One progesterone pill, three days estradiol gel= full period returned after 8 months of no period???

A week ago, I took my first progesterone pill (200 mg) before bed. I woke up with blurred vision as well three new pounds (I’m currently trying very hard to decrease size for my daughter’s wedding in 5 weeks).

I stopped the progesterone for now and did three days of estradiol gel 0.5 and then stopped that too deciding now may not be the time for a big change since losing weight is so challenging for me (age 50 and Hashimotos.)

Today? A regular period started! Bled through, the whole thing! I’ve gone 8 months plus without a period and have ZERO hormones in my labs. I don’t even register for Pro or Est but have moderate T, hence the prescriptions.

Please explain if you can and have experience with this. Also-what now? Should go back on them?

How do to best start HRT?

Here are my labs showing my Estrogen and Progesterone levels. Testosterone is mid range at the moment.

I have not had a cycle in 8 months.

Doctor prescribed generic progesterone (200mg/day) and estradiol gel (0.5/day). She said something about having to have both/a balance because otherwise it could cause cancer.

So, for you experienced HRT-ers,

  1. How do these prescriptions look for my numbers?
  2. What time of day and how to apply and administer best with both prescriptions for optimal results?
  3. I have been reading many women have increased lipadema and cellulit

e

  1. after HRT. Can anyone speak to that in this sub?

Thank you all.

First increase-when and how much?

I was told to take 2.3 for two months to start. I’m reading here that it’s typically one month, then double. I’m not losing much, but I did lose about 5 pounds with zero side effects other than (sniff sniff) losing a lot of hair this past month.

Should I inquire why I’m not being told to double to 4.6 as I see people seem to be on this sub?

In Your Experience, Up or down?

I’m on week 9 of LDN (3 weeks of 1.0mg and 6 weeks at 2.0).

For the last two weeks, every day I come home from work and sleep for 2-3 hours. I wake and eat dinner, but feel exhausted all the way to bed time. I’m getting nothing done and I’m tired of saying how tired I am.

Is this a time to increase to the next mg, or is this a sign to decrease?

Overdid it. What works best for hip pain?

My daughter (26) and I walked 8.5 miles today. I get about 8-10k on a normal day. Lots of pain in right hip/upper thigh area tonight. I’ve stretched and stretched and napped, took Advil, but who has done this and what works?

Stabbing sharp pain in eyeball

For the last couple of years, about once every month or two, out of the blue, I will get a sharp, quick, stabbing pain in my eyeball for about thirty seconds, then it’s gone. What could this be?

Week 6-still so tired.

Weird because I also have pep and energy, but feel like if I sat down and closed my eyes, I’d be in a deep sleep for a few hours.

I was on 1 mg for three weeks and now 2 mg the past three weeks. I feel better. Not hugely better, but better.

Is six weeks past the point of usual initial fatigue?

Bed and Breakfast top picks - including their food quality

We will be needing 3-4 bed and breakfasts for a wedding. Which ones are top notch? I’m especially interested in a knock-your-socks-off breakfast.

Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Have you ever been so tired that you changed a flight (after AA shortened the connection time on the original time to less than 30 minutes at ORD) for PM INSTEAD OF AM??!!! Now I’m arriving at 11:59 PM. To change it back adds $395!! I definitely did not get a $395 credit when I changed the flight. I can’t believe my poor eyesight and I are so dumb.

I just finished week 4 of LDN. I did 3 weeks @ 1mg then titrated to 2mg this past week.

The last two days, I felt better than I have yet. It was great! Then today…my joints hurt all over and in places I don’t even remember hurting before starting. It’s so disappointing. Is this a normal situation? To regress after feeling great and noticing positive effects?

I have recently started LDN for Hashimoto’s-related and high inflammation reasons. While I’m doing lots of reading, I wondered if LDN could be helpful for my daughter.

My daughter is ready to start a family, but has rupturing cysts that her doctor has said can only be ‘fixed’ by taking birth control. She has tried to go off the BC, but the painful cysts then return. The pain is similar to an appendix bursting and that is what the ER thought it was when they first started. They also thought it was a rupturing fallopian tube at first.

Does anyone know if LDN can help with this? She is 26 years old.

I started LDN 1.0 mg three weeks and one day ago. First week-extreme fatigue after work. Slept 2-3 hours, ate, went to bed. Second week toward the end I became pretty depressed and weepy, to put it mildly. Third week-felt pretty darn good. Now today, feels like the fatigue is back. Also had constipation most days since starting.

Script says go up 1mg every two weeks. I’m reading all these people taking way less. It makes me uncertain if I should increase or decrease. I know I have had slight improvements in pain. I want to heal my gut and get off of or at least lower my thyroid meds, drop unexplained weight, and have a more stable mood while also preventing accruing more autoimmune diseases. (My sister now has three. I’m scared.)

All that to say- how do you know if you need more, or if it’s working ‘behind the scenes’??
