Showing my incredibly sensitive 13 year old “Scrubs” all the way through from beginning to end…

And tonight we just started Season 3 Episode 14, “My Screwup”.

She’s already teared up on a few episodes. This episode is gonna break her, but that’s okay. We’ll cry together.

Update: We have cried and dried the tears. It was so good. “Where do you think we are?” hits every time.

You are not owed attention

I don’t know how many times I see this. It happens among all the genders, races, political spectrums, etc., and it’s beyond frustrating. Grown-ups who demand attention. In the last month I have witnessed/been involved with the following:

  1. My (41f) friends (also women in their 40s) were talking outside at lunch. Guy in his 30s pulls up and parks, and on his way inside the building he stops to chat with us. However, he decides he has to STAND WITHIN INCHES of us to do this, proceeding to tip over our water bottles that were on the curbside planters. Then proceeds to scold us when we tell him to back off.

  2. Riding an elevator at work, and it stops on a floor. Older man (doesn’t work there, needs to get to a different floor) gets on, and he decides he has to turn this car of working hostages into his audience and starts immediately preaching his “beliefs”. He isn’t owed attention.

  3. At the pride parade a few weeks ago, there were a few older ladies walking around wearing tshirts that say “Free Mom Hugs”. I really do love that, but what I started disliking was how aggressive these ladies were getting to the crowd. They were almost forcing these “Mom Hugs” on folks, which is never cool.

  4. Both my dad and one of my longtime friends are constantly bemoan being unable to “find love”, but the reality is that they both have this (likely subconscious) belief that the world owes them pussy. Hetero men aren’t owed pussy anymore than hetero women are owed dick.

Lost Phone

This is a very long shot, but my kid was with a group at Henry Doorly Zoo yesterday (Wednesday, 6/10). She set her phone down and can’t remember where at the zoo around 2pm. It’s a black iPhone 7 Plus (I know it’s old, but it still worked) with this case. I don’t have a recent picture of the phone, I’m afraid, but I have a picture of the case. The battery died yesterday before they got back to Lincoln, so Find my IPhone wasn’t helpful. Has anyone seen a random old iPhone 7 Plus turn up, by any chance? Thank you!

My husband won’t wear light gray sweatpants anymore

About a year ago, he had a cardiac arrest at home wearing his. My stepson alerted me, I called 911, started compressions, and they brought him back. After the medically-induced coma and the nearly 2-week hospital stay, he’s back home. We’re both in our very early 40s, and we have a dark sense of humor about the whole thing.

“My wife broke my ribs, because she’s a bitch!” he declared in the hospital.

“My husband’s a little bitch who can’t handle a few broken ribs from his itty-bitty wife,” I would retort back.

He’s 6’7, and I’m 5’8.

Turns out, some folks really do void their bowels when they die.

“Let’s not focus on that part,” he says.

“Want me to replace the light gray sweatpants they had to cut off you that night?”

“No. I don’t want to tempt fate.”

(This was dinner on the one-year anniversary: baked chicken strips and french fries, aka “We got KFC at home.”)

“Though Ricketts did not specify his future steps, he joined U.S. Sen. Ted Budd, R-N.C., on April 20 to introduce the “Marijuana Impact on Medicaid Act of 2026.” The bill seeks to require the U.S. secretary of health and human services to collect data and publicly report to Congress on the cost of hospital and emergency room visits related to marijuana use on Medicaid.”

Why just marijuana? Let’s also assess costs of hospital and ER/ED visits related to alcohol too, Petey.

Why YSK: Companies are constantly putting products through research & development, and newer reviews of the product will likely reflect newer changes. The overall rating of the product may be high, but if the last year or two of reviews portray a 1-2 star rating for the same reason(s), the product may not be a good fit.

Edited based on some great feedback and TIL: Especially if the seller is Amazon or using Amazon platform, after filtering by “Most recent”, double check the date and the product being reviewed, as sellers occasionally reuse review pages - the review you’re reading may not be the product you’re considering.
