Just got this email from theater ears. My week is so packed. I really hope I can find time to watch this.
As the title says. I saw Spider-Man last night in standard and then went back this morning and watched it and ScreenX.
This is my first screen experience. It’s cool, but I don’t really think it’s worth the extra money.
It’s not the whole film, but it is action sequences, sequences outside, very emotional sequences. The projectors slowly dim off when they turn off and they slowly fade up when they turn on.
For the most part, the movie is a 4K center cut full screen of the film. So instead of a wide screen like you’re gonna see in most theaters it is, as far as I can tell, a 4:3 up to the ceiling, and wall-to-wall. Which I think is pretty great because it really takes up the entire front of the theater, which is neat. You’re not seeing a bunch of black space above or below the image.
My theater was relatively empty and I took a couple photos of the moments, my screen brightness was all the way down flash was off. I kept it very close to my chest so the photos aren’t great. I don’t know if I can post those here but I’ve got them if I need to reply with a comment to show people.
For the four dollar up charge with unlimited, it might be worth it just to check it out, but if I had to pay a premium format price, I don’t think I’d get my moneys worth. I would rather pay extra for RPX or IMAX.

Adding an edit after talking to a friend. I guess it’s still 16:9. Just not as wide as the standard release. So in comparison it does NOT look very widescreen.
I’d like to add, I know the 90min rule. This happened with grogu a few months ago too. Specifically on opening weekend.

My kid is about to start middle school, they need a way to communicate with us, but we’re not ready to get them a phone yet.
I got him an Apple Watch cellular version for his upcoming birthday. But I don’t want it connected to my phone number on Visible.
I have a spare android phone that I think what I need to do is set it up on Visible with an account and then add the Apple Watch to that number?
Edit: just read in another thread that it makes more sense to get a US mobile watch only account.

Edit 3: ok, so, it was a pain in the ass but only because I’m a tech guy and tried to fix it myself. 🤷🏼♂️ I finally got on chat with US mobile and they were great.y phone locked me out from setting up cellular on the watch because it knows visible can’t do it. It even tried to push the Verizon network to it. I had to update everything. Put the phone in airplane mode, keep WiFi and Bluetooth on. Then US mobile pushed a new eSIM. I rebooted the watch and kept the phone in airplane mode. Then went to setup cellular again and it was no longer greyed out. It asked to setup a Verizon network, they said that was normal, and it completed very quickly. Tested and all works great. .

As the title says, I can’t really handle horror movies and I can really only watch them when I’m with friends.
I’ve been hearing so much about obsession online and at work that I finally bit the bullet and watched it. Sadly, none of my buddies were available.
Well first of all, Inde is so gorgeous and, after watching this movie, an incredible actress, holy shit. The whole movie feels like a film festival submission that my friends and I would work on but x100.
Act 2 was by far the absolute hardest thing I’ve had to watch in a while. To give you some context, I’ve never been able to watch VVitch, I had to finish the last act of hereditary on silent, on my phone and at 2x speeds with one eye, I almost crawled out of my seat while watching Hokum, and I still have nightmares about Smile 2.
During this movie I almost left the theater twice because I figured “not gonna get better than this, I’m out” but I’m glad I watched all of it. Once during act 1 right after it gets weird and once in act 2 in the midst of the weirdness.
Feel like everyone is giving it a 8 or 9 out of 10. And im probably closer to a 7/10? Maybe 8/10.
My god, it was just … fuck … it’s just sitting in my bones right now while I sit and wait to watch the new robinhood movie.
What the actual fuck? You had another quarter mile until that lane naturally gets off to 275. But you completely stopped at 7:35 in the morning. Possibly one of the busiest times on that chunk of Highway.
