Phone connecting when I'm not using car

I have original aa wireless in one car and aa wireless 2 plus in another. Both are plugged in for android auto.

Both cars are parked in driveway in my house. When I am in the house and my wife takes either car my phone trys to automatically connect and I'm disconnected from the WiFi in the house.

I'm using a one plus 13 on android 16.Is there any way of phone only connecting when I'm driving the car and not connecting when I am in house and wife drives the car?

All Weather Mats 3 Pieces

As per Heading

Have a 2020 E Niro and looking for a 3 piece rubber mat similar to the below

https://weathertechshop.eu/en/car-protection/trim-to-fit-floor-mat/

This is just a universal one and not specifically for E Niro. So dont want to mess about having to cut/ trim edges to get it to fit. Trying to find stockist in Europe that would fit the car and no messing about with them. Local Kia dealer seems to stock only 4 piece

Anyone know anywhere in Ireland or Europe that can supply them. Seen some on Ali Express also but also seem universal and not for a RHD Car

Thanks

Fitcamx for 2020 Kia E Niro

Just got a Kia E Niro 2020 and looking to install a dashcam. I have Fitcamx installed on Toyota and looking for same for the Kia

I have attached picture of the mirror. When I emailed fitcamx they responded with the below.

I don't want to remove the plastic cover but to me it looks like it would have a plug for auto dimming and should be compatible

Anyone agree?

Thank you for your inquiry, please see this link https://fitcamx.com/products/fitcamx-dash-cam-for-2017-2022-kia-niro-and-niro-ev?\_pos=1&\_psq=Niro&\_ss=e&\_v=1.0

Can you please remove the plastic cover to find its part number? Please refer to this video to remove it.

Is there a plug for auto-dimming mirrors?

Questions on Charging at home and Public

Ok just got a Kia E Niro and have home charger installed

So its a Synch Energy and have the app to start the charging. So charged it up to 100% and all good. Asked the supplier if I only want to charge it a certain % how can I do this ? So if I have 20% and want to charge it to 80-90% can seem to find it on the app? Or is it better to charge it to 100% each time?

Plan is to use home charger but want to be able to charge at public chargers. So was looking at ESB but all seem to be account based so looking at PAYG. So open account top up and have this on the account. So is it case of rocking up to Charger and plugging it in and setting how much or how long you want to charge? So same case I want to charge it to Certain % to get me home if need be. Looked at few YT vids and nothing about this ?

Cant seem to see if these are contactless and can just rock up to charger and pay using contactless

Also looking at Plugshare app and clicking on those available there always seems to be none nearby? How can I check those that are near by and how long they are in use so if I do rock up to be next in line how long do I have to wait?

Public Charging In Ireland Contactless and Apps etc

Picking up First EV, Kia ENiro 64kw this week and also getting home charger installed. Dont plan to use if for long journeys but who knows

Plan is to use home charger most of the time. However in the case if stuck may have to use public charger. Can see YT video on ESB chargers etc but no mention if contactless? Some require accounts or app

So if for some reason I cant charge at home do most chargers pay for contactless? So plan would be just to top up to get me to x, y or home so want to plug it in hopefully fast charge have a cuppa and then have enough battery to get me to x y or home.

See there is AC which is slow charge which is longer to charge so if gone for few hours or overnight better and Fast charge is as per what it says

So anything I am missing or need to know when charging in public charging

Worth Changing Provider for EV Night Charge if 2nd Runaround car

So picking up a Kia E niro soon and getting Home Charger installed. So was checking out my provider rates Flogas below. We are on the smart 24 Elec Loyalty Discount and rates are 26.41 day or night. Our average bills since Feb have been about €100 pm. So for the amount of charging we will do possible one a week is it worth switching to the Smart EV Night Charge rate

Its a second car so just use it for city driving so me thinks not worth switching but just want other users opinions as dont want to be hit for much larger Elec Bills. Still on contract so cannot switch for the moment

Sync energy ev home charger any good?

Ok getting quotes for home ev charger. Got prices from Fokearn and looking for basic charger. Car is Kia E Niro 64kw and it's second car. No long journey and mainly use around Dublin and maybe odd journey up to North Ireland.

Not looking for one with all bells and whistles and looking at Sync EV (untethered): €999 (before seai grant)

Mixed reviews but just want to charge it overnight once a week. On 24 hour fixed rate with Flogas and other tariffs not great

Mixed reviews on this but it's simple and gets the job done so what are users experience

What Home Charger to install

As per Heading.

Applying for grant and you need to know what brand of charger you will be installing.

Looking for charger for possibly a Kia E Niro and only have granny charger outside house. Looking at possible getting non tethered for tidyness or is that best option?

Not looking for the best all bells and whistles etc. Just looking for something to do job and where to buy. Plan was to buy it myself and get electrician to install or is there any third party installers be cheaper.

All suggestions welcome.

Kia E Niro Are these good value

Looking at Buying a Kia Niro up North and found one (no links) that is 202 KIA E-NIRO 150KW 64KWH 4 Hatchback

48k miles

Level 4 so it has some nice extra bits like full leather, rear view camera, heated seats etc it is a nice spec

€16k

This ok price or anything should ask need to check re Battery

Other option is

221 car with just under 41k miles

KIA E-NIRO 150KW 64KWH 2 Hatchback

Parking sensors, half leather, pearl white paint

It is younger and less miles €17k

€17k above our budget but looking at the 202 is it a decent price

Recommended Dealership in North

As per Heading

So checking for second hand electric car as runaround on https://www.usedcarsni.com/ and keeping eye out for anything that might be worth it.

However looking for buyers who have done this and recommend any dealers they have bought from. I see some dealers can source a car once we let them know our requirements, anyone done this rather than checking website every day.

Not looking for something immediately and looking at Hyundai Kona or Kia E Niro. So if I email Dealership they can source it. Take it might be a fee

Anyone any experience on this and recommend any dealership that helpful with all docs etc

Buying EV car North lreland

Ok read the sticky on buying cars in Northern Ireland and posted on it but thought I'd start a new thread as not sure if anyone will see it.

Thinking of getting an Electric runaround Car end of year and was looking at Kona or Ioniq

So for anyone whom has bought up North how did you approach it, complete the Purchase? Was it DIY or via third party?

So I see a car I like and get in touch with Garage and take it most dealers aware of process exporting cars and know the process

Anyone done this and any complications or anything if I DIY it could miss ?

Any tips, help appreciated

As per heading.

Looking for a runaround car as second car. No major long journeys use it around town, picking up kids and maybe to work up m50 about 40k total journey.

Was looking at Dolphin surf as new will get grant and reasonable price. Not sure if great distance range on full charge for the entry maybe mid range. Will be charging at home and looking at budget car €20k max thus why looking at new to avail of grant

Any suggestions on second hand cars Nissan leaf? Reading batteries not great? Any other suggestions. Wife not keen on dacia spring or kia inster

Not considering buying till end of year just looking at financially planning for it
