What piece of visual media has the best hand-to-hand combat you've ever seen?

Useful non-normal "pets"?

A player of mine told me that they would like the possibility of purchasing pets, besides the normal beasts you can find everywhere. I want to create a vendor, but I'm struggling with finding good options for pets. The party exists of 5 players and they already have one pet who aids them in combat, so if possible I want it to either be useful out of combat, or have very limited turns in combat while still being resilient enough to not instantly die.

For reference, the party is currently level 7. Anything goes, from fiends to construct and from abberations to elementals. The more options the better. And I will of course charge them some crazy prices depending on how strong/useful and how rare the creature is.

EWC running BO3s was the best decision ever

So far only one "upset" and it was Iberian Soul losing to some UKR faceit boys. The favourites are advancing and the randoms are being weeded out.

Edit: Eternal Fire somehow lost too so two upsets in 32 matches, good ratio.

One of the main reasons many anime's power scaling fails, is one sentence: "he's fast!"

It's no secret that many fantasy/action anime really struggle with the power scaling of important characters/creatures in their show. I believe that one of the main reasons for this, is speed.

Think about how many times you've seen those words. And how many times that "fast" character/creature has been matched in speed by many more characters/creatures. How many times it has been hit by an attack so slow that even you and I could dodge it. How many times an even faster character/creature has been introduced, just to be matched in speed by the MC somehow, who was slower than the first "fast" character/creature. I can go on and on about this, and it's everywhere. JJK, HxH, Naruto, etc. the list of examples is endless.

I know it's all fantasy and such and I should just accept it or let it slide but for fuck's sake it would be so much easier for writers to create a balanced power scaling if they would stop doing this shit.

I need some advice for one specific situation

EDIT: SOLVED thanks to manamonkey!

I will introduce my new campaign through a oneshot, which I have fully prepared. During the oneshot, there will be a lethal minecart chase through the Underdark. I already figured everything out: when a character dies either through falling, damage or other environmental hazards, they will reappear soon after in a way that makes sense, so the players aren't left out. If they fall out of the minecart, but can fly or find other creative ways to save themselves, I will either let them get back in or find their own way out (pure story, no combat).

My issue is; what if a player falls out of the minecart, but casts feather fall? This specific interaction means the player will be stuck at the bottom of the ginormous Underdark cave, alive, but so much slower than the minecart.

It's supposed to be a oneshot, so I don't want to create hours of new content like a "go save this player" sidequest or something like that. I'm looking for an easy way out, just in case that specific interaction happens.

Ritual does something no other recent song has done.

In The Warning's 2025-2026 releases and collabs, one issue was painfully present (for me, this is an opinion!): all the new songs have a cool verse, riff and bridge, but the chorus was always lacking. They were made to be catchy but they didn't have that extra UMPH that The Warning is supposed to have.

Ritual is quite the opposite. The chorus is so fucking amazing and I can't even explain why. This is instantly a top 10 song for me. My only complaint would be that the breakdown is in such a different tempo from the main song that it disrupts the flow a bit too much imo, but it might grow on me.

[TOMT] A very specific scene from a fantasy anime

This post is my last bit of hope. I recently remembered a scene from an anime I watched, this is all I know:

It is a supernatural power fantasy anime in a modern setting, with post-2005 artstyle. The MC a young boy, arrives at an abandoned building at night. With him are his allies: at least one adult male and possibly one or two additional boys/girls. Their goal is to either rescue or take down someone inside the building, but there are opposing forces inside the building (at least two individuals, might be kids too). The confrontation happens, but during the confrontation a third party arrives and causes trouble for the MC's group. I don't remember exactly how it ends, but their was very probably some death and betrayal. I think one of the characters had a power that caused explosions, and one of the third party's characters was an adult female.

I have a terrible memory so it is entirely possible that the MC is a girl or the kids are adults but I still hope someone can help me out here 😭🙏

Electronic WTF?

WHAT WAS THAT?? Why did he have his knife out (again)?

It would have been an easy kill onto vsm, turning it into a 3v4, making it possible to end the half 4-8 which is SO much better than 3-9...

Question about Ritual vs Ego

Why would they release Ego before Ritual? Many people have already heard Ritual a while ago, the song is clearly finished.

The only thing I can imagine is that they already started on the MV for Ego, but then why play Ritual live?

Lackluster Spotify Anniversary...

Sure, it's fun to see what your first song was, and what your overall top artist was. But that's it? They used an algorithm on your stats, (probably) let an AI make a video about it and that's all? For their 20th anniversary??

The kitchen building shop down the street gave a whopping 40% off for their 40th anniversary. I don't expect that from Spotify, but give us something more than this shit ffs.
