Atom Sling 8L and water bottles

What’s your method here? Do they pair together, or are they separate things for you?

I have an atom sling I’m planning to use for international travel, walking around a city and short trails specifically.

I want to carry a 24oz water bottle. I’m wondering if in reality it’ll be too clunky inside the bag, or if you use the straps or a clip to attach one? I haven’t had a chance to actually use my bag yet, and I’m deciding which water bottle to get.

I know my yetis and hydro flasks are too bulky. I came across the Owala FreeSip 24oz (regular, twist, or 25oz plastic) seem to be like potential options.

Just looking for first hand experience, so any commentary on the atom sling and water bottles is greatly appreciated!

Anybody carry a 24oz in/on their Patagonia Atom Sling 8L bag?

Debating between the 24oz Freesip or Twist (also half considering the 25oz tritan since it’s lightweight plastic).

It’ll be for international travel and carrying around while I’m out and about. Hence something small, light, and ideally able to carry inside or clip onto my day sling.

Just looking for feedback as it’s hard to tell what will fit from the pictures. Thanks!

Let’s talk Flannels

I’ve been a long time LL Bean flannel guy. The scotch plaid flannel, like most LL Bean stuff, runs very large and boxy.

I’m looking for a lightweight flannel, and came across the Patagonia Lightweight Fjord Flannel. I’m wondering if I should get my normal clothing size (XL) or size down like I do for the LL Bean flannels (L).

I’m a toss up of L/XL on my other Patagonia gear. My capilene cool sun hoodie is XL, my iron forge hemp utility jacket is L, and my big down winter jacket is XL. Any context on the fit of the Fjord flannel (specifically lightweight) is greatly appreciated!

Intermediate Upper Lower A/B Routine

I’ve been using Hevy for a few years now. Just recently stumbled across the subreddit for it. I originally started lifting weights in highschool for football. In college, I got a home rack and followed 5x5 strong lifts. From there, over the last 10 years or so (31M), I’ve ran various bro splits, PHAT, PHUL, and most recently PPL.

I made this routine which is heavily inspired from Jeff Nippards fundamentals Upper Lower program and PHUL. I’m trying to go to the gym 4x per week, and give myself weekends off. I’ve never competed or enhanced myself, I just really like lifting weights. I’m also 2 years post op from ACL reconstruction with a quad graft.

My goal at this time is Hypertrophy. I’ve never 1RM trained, but here are my main lifts (lbs) at this point. I’d consider myself intermediate approaching advanced.

Bench: 235x4x8/7/6/5

Squat: 315x4x8/7/6/5

Deadlift: 405x3x5/4/3

Overhead Press: 135x4x8/7/6/5

Anyways, wanted to share this routine I plan to start on Monday after deloading this week. Open to any feedback, thoughts, comments, and concerns. I’m hoping to keep each session around 1 hour. Cheers

Some notes: Lat Pulldown is Medium MAG grip on A/Standard wide overhand on B.

Single Player Grind on First Sorc

Been a d2 nerd for very long time. Haven’t really played much since ROTW. Decided to start fresh on Single Player Self Found ROTW.

My sorc is level 84 blizz, but criminally undergeared*. I found an Occy, but the rest of my gear is Smoke/Lord/Rhyme/Randi garbage and my merc uses a very weak insight/smoke/bulwark.

I’m wondering at what point should I use my act 1 shards vs farming terror zones vs the old school mf loop of Andy/AT/meph/LK. I’ve been farming on players3 but aside from the Occy, haven’t found much. Can’t even get a monarch or eth merc weap. I’m worried the shards would be a waste this early, but I’m almost considering using them anyways because maybe it’ll give me that boost from starter gear to mid tier gear. I’m miles away from core runewords and gear, but struggling to take that next step beyond beginner. Looking for advice on the newer game elements and gameplay. I think it can get me out of the old school loop of mf boss runs. Thanks

M12 Surge BOGO good deal?

I’m in the M12 fuel family already. I have the installation driver, 3/8 stubby impact, 3/8 ratchet, and a 1/2” drill driver. I do need an M12 Fuel Surge, but not immediately. The current BOGO deal has it for $200 with 2x 2.0 batteries (don’t need batteries) and I would bundle it with the M12 fan because I want that too.

My question is, how often does the M12 Fuel Surge go on sale? This deal has it at $120 with the batteries and $80 for the fan, which I would keep.

If I need the tool in a month or two, what are the odds I’m going to find the tool for sub-$150? Thanks

FitCamX: Front-Only or Front and Rear

FitCamX is on sale for prime day. I have a 4th gen and want a simple OEM-style dash cam.

Never had a dashcam before. Is it actually beneficial to have the rear camera, or is just front facing ok?

Anybody with a 4th gen have tips on routing wires for a rear cam? Headliner? Thanks

2026 RAV4 PHEV Trailer hitch, wiring harness, and auxiliary lights install

Creating this post to hopefully help others who are looking to do something similar. This was done on a 2026 RAV4 PHEV SE for the goal of using a hitch mounted bike rack. It would require installing a trailer hitch, unless you have the trim (Woodland only, I think, not entirely sure) with a rear bumper cutout for the trailer hitch. To add lights, you have to install a wiring harness as well. The wiring harness is modified (cutting the red wire) to work on this vehicle. Finally, dual auxiliary lights for visibility needed on hitch mounted platform bike racks. It uses a 4 pin connector to get running lights, brake lights, blinkers, and hazards. I had to piece together information from a few different forums and videos, so hopefully this can unify info and save folks some time. Safe travels. Cheers.

Parts:

RH670126

B&W Trailer Hitch

CMF 56524

Custom 4-Way Flat Trailer Wiring Harness – Toyota Grand Highlander

ETP 430

4-Pin Flat + 5-Pin Flat Mounting Bracket for 2” Hitch Receiver

CMF 53201

Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers

Instructions:

Big shout out to Chris at U-Haul. You are awesome! Here are his videos with install instructions.

Trailer hitch install:

Wiring harness install:

Auxiliary lights install:

https://youtu.be/qbCOS-O5cHY?si=--FgJqRjwG6Y09Y1

Notes:

- I was able to purchase all parts at U-Haul

- When installing the trailer hitch, make sure you use a torque wrench. Even if you don’t intend to tow with the hitch, torquing to spec is important!

- When installing the wiring harness, you need to remove a lot of trim. Go slowly and take your time, and use a trim removal tool for leverage.

- The ring terminal for the ground on the wiring harness is very delicate. Be careful not to snap it off when tightening the fastener. Consider replacing it with a “beefier” ring terminal.

- Make sure you have a lot of large zip ties. Routing the wires securely is important.

- Test to make sure your auxiliary lights work, and are aligned properly (Left/Right) before you mount them. Nothing worse than signaling left and blinking right.

Is this hollow rattle/echo sound normal? M12 Fuel Installation Driver

Just bought my first Milwaukee tools the other day, and after using the M12 Fuel Installation Driver for the first time, I noticed this sound. It doesn’t seem normal. It’s a hollow sounding rattle that echoes inside the tool after releasing the trigger. My other M12 Fuel tools (ratchet, impact wrench, drill) from the kit don’t do this.

I got it from Home Depot. Can I just take it back by itself, or do I need to bring the whole kit? Thanks

2026 RAV4 PHEV Wiring harness for lights on a bike rack

Hey all. We recently got a 2026 RAV4 PHEV SE. I got the UHaul 2” hitch receiver and installed it fine - receiver only and no wiring harness. After putting on our bike rack (RockyMounts MonoRail) we’re realizing it’s covering the tail lights pretty good.

I want to get an aftermarket set of trailer light strips to attach on the bike rack. My research tells me this vehicle has a 4 pin connector. I can’t find it for the life of me. Can anybody help me figure out what I need to do to connect a light strip to the 4 point harness?

Is the harness included by default, or do I need to purchase a Toyota part and route it from a power source and through the body of the car somehow?

First Wrench Set for Weekend Warrior DIY/Auto

I’m building my toolbox as a weekend warrior DIY guy and frequently work on my families vehicles.

If you were to buy one wrench set, which would it be? Looking to pick one up at the June PLS, but I’m stuck between two:

ICON Anti-Slip Grip Professional Metric Combination Wrench Set, 14 Piece - Item 64712

ICON Professional Metric Combination Wrench Set, 14 Piece - Item 64709

I want a daily driver first set of wrenches knowing that down the road, I’ll also get a set of ratcheting wrenches (either fixed or flex head - not entirely sure if that impacts my original dilemma in this post).

I’ve always used standard wrenches, so I have no experience with anti-slip. I primarily use wrenches on vehicles. I already have all of the Quinn master socket sets. I’m leaning towards normal combination wrenches, since I’m worried the anti slip will just do more harm than good. But, if it makes sense to have the anti slip on my main set, knowing I’ll have a regular grip ratcheting set later, or a standard set with a anti slip ratcheting set later, I can be swayed.

Steelcase Leap V2 for $100

I’ve been casually lurking marketplace for a chair upgrade recently. Came across this 2016 original leather Steelcase Leap V2 posted for $100. So happy with it! I need to clean and condition the leather, but it’s in great shape. All functions work as far as I can tell. Debating getting roller blade style casters, but there’s nothing wrong with these. The only thing I noticed, which seems to be normal with these chairs, is that the cylinder has about 1/2” of clearance from the ground.

I want to keep this chair, but I’m also tempted to flip it and make a quick buck. How did I do?

u/hyphenpepperfield — 3 months ago

Hi all. I am invested in the Ryobi ONE+ HP ecosystem, but am ready/able to get some M12 tools for the bulk of my projects. My reasoning is they are smaller and will save me time for regular tasks. I am a hobbyist/weekend warrior/DIY auto and home project kind of guy. Oil changes, brakes, suspension, exhaust, alternators, basically no interior engine or transmission stuff but just about anything else you can do at home. Also chores at home like hanging TVs, pictures, and basic projects.

The 3 M12 tools I am thinking of are all Fuel (brushless) and cover 3 categories; drill, impact wrench, and ratchet.

  1. 3404-20 - M12 FUEL 1/2" Hammer Drill/Driver

  2. 2554-20 - M12 FUEL 3/8" Stubby Impact Wrench

  3. 2567-20 - M12 FUEL 3/8" High Speed Ratchet

For ratchets, I think the standard reach makes more sense than extended reach for my use. If I’m wrong, please argue why.

I need help deciding if these are the right tools, and if so, then I need help figuring out which batteries make the most sense. Ideally, I’d have some sort of Home Depot promo or hack to cover all these, but I’m new to this, so I could use help there too. Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks
