Curious about strategies

Hi guys! I’m surly new to JRPGS.
I played many styles of games but I love story focused games. Specially old school, short ish games that don’t include a lot of extra content just to make the game longer, and games that you can play without having to check online guides and stuff like that.

I’m in the second palace and very much enjoying the game. I don’t get a lot of time, maybe 4-5hours of gaming per week. So I’m afraid of burnout, and because I’m ADHD my mind wonders easily to wanting to play other games(have a big backlog of course)

So my question is, for those of you that might have similar issues, what’s your strategy to finish the game?

Thank you! ☺️

Newbie question

Hi guys! I’m on the second palace. Quick question, when you do the hold outs. How often should you be asking the personas to join you vs. asking them for money or items?

Thank you! 😊

VHS transfer

Hi guys! Has anyone tried transferring the Special edition vhs on Netflix to a real vhs? I’m keen to try but at the moment not subscribed, and just wondering if the black bars would be present if using a hdmi to composite before I subscribed to try.

Thank you!

Recommendation

Guys! I’m painting the Celestial incidiants, on my sisters for black armour I have used dark reaper, thunder hawk blue and Fenrisian grey, I used the same recipe for the robes to make it easier and not have to get more paints, but feels like it’s too similar.

Do you have any recommendations or suggestions on how to change them a bit ? Maybe a thinned down contrast paint applied over the robes to change the hue slightly?

Thank you!

Damaged box

I took the bet and ordered the collectors edition from Amazon US, delivered to Australia. I couldn’t believe when I picked it up and it came in a paper bag! No protection whatsoever. The offered $100 in amazon cash after raising the issue with them. The contents seems to be ok, so to be honest, the money back would help, as I almost couldn’t afford it, but still hurts to see it like that 🥲

What would you guys do?

Books and movies

Does anyone have a list of books and movies in th vibe of stranger things? Specially the first couple of seasons?

I read “The Institute” by SK and has a bit of a similar feeling. Not as creepy.
Movies: Super 8, E.T. , Goonies…

Any other suggestions? Thank you!!

New to Shadowdark

Hi guys! I’m quite new to TRPGs and just discovered Shadowdark. I live in a rural area and don’t know anyone keen to play so was thinking on running a solo game to see if I like it. I love the feel of the game, but have a quite basic question.

How do the base stats affect the game? I only have the quick start guide, and to me it seems like only the modifiers affect the gameplay?

Or is it up to the GM to make things easier or harder for each character depending on their stats?

Thank you! And hope is not too silly of a question.

Ultra vs evolution

Hi guys! I have been painting miniature for a couple of years. And finally in the market for a proper airbrush. I’m leaning towards H&S as the look less complicated to clean and good quality.

I’m triying to decide if to go for the ultra, which I think is plenty for I want to do. I will be mainly be doing basecoats with it, and maybe some detail work or effects.

Or to spend the extra for an Evolution, mainly because I think it would be handy to not be force to have to press down before pulling back. I know is the correct way, but I feel like it would be nice to learn and get that muscle memory. But again, have only used a cheap airbrush for a bit, so not really experienced.

Thank you so much for any advice!

Recommendations for 500pts

Hi guys! I’m new to 40K, could someone recommend where to start with a list of 500 going to 1000? Thank you!! 🙏

Based on my previous post responses I’m keeping to yellow robes and doing a custom order, order of the last light, survivors from Sotha. 😅

New to sisters and 40K

Hi guys! I’m new to sisters and 40K, I bought the 9th edition combat patrol and a battle sisters squad.

I painted 2 sisters of the combat patrol, but not sure about the scheme. I was going to try another scheme with squad. But I’m not sure what option of weapons and so on. Can anyone help me? I only assembled one with the storm bolter, I think, but then realised maybe is not the best? Quite confused!

This is the scheme I was going for, but I think the yellow will kill me for a whole army. So might go for the red on black, like box art. Thank you!!
