How do I make clearcoat stick well?
In the process of restoring my lights and I'm wondering if starting at 400 grit and working my way up to 2000 will be fine. I'd then clean them with isopropyl alcohol and apply a spray 2k clearcoat in thin layers.

I'm yet to test it with 12v but I've cleaned the connectors and checked that the wiring seemed intact. Waiting if the CEL lights up again now. I hope the mouse droppings on my engine cover weren't related to this.
I can find Bosch, vemo, topran, febi bilstein, aic, and OEM purge valves for M5 and n52 engines easily, really cheap too. But for some reason the 525i with m54b25 has only the oem one available. 110 euros. Pain. I'm guessing nobody makes it because the m54 was in the e60 for such a short time. part number 13907557923, supersedes 13907503986
My rear ones have been ripped apart by those springs, and the driver's mat keeps sliding on top of the pedal.
Engine off vs on.
Is this something that can be coded?
If I have to destroy the cables to add a relay and diodes with a pulse width expander, I'll just go with a different brand. No I do not want halogens, thanks.
Had a rough night. The kind where you cry until there's nothing left and you start wondering what the point of all of it is. I grew up getting bullied through most of my childhood, never felt like I belonged anywhere, with anyone, always hiding something from the people closest to me because I didn't want them to be sad. The only place I ever felt remotely safe was online, in music, and in games like this.
It's funny how it can become so much more than just a game, it was a safe place, my own little sanctuary. A place where a lonely kid could disappear into something beautiful when the real world was too cruel. So tonight I put on my headphones, listened to the soundtrack and snatched the integrum collection on sale.
Rest of the night will be spent with good snacks and a cold beverage, revisiting my safe place, going back for that kid that deserved better. The least I feel I owe him.
I've always been having issues with remote lock/unlock working only when I point the key towards the rear of the car, or not at all. I've replaced key batteries and assumed it just had to be the diversity antenna.
I got a spare from a junkyard, only to pull the old one out and realize it's visually brand new compared to the junkyard one. So I just cleaned the contacts on the old antenna, cleaned the glass side contacts and then popped it back in, but the range didn't improve. So I popped the junkyard one in despite the rough looks, it said nothing at all. Nothing. Swapped original one back and now I'm about to see if I can return this thing and get my 100 euros back. The seller swore the contacts were good when I asked before ordering btw.
So, now what? Do I try my luck with another replacement or should I just try to scrub and clean the contacts some more? Maybe try and bend the big pins up a bit more so it'd make better contact? I don't know anymore. I just want to be able to unlock the car from a few meters away.
Hello again, does anyone here have any experience replacing their diversity antenna? Could I just get any 868Mhz one from the scrapyard and avoid coding, or do I have to peek in and check the specific parts number on mine? It's a pre-lci 2004 525i, if that matters.
