When Both Sides Sound Right

I’m only 19, and I’m going to major in philosophy. For the past year and a half, I’ve been studying religion, and right now I’d consider myself agnostic.
What throws me off is how convincing both sides can sound. Some days I’ll listen to Catholics and think, “That makes perfect sense. I don’t know how anyone could argue against that.” Then I’ll hear a confident, logic-minded atheist and have the exact same reaction.
There are intelligent, logical people on both sides who seem completely certain they’re right. That’s what makes it so difficult for me to know what’s actually true. I’m just trying to stay open-minded and follow the arguments wherever they lead.
