I think I made a huge mistake taking out this unsecured loan I honestly don’t know what I was thinking. I took out an unsecured loan at 21% interest, and only after getting into it did I really start noticing all the additional fees and charges plus you start paying the loan literally the following month no grace period whatsoever.

The interest alone is painful, but the fees make it feel even worse. Miss a payment, and that amount is added to the balance and still expected to clear the increased amount within the same month. Now I’m constantly stressed about the balance growing and trying to keep up with payments. It feels like once you fall behind, it becomes much harder to catch up.

To be honest my life was better before taking this loan. Don't be like me

In my view, Kenya's Police Service is facing one of the most challenging periods in its history since independence.

Historically, the Kenya Police Service, under its slogan "Utumishi Kwa Wote", was regarded as a symbol of public service and a key pillar of Kenya's Republic security. In recent years, however, the institution has increasingly been associated with allegations of kidnappings, excessive use of force, and extrajudicial killings.

Following the June 25, 2024, anti-Finance Bill protests during which numerous Gen-Zs lost their lives in incidents involving police - the service has again come under intense public scrutiny. Today, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced that police officers are among those implicated in the killing of renowned medical doctor Victoria Nthunya Mutiso.

These developments have raised serious questions about accountability, public trust, and the future of policing in Kenya.

What are your thoughts? Do you believe confidence in the Kenya Police Service can be restored? Share your views.

I’ve been shopping online for a car mostly in Uganda and Tanzania markets - I'm eyeing an old 2007 car since prices there are really good. I have friends and relatives in Uganda and Tanzania and the car can be in their name since I can't register more than 8 old car in Kenya. On paper, bringing an older car with foreign plates to Kenya is no brainer the problem starts when you are driving around. For anyone who has had experience driving a foreign-plated vehicle here in Kenya, how is the traffic police situation, is it constant target for stops even if your COMESA insurance and KRA permits are valid? Also, how tedious is the permit renewal process, and is the overall hassle worth the savings? Appreciate any honest advice!

Been job hunting and a week ago I applied for a mid-level designer role in a certain company in Europe. On my portfolio I've not indicated where I come from, you cant find any info on things like country etc. just name and brief bio and the rest. On Resume it's just email and linkedin link. All my previous roles have been remote. So I got an interview invite I confirmed availability but a small issue happened, recruiter wanted to know where I'm currently based and timezone, and I said let me be open. Booom! ghosted.
