I just finished my freshman year of college, and from day one of classes in the fall, I was pretty open about being in the fandom (furry pins on my bag/hat, in a campus furry server, saying yes if anyone asked, etc). Though I’ve noticed I also do something else as well:

When I’m meeting new people in queer/nerd spaces, I’ll casually drop something about my fursona in conversation (usually if pokemon is brought up, since his design is partially inspired by vaporeon). I use it as a sort of litmus test to see how socially chill someone is. Like, if they’re not at least tolerant of something as tame as the average furry, then they’re probably not someone I want to hang around willingly

Anyone else do this?

Long story short, I’m 19 and home from college, and my mental health has gotten significantly worse lately. I sort of half-broke down in front of my mom the other day and cited my dysphoria being horrible as one of the reasons I’m doing so poorly

Problem is, I just don’t know how to explain it to someone that has never felt it. Saying “it’s a constant feeling of something just being wrong” doesn’t feel like it truly encapsulates what gender dysphoria feels like

So, how would y’all explain it?

My friend and I went to our first pride festival today, and it was a ton of fun! We ended up talking to some girls our age and exchanged instagrams before going on our way to do other things.

Earlier tonight, I was talking to one of the girls, and she essentially said “feel free not to answer, but can I ask how long you’ve been on T?”

The thing is, I’m not. And probably won’t be for a while. But apparently my voice training/height/general outfit (baggy jorts and a muscle shirt, essentially) helped me pass well enough that she thought I was

My family is… weird when it comes to their transphobia. They’re mostly fine with me and my friend, since we’re ftm, but they are wildly transphobic against trans women.

My sister randomly decided to text me this morning all “….and yet men can go into women’s bathrooms where there are kids?!”. I didn’t reply, because I was busy and didn’t feel like arguing first thing in the morning

Still… what concrete stats and such can I use to argue with my family when they inevitably try to make me vouch for all trans people (again). I’m tired of this happening but if I walk away from the argument, then they take that as a transphobic win

Him: Wait, seriously? (He then looked me over) How old are you?

Me: Nineteen

Him: Mannnnn, when I was your age, I was drugging girls up left and right!

Me, after pausing, wondering how the hell to respond to that: I’m just not that kind of guy, haha…

And then (who I assume to be) his friend dragged him off. Definitely a very uncomfortable situation, but hey, he saw me as man enough to tell me shit like that. I’ll count my blessings

For context, I’m a pre-T, pre-surgery trans guy, but I’m tall and have done voice training so I can usually pass somewhat well. This especially goes for when I’m wearing a suit.

And then his friend pulled him away. It was still very uncomfortable… but also affirming, I guess, that he saw me as a guy enough to admit something like that?

Outside of physical aspects, I mean. One thing I’ve been asked a few times throughout my life is why I couldn’t just live as a masculine woman, and I find it hard to articulate that being trans isn’t just wanting a different body. It plays into how you fit into society and interact with others.

So, outside of anything physical, what does your masculinity/being a man mean to you?

Hey y’all! I have adwd on Steam, and for some reason, there is no voice acting. I had assumed the update was already installed since there was no option to update before playing. Anyone else having this issue?

For context, I’m 19. My parents are Trump supporters, not in a “kill all trans people” way but in a “people should wait until 18 to transition” way. Except for me, they want that deadline to be 25.

I’m friends with several other trans guys my age, but I’ll focus on 3: M, N, and G for anonymity. I lost contact with M in middle school, but we’ve recently become friends again online. He’s had top surgery and has been on T for several months. G got top and started T as a teenager. N, who’s actually a year younger than me but is one of my 2 closest friends, got a reduction about a year ago and just started T last month.

And me? I’m fucking stuck. My dysphoria is sometimes debilitating, and it’s only getting worse. My ribs hurt all the time. And I just have to fucking deal with it because it’s my only option since I’m financially dependent on my parents

I can’t help but be extremely jealous of my friends. I’m so happy for them and I’m glad to see them transitioning into versions of themselves that feel more true, but god, the jealousy is bad

Whole point of this post is to ask how to deal with that. Sorry it was kind of long winded

I loved that software as a kid and want to play around with it. Is there any legal way to access it without having access to a computer that already has it?

I got hired the other day, then promptly ghosted, and I have a feeling it was due to the boss clocking me as trans. I have no concrete evidence and don’t plan to open a case, but it got me thinking:

Are we still a protected class when it comes to employment discrimination? Or was that protection removed in the sea of everything else happening?

Earlier, I to go to dollar general to grab a few things, and while I was there I saw they had perfect order packs. I got to talking to the cashier and told her that this was the first time I’d seen packs on shelves in a long time.

She said she had to put them behind the register to prevent theft, but also that she hides a few packs from each shipment around the store for kids to find. She also said that she sits one aside in case a kid comes by trying to find cards after everything else has been sold out.

I thought that was just neat of her to do :)

Hey! I’ve been a PMD fan for years and am thinking of diving into fan games. I know that most are built off of explorers (which is awesome, since they’re visually my favorite in the series). However, I know that several acclaimed fan games *also* are made to be extremely difficult

Do y’all have any fan game recs that aren’t that much harder than explorers? I’m looking for a challenge, but not something that’ll end up being infuriating lmao

Edit: bonus points if they run as their own application, but I can probably get an emulator (or ROM? not entirely sure how this works) set up if needed

Slight spoilers for woolhaven, I guess? Anyways, I tried her fleece on a crusade a grand total of one time, but I had a lot of problems with enemy pathfinding. They’d be drawn to the sheep ghosts like intended… but the ghosts would fly out of the map, the enemies would follow, and I’d have to sit there and wait for the enemies to come back to where I could attack them.

Is this a known issue, or something individual? For context, I’m on windows 11

I’m not entirely sure where my religious faith lies, but I want to explore it. I also think that meditation would be good for me from an anxiety management standpoint. Problem is… I’ve always had trouble with it, even when using guided meditations.

What tips do you guys have to keep your mind from wandering? Or just other tips in general? Thanks!
