hi there i'm applying to max planck IMPRSS school for phd in Heidelberg, i have some questions but they're really not specific to this program so any help is appreciated

1. they say they need 2 recommendation letters but the application allows for one more optional letter. How much attention should i give to this 3rd letter? in my mind even if it’s optional, the fact they allow it says they do consider it more or less, no? correct me if i’m wrong.
2. my bachelor’s is not in astronomy, but in engineering, i am on the course to finish my master’s degree in astronomy though. the application strongly stresses mentioning past physics courses with textbooks and tbh this is probably my weakest point, i just didnt study a lot of physics in the bachelor’s. how can i turn this point around to gain some advantage? is this even possible?

Hi. I'm studying away from home and August is a very slow pace month when i always feel the loneliest. Traveling back home (or anywhere) is not really an option now so i thought how i can make august less lonely and more full of things i can enjoy so i compiled a list of things that will hopefully keep me busy. I'm trying to learn from last August, which was awful, lonely, depressing, stressful, and many other negative adjective.

lemme know if you have any other ideas that i can try. Stay safe&hydrated!

I've tried Japanese matcha chocolate and it was really good, on the other hand Earl gray candies from Germany, which are basically small earl gray-infused sugar cubes, were awful.

Asslam allikum brothers and sisters. I currently live in a non-muslim country and i will go back to my country for vacation. I want to bring back some gifts for my non-muslim friends that are also islam-focused as a way of doing subtle Dawah (which means to let them know something about islam for those who aren't familiar with the term). I have zero ideas on my mind, all i can think of is to give them a small brochure about islam but this is way far from being subtle. i want a gift idea that is casual and opens a discussion and that can also be replicated to potentially 20 people (my friends in sports club).

Hey yall. I need an advice for the most suitable decathlon sandal for someone with chronic knee pain. i bought their MH500 trekking sneaker last summer for some light hiking but i ended up wearing it full time in the city because when i changed to normal sneakers i immediately noticed the difference in the way i walk and increased pain around my knee and hip joints. all other variables in my life are the same so the MH500 is definitely helping me walk better. Hence i was wondering of the best sandal counterpart?

hey yall. i just started my skincare journey to have a more balanced skin tone and since a ton of folks recommend BOJ's deep glow serum because it contains alpha arbutin, i am wondering if i can replace it with something like revox alpha arbutin? or other local european products? i'm kinda torn between buying what is expensive but 100% works (BOJ) and between starting slow with cheaper products. I also kinda need to fix my uneven skin tone in a ~ 1 month (friend's wedding deadline!)

(ps: on the vit c serum side of things, i got a local (italy) brand called "Dropology". the serum is much cheaper than many other ones which is making me suspicious but it's a start to build my skin barrier to tolerate.)
