We all have an old car that's worth more to us than the resale value. The day before I turned over the key, my friend offered to photograph me with my loyal steed.
This Vibe picked me up for my first day of high school when it was owned by another (and when it was brand new). Then it joined my family and survived 2 of my sisters driving it. Then I took the wheel and steered her to 250k miles before giving her to a loved one so she'd stay in the family (and on the road).
If she ever dies, we'll bury her out back with the family pets. Til that day, Vibe On.

If you're dangling from the end of a short rope ladder that's secured at the top, you could kick up enough momentum to move pretty far from the horizontal center. If you were dangling from a much longer rope ladder, would your ability to swing away from the horizontal center be reduced?

Is there an applicable equation to calculate the change when using equal kicking force?
(I'm writing a surrealist screenplay where the protagonist will need to swing to the safety of a ledge from a rope ladder that extends into the clouds. But it struck me that this might not be possible if the momentum they kick up is dissipated in multiple ripples that dissipate up the rope.)

Backstory and a question for you below…
My brother cared for 2013 G37 coupe like a child. He cut me a deal on it and my parents offered to deliver it to me several hours away. But first, they stopped by my nephew’s baseball game! What could go wrong?
I’ll say it could’ve been worse, but there are lots of scenarios where it could’ve been better. 😅
I went to have the windshield replaced and the tech called me outside with a concern. He said the panel of trim that runs along the side of the windshield across the top of the windows usually breaks when removed from older models. They are wide and narrow and can get brittle with age (though my car has mostly been kept in a garage). I’ll post a picture of the piece in question in the comments.
The tech wasn’t confident that he could replace the windshield without breaking both sides of the trim. He showed me replacements online that were several hundred dollars each and would require painting to match the car.
He referred me to a friend with his own independent windshield business who is familiar with these models and successfully changed one without breaking a few months ago. I called the guy and he walked me through the options. He said it usually goes well as long as the panels haven’t been improperly reattached with permanent glue, etc. It appears my windshield has been replaced before so that would indicate that the panels are either newer or have been removed successfully. There’s a week of rain on the forecast so I’d have to wait for a clear time to have it replaced.
I don’t doubt the integrity of either guy, the first even refused a tip as a thanks for the heads-up. The second gave some advice for if I did choose to go to one of the mainstream shops. I don’t think I’ll make an insurance claim because the repair might cost less than my deductible.

Will assignments be based on residence of the candidates? Some of them will likely be representing substantially different territories from the ones they signed up for? And some of them will have completely different opponents from the ones they’ve been running against!
How can the state redraw districts without reopening signup for candidates? It’s almost like elections shouldn’t be fundamentally changed while they’re underway.
