Kids scratch ₹5.04 crore Ferrari while playing, owner sues parents after ₹95 lakh repair estimate

A Ferrari 488 GTB owner in Kunming, China, has filed a civil lawsuit after four neighbourhood children allegedly used his parked supercar as a playground, leaving it covered in deep scratches and even cracking the front bumper.

The car, worth around ₹5.04 crore, reportedly suffered damage across the hood, roof, windows, tail lights, and fenders. Repair costs are estimated at nearly ₹95 lakh.

According to reports, the owner tried settling the matter with the children's parents, but negotiations broke down after they reportedly offered only around ₹4.75 lakh in compensation and no apology. The owner has now taken the matter to court to recover the full repair costs.

Delhi plans to ban new petrol two-wheelers from 2028. Didn't we just learn a lesson from the 15-year vehicle chaos?

Delhi is reportedly planning to stop registration of new petrol bikes and scooters from 2028 as part of its push towards EV adoption.

Honestly, I understand the intention. Delhi's pollution problem is serious and the government needs long-term solutions. But after what happened with the recent 15-year-old vehicle ban, shouldn't policymakers be more careful before announcing another major restriction?

The 15-year rule created massive confusion, public backlash and eventually had to be rolled back because implementation on the ground wasn't practical. Many people depend on their vehicles for daily commuting and livelihood.

A few concerns:

Two-wheelers are the most affordable mode of transport for middle-class families and students.

Small dealerships, mechanics and businesses connected to petrol two-wheelers could be heavily affected.

EV infrastructure and charging networks still aren't equally accessible to everyone.

Battery replacement costs and resale value remain concerns for many buyers.

When a large state like Delhi introduces something, other states often follow. Policies that work in Delhi may not necessarily work everywhere else.

Instead of outright bans, wouldn't it make more sense to:

• Offer stronger EV incentives.

• Improve charging infrastructure first.

• Let consumers transition gradually.

• Encourage cleaner fuels and hybrids during the transition period.

I'm not anti-EV at all. EVs are clearly the future. But forcing change before the ecosystem is fully ready could end up hurting consumers and businesses more than helping the environment.

What do you think? Is a 2028 ban on new petrol bikes a necessary step, or is Delhi moving too fast?

Someone told IIT Madras Director that Reddit says BS programs are diluting the IIT tag

A BS Degree student recently asked the IIT Madras Director about a criticism often seen on Reddit.

The student said that many redditors online claim IIT Madras and IIT Ropar are "diluting the IIT tag" by introducing relatively easy-to-enter BS and AI programs.

The Director's response?

«"They're jealous of you. Don't worry."»

Thought it was an interesting answer. Whether one agrees or disagrees, it's rare to hear such a direct response from an IIT Director.

What do you think? Are these online degree programs expanding access to quality education, or do they actually dilute the IIT brand?

She proved her point again

People are so busy making jokes and trying to look cool in the comments that they forget there's a real human being behind the screen.

Whether you agree with her or not, recording someone without consent and turning them into a meme is wrong. She's not harming anyone she's simply living her life. The amount of hate and obsession over someone else's identity says more about the commenters than it does about her.

He says EVMs can be hacked with 3 syntax of python...

Standalone EVMs use dedicated microcontrollers with firmware typically written in Embedded C or Assembly, not Python. More importantly, the software is stored in one time programmable or masked ROM chips, meaning once the code is burned into the chip, it cannot simply be modified, overwritten, or remotely updated.

Also, people saying everything can be hacked miss an important distinction: an EVM can only be compromised by physically tampering with its hardware. And these machines are designed to detect such tampering. In Indian EVMs, opening or altering critical components breaks seals, triggers failures, and the machine becomes unusable rather than continuing to work with modified code.

Python isn't even suitable for this kind of low-level hardware firmware. These systems are intentionally kept offline, non-networked, and extremely limited in functionality to reduce attack surfaces.

Saying EVMs are programmed in Python and can be hacked in 3 seconds is like saying your calculator runs GTA 6 because both have buttons
