Your ancestors started the Great War, and to satisfy their honor and yours you shall finish it. The war no longer is fought over nations or ideologies, some diviners and scholars may speak of it, but it is esoteric to most. The Great War is spiritual now, present in the hearts of all people.

Twisted Floorboards is a roleplaying game about a group of normal people trapped in the domain of a dark spirit that seeks to destroy the sanity of all within their domain. Players take the role of Sinners, normal people who have found themselves in the grip of the unnatural. The GM takes on the role of the Haunt, a malicious entity that has possessed the doors and halls of a building and seeks to destroy the minds of all within its domain and ultimately possess them.
This is a psychological horror game that focuses on the minds of the sinners and the personal toll that the Haunt takes on them. The Haunt is not all powerful and strength of will can save you. Escape is possible, endless torture is not inevitable, and the sinners have the power to change their fates, though the odds are grim.
