Salin - Live on KEXP

The link will start at my favorite song of theirs, Painted Lady, but you should definitely check out the entire performance. Rammana was my favorite jazz-fusion album from last year, and this live performance is incredible to watch and listen to.

Wow, Silent Line really is that good.

Ive been playing all the AC games in order, currently about 10 hours into silent line, and holy moly this game is amazing. I liked AC3 quite a bit, but this game blows AC3 out of the water. The part variety is incredible, with variant weapons to really fine tune weight/energy/ammo capacity on your build. The selection of weird gimmicky parts is both wide AND effective, like the back booster, the dual-back-slot laser cannon, and the blade arms being some of my favorites.

The missions are really hard, and I feel like it's probably expected that I fail most of them on the first attempt and then have to tweak my AC to perform a strangely specific task. Like changing to a long-range FC and precision rifle to deal with the missile assault on the airbase. To destroy the mirage transport I unequipped everything but my blade, and installed the mirage prototype generator that let me overboost for 20 straight seconds to get in front of it.

In addition, pretty much every mission having 1 or more secret challenges that reward parts is really pushing me to excel in these missions and not just get by, further encouraging per-mission optimization of my AC. The whole gameplay loop is so much more challenging, engaging, and rewarding than before.

Im like maybe halfway through the game at best and this is already my 2nd favorite AC title, and the first time since AC1 that I have felt compelled to achieve 100% completion

The most condescension I have gotten for being night shift is from... my boss?

My friends and family have all been very understanding and accommodating of my schedule. this is a privilege apparently reading through some of the posts on here. I work 10-8 or 10-6 as a fast food manager. My GM worked night shift in this same location some 10 years ago, and acts like knows night shift better than the people working it now. The thing is, the population of our town and county has exploded since covid (we're directly adjacent to a large city) and the demands on night shift have gone way up, and continue to climb.

We're a 24 hour location, but we still have to do a lot of deep cleaning and most of it falls on night shift since we're the "slow shift." Yes, we are slower than morning or evening, but we have significantly higher sales to employee ratio and GM just cannot wrap her head around this. Some task wont get completed on a shift, she'll complain about it, and ill explain that we were too busy and didnt have time. I ask for more employees, she says no and to "manage my time better."

I pull up the sales report to show how busy we were. "Oh you only made $400 between 4 and 5 that's not bad at all." LADY WE DID $400 IN SALES IN AN HOUR AND IT'S ONLY ME AND 1 OTHER GUY THAT'S TERRIBLE.

Today she offhand mentions how easy we have it on night shift, back in her day it was so much harder. NO IT WASNT WE HAVE TRIPLE THE CUSTOMERS AND THE SAME WORK FORCE.

I love my job and my regulars and my iron-willed night shift warriors and the pay is pretty good for an uneducated inexperienced schmuck like me so im sticking around, the GM can lick my balls if the store isnt spotless in the morning.

My rural supermarket never has new toys in stock, but I got super lucky with my most anticipated figure! Had to cancel my online pre-order.

▲ 6 r/Guitar

Trying to decide whether to modify a vintage guitar.

I recently picked up a '77 Greco strat for super cheap. It's a fantastic guitar that has clearly been through the ringer and still plays great. It's covered in scratches and dings, the tuners have been replaced, and it looks like the electronics have already had a repair job done on them.

I'm in love with it, but I kinda want to mod it a little. I want to put a period-accurate Maxon hambucker (with a new pick guard, I won't butcher the old one) in the bridge position, and change the 3 way selector to a 5 way.

On one hand, its an old guitar that's mostly original aside from the tuners and it's fucking rad as-is. On the other hand, it's a cheap old beater that leaves a little to be desired.

How do I resolve these two warring states of mind? Any advice?

Whataburger launching a new "chicken platform" in June

The whatachicken sandwhich is one of the least ordered items on our menu. The number 11 isn't particularly popular either. in an attempt to revitalize interest in said products a new "chicken platform" is being launched. The brioche bun and the whatachicken patty are being retired. They will be replaced by a potato bun and a new and improved chicken patty. We will serve a cheaper variant that has only pickles, and the deluxe variant which will have all the same veggies as before. Both variations will come with no sauce, but I believe we are keeping the whatasauce around for the grilled chicken. All of our chicken sandwhiches will now come in little foil bags instead of wrapping paper.

In addition, there will be a new LTO chicken sandwich with a garlic-y honey chili sauce and "cheese spread" (it's basically pimento), no veggies.
