Family Lawyer (urgent)

Hello everyone,

I am searching for recommendations for a lawyer who can work with someone on a limited income, offers a payment plan, or just provides any form of legal aid.

Thank you.

Not intentional.

I just started the game and mods will probably delete this post. I just needed someone to laugh with about this.

EDIT: It was not intentional. Just bc most of y'all do shit for engagement doesn't mean I do. Leave me alone.

(Update) 15 month old doing better

Last night I made a post about my daughter having acetone breath and sleeping all day. I was worried and wanted input as a first time mom with no village. Instead, I got attacked from the assumption that instead of calling her doctor, I posted on here. I called her doctor first and then posted but even if I hadn't - why are we so rude on this subreddit? My daughter is my first and only priority. Bullying folks anonymously does not make you a better person. You never know the entire situation. I was looking for solidarity because I DID call the after hours line and I did call the hospital and didn't get any real answers. She is fine today. Her doctor cleared her of any real issues, but I'm flaired as "ragebait" rather than a mom looking for guidance.

Please be nicer and do better. My daughter is my world and I don't take anything as seriously as I do with her. I quite literally said I was not looking for medical advice, but solidarity. You can attack me for a lot but not for being a mother.

Edit: I said I was embarrassed because I hate feeling like a burden to people. That doesn't stop me from caring for my child. I'm sorry that I thought this was a safe space.

15 month old has acetone breath and has been sleeping all day.

She spit up this morning and got a bloody nose. She's been crying on and off, super thirsty and peeing more than usual. I am not looking for anything other than folks who might have gone through the same thing and what it led to. She also had issues breathing last night according to my husband. Is this just a part of being sick? I am clearly calling her doctor tomorrow but I am nervous about going to bed in case I should stay up for her.

EDIT: I am taking her to the hospital even if I feel embarrassed by it (I know I shouldn't).

Haircare with my 14 month old.

I am a biracial woman who was raised by folks that gave me boy cuts because they could not be bothered to learn about my hair maintenance. My daughter is white but has a lot of hair for a 14 month old and her bangs are super long. I do not want to cut them, but I am at a loss on how to keep her hair out of her face. I have tried age appropriate hair clips, but they don't stay because she is so active.

I am reaching out for ideas, articles, videos, ANYTHING. Not only help me with hairstyles for my girl as she grows, but to help her feel good about herself when she is older. I don't want her to be a teenager and not know how to style her hair like me. Thank you🩷.

My son's seasonal science workbook doesn't include Summer.

The activities in this book are seasonal based and this workbook I was gifted for my soon to be kindergartener doesn't include the current season. I guess it'll go in the closet until Fall.

My son was gifted a tin of cards at GoFest.

They are duplicates that had been set aside by the original owner. My little guy is new to the community and seeing folks treat him with such kindness gives me hope.

It's Thursday???

I legitimately thought today was Wednesday. Which means I spent all of yesterday thinking it was Tuesday.

I usually keep up with the days through my stepson's "homeschool" activities (1 hour of a workbook to get ready for kindergarten), but I have been slacking this week due to being sleep deprived by my 13 month old.

Just hoping I'm not alone in this mess. That's all. Keep killing it, ladies.

13mo not sleeping well.

As I type this my 13 month old has been crying on and off for hours because she's overtired and can't fall asleep. I would love advice on how to help her.

But the main issue is that for the last week she will go to sleep at bedtime and sleep til 2a. When she wakes up she's standing up crying. Usually I can give her some water and lay her back down but lately she just stands back up. I'll put her in my bed and try to help her fall asleep but she will either 1) wake up very frequently or 2) want to play and be active.

It's truly driving me crazy. I don't want her in my bed. Especially if she's not even going to sleep but we share a room so I also can't have her crying the entire time or long enough to soothe herself back to sleep.

Please help.

Heat Wave

Both of my littles (5 and 13 mo) caught a stomach bug mixed with being overheated over the past week. I don't see us leaving the house for the foreseeable future. How do I keep them entertained / safe?? I have only had my 5 year old for two years so I still feel like a new mom in many ways. I'll take all the advice. Thank you.

My kid is gonna freak right

My local Walmart has been cracking down on limits and so as a result, I was able to get my hands on this for my 5 year old pokemon nerd. He loves Charizard but I know very little about the cards or quality. Fingers crossed!

Looking for a Place to Restuff Stuffies

My son's beloved tiger stuffie has seen better days. On top of needing a bath, there is a hole in its tail. He has had this stuffie for nearly 4 years and it is in desperate need of some TLC. Does anyone know of somewhere local or even nonlocal?

Apps for the tablet

My soon to be 6 year old has finally received his first tablet from one of my husband's coworkers. I originally wasn't going to get him one until he was 7 but I have set it up to where I feel okay about it. It has a kids mode and is set to 1 hour a day.

My question is what games are we downloading? Educational content? We are slowly working on learning how to read as he starts school soon but it's a process so games with a lot of reading are a no go.

Baby wakes up in-between the times my husband stops snoring.

Literally for the past two nights I have only been able to sleep during my 12 mo's nap time because I am trapped in a cycle where my husband snores so loudly it keeps me awake. He will briefly stop snoring and I will try to fall asleep before it starts again only for my 12 mo to wake up.

Most of the time she can put herself back to sleep but she's either going through a regression I don't know about or cutting teeth that I can't see.

My husband has always been an annoying snorer and usually I can power through it but lately it's been keeping me up. I gave up on sleeping around 4 and left the room to do laundry and watch tv.

It's killing me.

My daughter will turn 1 this upcoming Thursday.

I am in tears and shambles. We are going to the beach for her birthday and it'll be such a special and magical week, but oh my goodness I remember this time last year reading posts from other mothers looking for insight about their 4, 6, 9 month olds and thinking "wow, I have so much time until then".

She will be my only baby because I have a 5 year old step/really adoptive son and I only ever wanted one child who was a daughter anyway. I would give a piece of my soul to relive this past year. To tell myself that I knew what I was doing and that my girl would sleep more than I thought she would and that I would be okay. I don't want another kid, I just want to relive this past year with my daughter one more time.

I have spent the entire last year anxious and uncertain but yesterday my girl started signing to me for the first time. She has taken two small independent steps (with her arms out like a zombie) and tried to stand by herself all in the same day.

This time last year, I was told I would have to be induced in order to receive a biopsy because my vitals were looking so bad that my oncologist thought I had cancer. I lost over 40lbs while pregnant and was so scared to die.

I would give anything to relive it even if I didn't have the knowledge of how life would end up now.

She needs a haircut because I have a lot of hair and her bangs are so long but I can't bring myself to cut them. She is a very tiny baby but very healthy so I don't care. I just can't handle it all.

I love you my little fruit bat. Please stop growing up.

Stranger Danger

My 5 and a half year old is starting kindergarten in August. We were learning basic math and writing to prepare for it. Recently I've taught him my phone number and the use of 911 as well as our address but I'm unsure about how to teach him to not talk to strangers. Whenever we go to the park he approaches other adults and it worries me because soon he will no longer be under my constant supervision.

Does anyone have tips about getting stranger danger through to him? I love that he's so social and kind but that is not how the world is. Thank you.

My 11 mo did her first ASL sign!

I have been teaching her ASL since she was born and I am so happy but of course it was the sign for dad. Just like she only babbles "dada". I thought it was a one off last night but she did it again this morning so I know she knows what it means.

Will she EVER say or sign "mama"?? Stay tuned 😭

(I'm truly not offended before anyone flames me).

Spicy fish recs?

I have been exploring the world of tinned fish since having my baby last year. It's super convenient for a stay at home mom like myself. However, I have yet to find a spicy tin that is actually spicy. I plan on going to World Market soon and would love some recommendations (spicy or not spicy but spicy if possible).

Thank you!
