Stuck between this phone and the Air. I really love the pink color (🤣). People are scaring me away from the Air and I just adore the simplicity of this phone… battery life is a big factor for me but I don’t care THAT much, as long as it’s not draining for no reason. I’m a very casual user.. Thoughts?

Hi everyone!

Figured it was time to move on from my 17 Pro. I don’t necessarily have a use for any of the “pro” modeled cameras, it feels like a brick in my pocket with most cases, I find looking at the wide camera plateau to be highly unflattering and unpleasant, etc.

The AT&T guy definitely sold me into something that was above what my life necessitates, when I was originally going for a 17 base model, and quite frankly, I’m wanting to trade it in early for something more fitting to who I am as a person… it just feels wrong, lol

I WFH. I have an iPad and a MacBook Neo for media consumption, as well as a PC for anything else. I sometimes doomscroll on social media, I spend a fair amount of time on Reddit, rarely make long phone calls, send a few back and forth texts throughout the day, nothing crazy. I’m not someone that is glued to their iPhone 24/7, and I’ve definitely never had a use for the 0.5 lens or anything special on my camera aside from its daily use, for that matter.

I was so excited to discover the iPhone Air because I miss having a big screen (used to own the 16 PM) but on most days it was a bit too large for my liking, which is why I inevitably went down to the Pro series. It seems to be in that happy medium territory. I, however am definitely being put off from what was initially going to be an excitable purchase due to TikTok warriors and techy guys telling me that the speaker and battery make the phone nearly unusable, “when I could just pay $100 more and get a base 17”. (There’s a reason that base 17 is not my first choice, for all the reasons I want to choose the air.)

There are so many mixed opinions on this phone that I can’t see straight anymore, and I reaaaaaally want to make the right choice here. 🫠 it’s not that much of a commitment because my plan allows me to upgrade at no extra cost whenever I want, so if 6 months pass and I hate it, there’s no harm. But I’d rather get it right the first time.

Don’t get me wrong. Terrible batteries infuriate me since I’ve had experiences in the past where my devices drain after hardly using them (cough cough iPad Air 5…) but I truly cannot see how someone that is as casual of a user as me is going to suffer with this simple, beautiful phone. Basically, I don’t want to purchase it if it’s going to drain for literally no reason after not having done anything to warrant it; I just want something that gets me through the day without me having to plan shit around my phone not being charged, if that makes sense, lol. The speaker is the least of my worries, among other things I’ve heard complaints about…but some people have tried to tell me that it’s difficult to even hear phone calls?!?! Lol I can’t see Apple genuinely trying to release such a shitty phone, otherwise nobody would buy this thing, so hoping to gain some perspective here and see a little straighter.

I currently have a 17 pro and hate everything about it. I’m going back down to a 16 pro max, the phone I originally had (got rid of it in march.)

I had done the iOS 26 update on both of these phones and HATE it. My hope is that the new one will come with 18.7 already on it.

Will the phone run okay if I choose to keep it on iOS 18.7 for as long as possible?

My Roblox account is about to move from the 13–15 age group into the 16–17 age group…. I currently have a group chat in the Chat tab with two friends whose accounts are in the 13–15 age group.

When my account moves to 16–17, will I still be able to message them in our existing group chat? I know Roblox generally allows communication between similar/adjacent age groups, but I’m not sure whether that also applies to direct messages and group chats in the Chat/Party tab, or only to in-game chat??

I’m mainly worried that once my account moves to 16–17, our existing group chat will become unavailable or locked. Has anyone had their account move from 13–15 to 16–17 and know what happens?

I had originally made this into a sub point in a similar post but realised that this deserved its own spot for discussion.

The Gryffindor epidemic is unfortunate but true.

It generally sections off three ways:

1. The people who are genuinely Gryffs.

2. The people out there that are genuinely other houses but feel “uncool” being another house because there’s less representation, merchandise, or more shame towards certain shared traits.

3. And then we can’t forget the massive influx of people who get Gryffindor on the quizzes, or are told they are a Gryffindor by a fan who absolutely does not understand the psychology behind each house, and are horribly misled because they are terribly made and typecast millions of people into four very obvious variations of each question.

Yes, you are only a Gryffindor if you want to be remembered as “The Bold”, and if you opt to fight a troll with your bare hands with no critical thinking skills being used first, don’t worry. *And you are absolutely NOT a Gryffindor if you don’t find it appealing to jump off of a cliff or out of a plane completely unhelped and unprotected, how could you think such a thing?*

Then it leads to either not detecting true Gryffindors at their core, (because NO, you do not need to be a daredevil or have a backbone of steel to belong in this house) or massively misrepresenting people due to such great generalising on quizzes and media.

I could go on for hours. This especially can lead into Slytherin. It is made abundantly clear that even JK Rowling has a dislike towards them in general with how the Slytherins are presented on the Wizarding World website.

“Most notable Slyths are Bellatrix Lestrange and Draco Malfoy!” Not saying there are any objectively “likeable” Slytherins, but you’re not exactly encouraging house pride by telling people they’re like these awful, despicable people, and then proceeding not to explain that these houses are not a one-size fits all.

Then it descends once again into people avoiding their true house and claiming another out of shame.

I can hardly STAND the quizzes online. It is so clear on each question which makes it easier to cook or assimilate a certain result, even if it’s something your subconscious is doing.

Hi everyone! This is such a wonderful community. :)

My entire life, I’ve been a very loose non-denominational Christian. It’s always been common for me to fall in and out of my relationship with God, go long stretches of time without praying, etc. I was lukewarm in the sense of practicing the religion and was also unsure of my beliefs growing up. I’m grateful I have a family who very much encourages spiritual autonomy and is supportive of us embarking on our own journeys to find the faith we identify with best while still keeping us God-centered.

I also will say that I made a consistent effort to find a non denominational church to go to to maintain my relationship with God. Yet conversely, I am solemn in my worship. I view it as something sacred to my heart. Soooo, personally, I did not jive well with the concert-style, jumping, screaming, strobe light churches that predominately serve the non denoms of the South… I had admittedly reached a point where I felt like I was about to give up on searching.

Here’s where everything changed for me- I am feeling exceptionally called to the Catholic Church in a VERY unfamiliar spiritual way. Most of my friends are Catholic, so I’m part of a large Catholic community circle- I ended up getting invited to a graduation ceremony preceded by mass for a hybrid Catholic high school she attended. Long story short, I was deeply touched by mass and I ended up going for a second time this morning with another family that is close to me.

I absolutely love everything about it and I am so intrigued by the faith. I love the utter peace during mass, the order and process of everything in and of itself- it’s straightforward, touching to the heart, and I am already feeling a difference in my life, soul, heart and mind after only having gone twice. I feel so renewed and refreshed afterward and it’s truly such a miraculous feeling for me, as opposed to whenever I would leave a mega church service feeling overwhelmed, off put and out of place.

In summary I truly feel like the Catholic faith is for me and I’m wanting to know more. My mom is completely supportive of this and I just ordered a Catholic bible off of Amazon to hopefully study more, and I’m going to try to pray the rosary tonight! My friend explained it to me and her family also hosts monthly rosary gathering potlucks— so if I do decide to go through with the conversion, I’ll have dozens and dozens of people to go to church with, to guide me and to support me in my faith.

Just wanted to share. I feel so convicted in such an eerie way, it really is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. Bless you all! ❤️

so I thought this guy was a Scorpio for 2 years (just knowing his birthday, which is Oct 23) until today, when i found out he was born around 12:45 AM….making him a libra… which is a gigantic plot twist for me haha.😭

i’m having trouble finding out when the sun went into scorpio on that day in 2010. some sources say it was still in libra at the time of his birth, others in scorpio. if anyone knowledgeable can help me find this out that would be amazing- so confused!!!🙏🏻
