First attempt at a tomahawk

Dry brined with SPG blend for 18 hours, smoked with cherry wood chunks on Weber kettle until 110 then seared. Made a compound butter with butter, garlic, and rosemary from the garden. Finished with black lava salt.

Things to add to a PD focused TCCC class

Hey yall

I’m doing a down and dirty tactical casualty care for my squad tomorrow and am wondering what else I should add that’s pertinent. We work for a big city department so fire is right around the corner so long term care is not necessary.

So far I have the following:

- run through my EMT bag
- tq application, chest seals, packing wounds, abdominal wound care.
- types of bleeds and main artery locations
- one man and two man carry’s for extraction

Everyone is a cop and has a basic understanding of stop the bleed type of training but I thought it would be a nice refresher.

Anything else important to add? Thanks

What is a charcoal basket for?

Hello, I am new to the Weber scene.

I constantly see people recommending getting a charcoal basket but I am unsure what exactly it’s used for, also is it the same thing as a slow and sear. And with that what is a slow and sear used for lol

Thank you!
