and a small purple sweet potato. My lunch is normally a salad, todays is a beet and orange salad with walnuts amd feta, and veggies with a bit of hummus. Dinners have normally been getting pretty large as well. Last nights was a chicken sandwich with half a sweet potato, roasted veggies and tomato and kale salad. My trend has been going up towards 118-120 lbs. Im just concerned it'll become a habit leading to further weight gain and i want to keep it at a healthy level. For added context I drink 60-80 Oz of water per day, no soda, no candy and no snacks and roughly 15-25k steps per day

First day going out fully dressed up

Ive been slowly wearing some of my new tops and hair clip to work but I haven't really been adding any makeup or wearing any skirts or more femme bottoms with it. Today I decided to go all out with my attire for some errands. I feel quite cute 😊 definitely nervous though.

Got clocked at work today

So today at work was pretty eventful. I got a new top yesterday and decided to wear it to work with my new hair clip, though i haven't come out to anyone at work yet (only 2 months on hrt and just kinda going with the flow) while on lunch one of our participants came up to me and asked "should I call you Brian or refer to you as a new name?" It threw me off for a sec but I ended up telling her my new name (Farrah) and said it'd be okay to start calling me that instead. I figured this outfit was more femme than my normal work attire but I wasn't expecting it to be quite so obvious from an outside view. Makes me a bit nervous as im still so early in my journey but also really excited, and everyone at work is super kind and supportive.
