Polaris Sportsman broken tab on front rack/cover

I have a 2019 Sportsman 450. The front pivot pins broke or vibrated out ant the lid came off. I ordered a new pivot bracket and pins. When I went to put it back together, one of the plastic tabs on the lid is broken off. I really don’t want to buy a whole new lid.

Looking for ways to fix this.

I have some 3m Super-Fast Repair Adhesive, 04747 that I used on my ford to repair the taillight tabs. I am wondering if this could be used to construct a whole new tab? Or alternatively fabricate a steel tab and glue it on?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

New chick this morning.

Bronze hen has a surprise for us this morning. She was setting three eggs. I don't know if there are more under her.

She was on a clutch of 6 last year and one of the "helpers" accidentally collected the eggs. I was pissed.

The only cock with her is a bronze white-eye. Not sure if she has pied or white eye. What is the method of inheritance for the pied and white eye?

Front cover on Polaris Sportsman

I have a 2019 Polaris Sportsman with the front storage compartment . There is a cover over it that has two latches on the back. One latch has been broken for a long time. The other broke recently. It has been vibrating a lot.

Wednesday the front hinge pins must have vibrated out and the entire lid came off, hitting the rider in the head. 3 staples. Yeah I know they should have been wearing a helmet, but they weren’t.

I think only one side vibrated out because the other side of the pivot. Racket is all bent up.

I need to find all the parts to fix this. New hinge pins, new latches, pivot bracket, and new spring/cable retainers.

I found a blow up with a diagram, but only some of the parts seem to be order-able. I found the spring/cables and the pivot bracket.

The latches may be some standard off the shelf latches, but I don’t know where to search.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Cub Cadet ProZ drive belt replacement?

My grandson was mowing the lawn and told me he threw a drive belt on our Pro Z 100. It happened once last year and got terribly jammed between the pulleys and the little electric connector for the drive. After much cussing, I finally got it back on.

Well this time it is broken. Looks like something cut it. In the past with my Dixie Chopper, when I broke a belt they always looked terribly worn. This one looks perfect except it is broken.

I went to YouTube to watch an instructional video, but only found one where the guy spent 8 minutes complaining about how bad the design was. Here… https://youtu.be/EMIxSv2P\_bc?is=UersvaiD4Yeu39Oy

Anybody have a step by step instructional on how to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Better buckets

I have several different pens, with Chickens, peacock, pheasants, etc. we have been using these feeding ports that are installed in 5 gallon buckets for years.

Unfortunately, the buckets get brittle and usually start breaking off around where the lid snaps on. Once they get brittle, I tried transplanting the ports into a new bucket, but the ports usually get broken when I try to take them out also.

Does anybody have any good recommendations on this?

Fasting and Thyroid problems?

I have been a frequent faster and much improved my health and weight. Today I was talking to a long time friend that I haven't seen in a while and she told me that she wished she could try fasting but can't because of her Thyroid. I am not sure what is going with her Thyroid, but some doctor told her she couldn't fast.

What would be some reasons why fasting would be bad for someone with thyroid problems?

Concrete Block Wall Joint Repair?

https://preview.redd.it/8hvjb9v3h7fh1.jpg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5fb8eef6c27e2f5352f4a4ae23ec7e2c8b1ca851

We have a 2 story building that the entire first floor is concrete block. Was built in 1998. We are in Eastern Ohio with a lot of rain and some very cold temperatures in the winter.

About 15 years ago, we noticed some crumbling mortar and had a concrete guy come out and scrape out the crumbling morter and retuck the joints. About 10 years ago, it was happening again and the CEO of our company went to Lowes and bought a case of Silicone caulk and had someone just fill all the cracks and repaint the wall.

I know absolutely nothing about concrete block construction, but I know that blocks are porous and to my mind this seemed like it would just trap any water behind the silicone and while it was hiding the damage, the damage would likely get worse.

Had a local handyman stop by today and look at it. His recommended fix was:

I am wondering if this the the best way to deal with this. It seems that the DAP Latex Caulk is about the same as the silicone stuff we put on there last time.

I found a product at Lowes called Quikrete Mortar Repair. https://www.lowes.com/pd/QUIKRETE-10-oz-Mortar-Repair/3043222

Seems like both of the types of caulk are only cosmetic. Some mortar is crumbly an inch deep. Would it be better to repoint all this with Type S Mortar?

Any recommendations please.

Walking from the 5 chord to the 4.

I am working on an 8 bar blues song that has this progression. It has a shuffle beat.

| E7 / / / | B7 / / / | A7 / / / | A7 / / / |

| E7 / C#7 / | F#7 / B7 / | E7 / / / | B7 / / / |

Walking most of these changes is pretty straightforward. Walking from the B to the A is not clearly apparent.

The best I ended up with was walking up the triad, then playing G-B-Bb as a triplet to the A.

Any better ways to play this change?

Blendtec base or jar?

So I have a 10 or 12 year-old Blendtec. I haven’t used it much in the last four or five years. Today, I was making some keto chicken crust pizza and was going to pulverize raw chicken for the recipe. I loaded the chicken into the blender and it ramped up pretty good at first, and then, as it got more chopped up, it started bogging down and making noise. I shut it off gave the chicken a stir and went to restart and it would not restart. Message on the screen said overheat protection or something like that.

I let it cool for a while and tested with just water and it ran ok.

I noticed that the bearing on the jar seems to be a little stiff. I assume it won’t free spin like a fidget spinner, but seems that it takes more effort than it should.

This is my second jar. The first one had the bearing get so stiff that it was very difficult to move at all.

What thinketh Reddit?

Phot of jar with some freeze dried eggs that I was about to powder-ize .

Best way to connect 3/4 water line to 1/2 drip distribution line?

I have a 3/4 water line ran that I tried to use for drip-irrigation. I can't get the emitters installed in the line because it is too heavy. I need to keep my 3/4 supply line and switch out to 1/2 drip line to install the emitters. I have 4 places that I will need to convert from one to the other.

What is the best way to make this connection with the fewest fittings?

Will a 3/4 to 1/2 barbed coupler work for this?

Wrong mainline for drip irrigation?

I have a row of grapevines. I ordered 1/2 gal/hr emitters. I have a 20psi regulator and a filter. I picked up 3/4” poly line from Lowe’s for the mainline.

I have the punch tool. I punched holes, but no way can I push the emitter in. I have broken several trying to use the other end of the punch too to push them in.

I came to the conclusion that 3/4 poly is the wrong line.

What kind of line do I need that will work with the drip emitters? Is it something that I have to order off the internet or will it be available at Lowe’s?

Bronze?

I hatched these chicks last summer. I have a pair of bronze pied white eye, 2 pairs of black shoulder, and a blue white eye pied with a black shoulder hen.

These are starting to look like bronze. I have seen one with tail feathers up, but neither one looks like my bronze hen. Two cocks?

And my pair. And my blue pied white eye.

Chicks

Out at work we have several Peafowl. We bought them one or two at a time at the Mt Hope exotic bird sale.

No mating plan but we bought cocks and hens. I do for sure have a pair of bronze pied white eyes that aren’t with any other peafowl.

I have some cock that I know are pied and/or white eye. I know I have one black shoulder cock and I think maybe a black shoulder hen.

I think one of the hens is supposed to be violet.

My wife collected all the eggs for several days and we put them in our incubator. The first two hatched this morning.

We have hatched some before and raised 4 from last year. 3 others hatched but died. So I’ve seen some chicks. Never seen a yellow chick before. There is another yellow that hasn’t dried off.

Are the yellows likely pied or maybe leucistic? Can two birds with pied genes produce leucism?

The first two hatched this morning.

Emitter size?

My father has some grape vines. There are drip lines and emitters on there. He recently added additional plant, so I was going to order some more emitters.

Trying to figure out what the GPH is so I can order similar emitters.

I see 266 printed on the black part.

I have purchased L Reuterei from a couple different place. Dr Davis’s website directly and from a different site. I just saw some on Amazon that seems too cheap compared to what I have bought before. Here is the link…

Coolinario L Reuteri Probiotics for Digestive Health | 50 Billion CFU | Lactobacillus Reuteri Supplement | 60 Vegetarian Capsules | 1 Daily Capsule, 2 Month Supply (1-Pack) https://a.co/d/0cypCWGy

This is way more affordable than than the Oxicetics on Amazon - here…

MyReuteri™ 10 Billion CFU Probiotic – Foundational-Strength L. reuteri LRDR™ + FOS Prebiotic – by Dr. William Davis – Makes Yogurt-Like Superfood – 30 Veg Capsules https://a.co/d/04eNk179

The budget brand claims 50 billion CFU vs 10 billion from Dr. Davis.

Thoughts?
