È un periodo delicato in cui i rapporti tra USA e EU sono molto delicati, nonostante questo continuiamo ad usare servizi americani e tra i peggiori c'è Windows installato su ogni macchina anche governativa.

Non sarebbe ora di iniziare a staccarci da esso e usare distribuzioni linux, oltre ad essere più economico, non siamo più influenzati dai requisiti alti che vengono richiesti e ovviamente sono più incentrati sulla privacy.

Questo dubbio mi è venuto mentre stavo al dentista, il dentista usava ancora Windows 7, una distribuzione linux soft come mint lite era perfetta.

So che le risposte saranno "molti software non ci sono su linux", ma è anche vero che più la gente usa linux e più c'è richiesta di fare software per quest'ultimo.

Pure i servizi office, perché pagare una licenza costosa quando hai libreoffice, onlyoffice che fanno le stesse cose (o quasi) ma a niente, poi ovvio chi ci lavora può versare un contributo di pochi euro.

Spero tanto che l'Europa capisca che avere spyware installati sui nostri computer non sia tanto sicuro.

Nessuno vieta a Microsoft ed Apple di sbandierare i nostri dati alla casa Bianca.

P.s. MacOS idem, anch'essa è americana e sarebbe bello staccarsi anche da essa, nonostante sia più solida di Windows.

Premessa: sono un utente Linux dal 2022, ho usato Linux Mint fino al 2025, poi con il secondo computer ho iniziato a usare Windows 11 per giocare. Un mese fa stavo per abbandonare Windows 11 e usare Bazzite esclusivamente per il gaming. Ho notato un problema che non ho ignorato: manca PredatorSense, l'unico software che controlla le ventole, i livelli di gioco e l'illuminazione della tastiera. Ho provato Asense (una versione amatoriale di PredatorSense) ma niente, è compatibile solo con Ubuntu e Arch Linux. Inoltre, Bazzite è immutabile e non mi aiuta. Ho provato Coolero ma non rileva i driver e non mi permette di impostare le ventole.

Mi restano 3 opzioni: tornare a Windows 11 (cosa che rifiuto, detesto quanto sia un software inutile) o passare a Ubuntu o Arch Linux.

Ti chiedo se conosci un'altra soluzione, mi trovo bene con Bazzite e non vorrei cambiare.

Ho escluso l'uso di macchine virtuali, non funzionano e utilizzo il dual boot su SD.

Ormai chiunque abbia toccato un videogioco in vita sua ha sicuramente provato o ceduto la sua anima ad un gacha game. Questi videogiochi li reputo i più subdoli, vanno a colpire quella fetta di pubblico che vuole giocare un pò al giorno, per poi diventare una routine quotidiana.

La trappola è sempre uguale, si parte con tante ricompense iniziali, avanzamento veloce e progressione soddisfacente per poi collassare ad un punto prestabilito. La dopamina scende e le soluzioni sono tre: ti caghi il cazzo e passi avanti, continui a giocare sapendo che è soltanto un passatempo e ultimo apri il portafoglio. Ma la cosa bella è che shoppare non ti assicura di ricevere l'oggetto o il pg che desideri ma è relegato a percentuali cosi minime che hai più probabilità di essere morso da uno squalo, una marea di informazioni secondarie sui pull che pare di leggere i termini e servizio di utilizzo di un telefono.

Il gioco inoltre usa una valuta premium in game per non farti capire quanti soldi hai speso per farti dissociare dalla realtà, anzi il gioco incentiva a spendere di più e costantemente, tanto ormai il cervello è gia fritto.

Ormai ogni gacha f2p, tranne rari casi, hanno sempre uno stile anime, come mai? Beh, puoi sessualizzare a bestia, puoi implementare tutti i kink e fetish di ogni utente, il velo anime lo copre e lo rende più accettabile. E poi sono fatti in Corea, Giappone e Cina dove ormai gli utenti sono completamente succubi del gambling e delle microtransazioni. Non che l'Italia sia meglio, ogni mese spacchiamo record sul gioco d'azzardo.

Le robe uniche e a tempo determinato sono meravigliose, immagina giocare con l'ansia che se non fai in tempo, perdi per sempre quel personaggio, perché all'inizio è potente, poi viene "powercreppato" di nascosto per invogliarti a continuare questo circolo malato. So che molti sono f2p oppure spendono quel paio di euro al mese, ma andate a vedere quante ore ci avete speso, non escludo che leggerete oltre tre zeri.

Ma perché faccio tutto questo pappone, beh immaginate di aver perso ore, soldi e pazienza per potenziare il vostro account ma staccano la spina perché il gioco non fa quadagnare abbastanza? Tutto il vostro investimento va a puttane. Queste aziende non si impegnano a fare una versione offline, preparano il prossimo gacha f2p per spremere anche su quello. Un gioco singleplayer, se l'azienda fallisce, puoi ugualmente giocarci (tranne rari casi), lo moddi, ci puoi fare qualsiasi cosa, questi giochi no, ti prendi solo una pernacchia e un messaggio di scuse scritto con deepseek.

Questo post vuole indurre a non giocare più questi giochi? No la vita è vostra, semplicemente state attenti alle ore che ci investite e soprattutto i soldi.

After three years of not touching my Nintendo Switch 1, I decided to buy the Nintendo Switch 2 and I don't regret it. The first time I turned it on, it reminded me of the excitement I had with Switch 1 in 2017. On the first setup, good Nintendo, I managed to import literally everything in 10 minutes from switch 1 to switch 2. Here the trauma begins, in 2017 32 gb + 128gb, for a full user physical games, it was a lot of space. Now the basic memory has increased to 256 gb, simply by exporting everything and upgrading to the switch version, I reach full memory at almost 3/4 of the work. Unfortunately, in 2026, 256 GB of memory is too little for gaming, maybe 512 GB would have been better, it would have cost 40/50 euros/USD more but it wouldn't have bothered me. Yes, I can increase the memory with the microsd express, unfortunately they are very expensive and by calculating what I want to buy I need a 512gb one.

I put my hand on my conscience and raise the games that I'm definitely not going to play anymore. The boost mode is great, the image it returns is really beautiful and colorful. The Nintendo Switch 2 panel, despite being a lecd, is really shiny. It's not at the level of Steamdeck OLED, of course, that's an OLED screen. Many people have complained about the handle, for me, it's comfortable and I didn't feel tired holding it. Maybe I'm used to three years with the SteamDeck. Now the battery, which is great for Nintendo Switch 1, Indie and AA games, lasts even longer than Nintendo Switch OLED. Conversely, with Nintendo Switch 2 games I have an average of 2 hours maximum session, which is that I lowered the charging limit to avoid battery wear. I use it just outside the house so I didn't feel the weight of the small capacity, plus 2 USB c connections are extremely convenient when you have to play in portability. For games, I tried all the Switch 1 games with various updates, then I played boldly default remastered, nothing to say, Nintendo is Nintendo and it's a game-side guarantee.

Will Nintendo Switch 2 now become my main console? I doubt, I have over 1200 games on Steam that deserve to be finished. I think having a PC and Nintendo Switch 2 is the best pairing of machines you can have. On the one hand, it covers AAA, retrogaming, multiplayer, indie, etc., and on the other hand, it covers that beautiful universe of Nintendo games.

For game prices, as I've been doing for 10 years now, I always use games, I save a lot and I can afford to buy more games. For third-party AAAs, I find the PC world even better, the war between steam, gog, epic and company allows better game prices. On the other hand, Nintendo eshop is the only store (similar to ps store), so prices may be less competitive, and the market for green keys for Nintendo games is now dead. I remember in 2020 when I bought a lot of switch games at 40 euros at d1 thanks to key sites. Following materials, the Switch 2 is really well made, great heat management and the magnetic Joycons are much more robust.

The serious criticism I make of Nintendo is the lack of support for mouse mode, it is the most convenient thing that exists both to play and to navigate and it is so poorly implemented. It is a crime that I can not play some visual novels with the mouse, I hope that support will be extended.

Ultimately, I like the Nintendo Switch 2 a lot, it looks good next to my Steamdeck Oled and my PC, I love 360-degree gaming and these machines make me enjoy it so much. Moreover, a round of applause for Nintendo that still cares about the physical games market, I hope it will last a long time.

Dopo tre anni che non toccavo più la mia Nintendo switch 1, ho deciso di comprarmi la Nintendo switch 2 e non me ne pento. La prima volta che l'ho accesa mi ha ricordato l'emozione che avevo avuto con switch 1 nel 2017. Sulla prima configurazione, brava Nintendo, sono riuscito a importare letteralmente tutto in 10 minuti da switch 1 a switch 2. Qui inizia il trauma, nel 2017 32 gb+ 128gb, per un utente full giochi fisici, era tantissimo spazio. Ora la memoria base è aumentata a 256 gb, semplicemente esportando tutto e facendo gli aggiornamenti per la versione switch raggiungo la memoria piena a quasi 3/4 del lavoro. Purtroppo nel 2026, 256 gb di memoria sono troppo pochi per il gaming, forse 512gb sarebbe stato meglio, sarebbe costata 40/50 euro/USD in più ma non mi avrebbe dato fastidio. Si, posso aumentare la memoria con la microsd express, purtroppo sono molto costose e facendo i calcoli su quello che voglio comprare mi serve una da almeno 512gb.

Mi metto una mano sulla coscienza e levo i giochi che sicuramente non userò più. La modalità boost è ottima, l'immagine che restituisce è veramente bella e colorata. Il pannello della Nintendo switch 2, nonostante sia un lcd, è davvero splendente. Non è ai livelli di steamdeck OLED, ovviamente, quello è uno schermo oled. Per l'impugnatura, molti si sono lamentati, per me, è comoda e non ho sentito stanchezza nel tenerla in mano. Forse sono abituato a 3 anni con la steamdeck. Ora la batteria, è ottima per i giochi Nintendo switch 1, indie e AA, dura anche di più di Nintendo switch oled. Viceversa, con giochi Nintendo switch 2 ho una media di 2 ore massimo di sessione, preciso che ho abbassato il limite di ricarica per evitare l'usuramento della batteria. La uso poco fuori casa per questo non ho sentito il peso della poca capacità, inoltre 2 attacchi USB c sono estremamente comodi quando devi giocare in portabilità. Per i giochi, provati tutti i giochi switch 1 con i vari aggiornamenti, poi ho giocato bravely default remastered, nulla da dire, Nintendo è Nintendo ed è una garanzia lato giochi.

Nintendo switch 2 ora diventerà la mia console principale? Dubito, ho oltre 1200 giochi su steam che meritano di essere finiti. Penso che avere un pc e Nintendo switch 2 sia la miglior accoppiata di macchine che si possa avere. Da un lato copri gli AAA, retrogaming, multiplayer, indie ecc, dall'altra copre quel bellissimo universo dei giochi Nintendo.

Per i prezzi dei giochi, come faccio da ormai 10 anni, vado sempre di usato, risparmio tanto e posso permettermi di comprare più giochi. Per gli AAA third party trovo ancora meglio il mondo pc, la guerra tra steam, gog, epic e compagnia permette miglior prezzi dei giochi. Viceversa, Nintendo eshop è l'unico store (analogamente a ps store), per questo i prezzi possono risultare meno competitivi, inoltre il mercato delle chiavi (green) dei giochi Nintendo è ormai morto. Ricordo nel 2020 quando compravo una marea di giochi switch a 40 euro al d1 grazie a siti di key. Lato materiali, switch 2 è davvero ben fatta, ottima gestione del calore e i joycon magnetici sono molto più solidi.

Grave critica che faccio a Nintendo è il poco supporto della modalità mouse, è la cosa più comoda che esista sia per giocare che per navigare ed è cosi poco implementato. È un crimine che non posso giocare alcune visual novel con il mouse, spero che verrà esteso il supporto.

In definitiva, Nintendo switch 2 mi piace molto, sta bene vicino alla mia steamdeck oled e al mio pc, amo il gaming a 360 gradi e queste macchine mi fanno godere tanto. Inoltre un applauso a Nintendo che ancora ha a cuore il mercato dei giochi fisici, spero che durerà ancora per molto.

The thing that surprised me the most was how easy it was to install a linux distro and how few things it asked for, but Windows instead became too logorrheic, it asks you to subscribe to the gamepass, to subscribe to copilot 365, accept for the position... no enough I just want to use my computer, if I have to do special things I have to decide. Every linux distro, on the other hand, is a username, password, date and time and partition and that's it, it takes a lot to do something like this.

I open the taskbar of any Linux distro for the first time and there is nothing, not even a video player, great for me that I decide what I need to install and what I don't. There is Firefox, I like it, it also supports ublock origin. Then there's Windows that if you have the misfortune to buy a laptop there's an avalanche of useless blotware, copilot 365, copilot, teams, Bing or edge (I don't remember what it downloads now), not to mention the proprietary blotware apps of acer, Asus and company. It's solved by doing a nice reinstallation, but I know how to do it, the over-50-year-old boomer or the kid just navigated no, and it goes on with a machine that's going to drop because of useless stuff and it's not going to use. You can also uninstall, but they remain in the registers.

Then Windows "forced" to put the copilot key... first who actually uses it, second thing is uncomfortable, I lost the number of times I pressed arrow up instead of sending, but you're dumb.

It's the first button I reconfigured, and now it opens up directly to Steam.

On one thing, Windows beats Linux, video games with kernel-level antiques, but there it's the devs instead of Linux, but I'm still an antisocial, single-player game, I don't feel the suffering.

Let's talk about sub-processes, how is it possible that Windows, at least 8~10gb of ram, has to take them at startup, I have 32, it's not a problem but I put myself in the shoes of someone who has only 16, is always on the limit and is forced to do a nice cleaning. Linux mint, on the other hand, only 4 gb of ram, buzzes only 6 gb of ram at startup. I know that unused ram is wasted ram, but if you use it for crap, you don't.

Temperatures: the difference is minimal, maybe on linux I feel it heats up less but I'm not prodigeek.

Terminal: the most used excuse to demolish linux, thanks to the ia and guides that you find on the internet, using it is bullshit, paradoxically I use it more on Windows than on linux, it is convenient, it is linear, which costs you to learn two cross commands.

There would be a long discussion about how Windows secretly collects your data for its own benefit, but there I am ignorant and risk only being alarmist.

Premessa: sono un giocatore pc e console, mi piace giocare a tutto, anche la roba semisconosciuta, ma questo periodo di crisi di semiconduttori e licenziamenti mi sta deprimendo.

Ho ricominciato a giocare i giochi della mia infanzia (ps2, xbox e Nintendo ds), mi sono sentito felice e senza tutto lo stress provocato da questo periodo. Riscoprire vecchie glorie con hardware moderni a disposizione mi ha ricordato quanto a quei tempi le preoccupazioni erano poche e giocare era solo giocare.

La situazione peggiorerà sempre di più fino a quando non scoppia la bolla dell'ia, non succederà, io mi sono messo l'anima in pace, la mia unica consolazione è che grazie al one piece possiamo recuperare i giochi vecchi e giocarli, vanno bene anche su 4-6gb di ram, intrattengono e ci fanno sorridere.

Non voglio assolutamente sminuire i bei giochi usciti in questi anni, ma ormai è sempre più difficile rendere questo hobby il meno costoso possibile.

Ricordatevi solo che andando indietro negli anni esistono migliaia di videogiochi in attesa di essere rigiocati e farci nuovamente emozionare, forse è l'unica consolazione di come ormai il gaming sta diventando sempre più costoso e inaccessibile.
