I’m rereading The Handmaid’s Tale book. That has me wondering why the series’ producers chose to not include television. In the book and the film, the regime uses television to broadcast their propaganda and keep the citizens’ spirits ‘up’.
They could even have included radio, but the only station in the series is Free America, an illegal one.
She’s absolutely despicable and deserves more hate! PrOnTo!!!!
And Avril Fox deserves more love. She ended up being one of the kindest souls in Call the Midwife!

I was diagnosed with hEDS almost 4 years ago.
6 days ago I paid a lovely visit to the ER due to… tummy pain. It started suddenly and it woke me up. A very minor ailment, unless your collagen is shitty. The family physician was worried about an aneurysm, because he was able to feel my tummy aorta beating (and my blood pressure was bonkers, thank you dysautonomia for giving me wonky BP that can’t decide between being high or low! And I had tachycardia and fever), so he sent me to the ER to get an angiogram.
My veins weren’t very eager to be pricked. The lovely nurse had to insert the IV twice. She was very kind, but my veins weren’t. Thank goodness I’m a very good soldier, used to needles.
Shitty collagen. Shitty veins. Here’s the result, 6 days later. I’m not complaining, tho. I turned out to be just gastroenteritis 😀
I’m fully recovered and eating everything I love again! Yay spicy food! Yay salt! (My sodium is low-ish, so I need to eat salty stuff. That makes me very happy!)
This is my biggest haematoma so far, and I’ve been here for almost 36 years. Let’s see how it goes.
Do you have similar stories?
Edit: yeah, my watch band leaves a mark. Thank you doctor Ehlers and doctor Danlos! 🥰
Season 10, episode 12. Poor Abby, she’s a magnet for ‘creative’ parents 😆
My Biological Daughters, Selise Geneva (torbie, 1, adopted after I lost my adored first kitty, Eva) and Iris Paula (black, 9). They used to hate each other, but here we are 😀
They aren’t just cats. They’re family.
I bought a copy of that book a couple of years ago and I’m glad to be able to share some interesting pictures with you, fellow Pharma fans!
From ER.
Hi there!
I’m a 35F whose bloodworks have been choppy her entire life. I’ve gotten iron infusions in 2022 and 2024 due to restless leg syndrome. Today I got an interesting and confusing result:
80,1 ng/mL ferritin (it used to be around 30 before the infusions)
18,6% iron saturation (not the lowest I’ve had. My lowest has been around 16%)
348 TIBC (not the highest I’ve had. My highest has been over 400)
White cell count absolutely normal
13,1 gr/dL haemoglobin (better than my pre-infusion levels, that were around 12)
37,5% haematocrit
2,3 mg/L CRP (no inflammation then. It’s always been around that level)
What the helly is going on? Has that happened to you? My doctor is going to see me in a week, but I’m a curious mind.
