WATERMEON BABIES….

I really need someone to advise me on how to plant these babies? Do I plant them in with the mother stem still attached? Or do I cut a couple of centimetres above the babies on the mother stem and chop her away??
I’m just a bit unsure because all the babies are at the bottom of the main stem aren’t they gonna suffocate when I bury them?

Opinions?

I’ve inherited mums plants (which Ive been looking after for quite a while now anyway, but mum passed away less than a month ago and although I tied the bigger stems for her ages ago I’ve noticed small stems growing now and notice one in particular nodes are almost on the soil. So am I suppose to tape them up as they get to this size, or do I let th ones root in and grow a smaller layer around the edge of the pot? I havnt had a syngonium at this point yet so I have no idea 🤷🏻‍♀️😬

ID help please?

I was never into syngoniums, but something changed when I cot a cutting from my mum … the last couple months I went a little crazy and couldn’t help myself…but I don’t really have any idea what I have….

SEASON CHANGED is it a lighting problem?

This is mums pothos it absolutely THRIVED this summer (in au) … about 2 months ago when I was here I noticed some leaves loosing variegation, told her to keep an eye on it each new leaf is getting smaller and smaller as well. Mum loved plants but she had stage 4 COPD,, so she couldn’t really play round too much coz she struggled. Mum passed away 2.5 weeks ago it’s now up to me to keep all hers going plus my own …
I’ll eventually move here in the near future.
Right now between 2 houses and want to give both houses the best plant care I can.
We are halfway through winter in au. So lighting has changed since summer. Plant left in same place but been slowly turning it for even lighting.ive just moved it from her bedroom to the living room same same facing windows but longer light…
Thinking of chopping it back to the bigger leaves and seeing how it goes now in longer

ZEBRA PLANT 🌱

I’ve had this zebra plant for a couple of months. It was doing fine. It had really good colour nice and bright and was full. Then all of a sudden the leaves start dropping one by one very slowly till it looks like it does now I can’t find no pests on it although for some reason I can’t stop thinking that thereIs . Watering and light has stayed the same pretty much. Is there any way I can prop the plant and start again?

Zebra plant (I think)

I’m pretty sure it’s a zebra plant, I bought it out of the TINY terrarium section at Bunnings. It’s been fine, it’s actually grew REALLY fast and was thriving… then leaves started dropping one by one… now it’s all leggy… (I know it’s drooping ) I’m about to water all my plants, my mum passed away Saturday so my brain has been everywhere 😕

IM OUT OF MY DEPTH AND CONFUSED🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️😅

FIRST UP -Just want to say I know not 1 thing about begonias - very very new to me! was given 2 long pieces of stem from an old lady that was growing a huge begonia plant in her yard.
One of the stems was half green and half all a browny kinda old looking the other one was mostly green with tiny bits of same old brown on other stem I assumed they were both the same plant? Choooed it up into pieces and threw them in a few different glasses to prop with water… out of 7 only 2 remained. I left them seperate. The first 4 pics was a slow grow for the roots, but it has taken off and got to how it looks now, in a matter of weeks! (But roots took MONTHS!!!!!)
I actually do not remember the green leaf ever being red first???
2nd one it’s roots were REALLY REALLY FAST! I’m not sure what the holes are (maybe humidity ) they pretty much happened as soon as leaf was open and growing…it has BLACK roots!!!? This is how I’m confused.. clearly I can see they may be different? But I’m really not positive? No idea what they are either?

PLEASE, I need advice….

I bought this begonia about 3-5 months ago. Within a month of brining it and some friends home one of its friends had baby mealys so they all got treated and this one’s leaves went horrible!!! All oily and scratchy looking but no shine…
Then leaves started looking wet and then one by ones turning brown then dropping … so about a month ago I ended up downsizing pots by 2 pota(was still on same pot from shop) chopped off the couple leaves left except for the healthiest looking one and hoped for the best (wasn’t holding my breath) life got busy… and bout 3-4weeks later… I find it exactly how you see it now… I was wondering if it would be ok to chop that horrible looking damaged original leaf now?

Watermelon prop-babies

Been propping a couple of watermelon stems in testubes of water (seems like forever 😅) Last weekend I was topping props up and noticed some green, on closer inspection I noticed a teeny green leaf on stem and the start of another. There was almost no water in the tube, so I topped it to where I usually would. I did wonder at the time if I was doing the right thing and pondered the idea of asking reddit plant people, but life got busy … this morning I was checking props and I noticed the original leaf is still there and bigger. There is another stem with tiny bit black in the end and I noticed its tiny leaf is at bottom of tube. And there is a 3rd stem now and one coming out bottom of stem somewhere too.
So my question is What happens now? I feel me topping water was the cause of the teeny leaf to rot and fall off the stem, so is it time to plant it, and if so then how without smothering baby stems? Or do I keep topping up water but just leave the water below the leaf line?(that’s usually what I would do with other props I have?

CHUNKY MIX

I couldn’t find the orchid bar that I use to make my chunky mix so instead I’m using a special orchid bark mix indoor plant mix and perlite. The bag on the left has only in it the chunky orchid mix and perlite The bag on the right has chunky orchid mix premium indoor plant mix and perlite I’m not sure which looks better to use so I wanted everyone’s opinion first.

Watermelon panic!!!!

I’ve had this maybe 2 months? It was in a huge pot started struggling I pulled her out to check roots and could see the pot was way to huge , swapped pots and she started to settle. (I did buy her with a lot of the marks and some damage on her (last one and I was looking for a long time) anyway I recently went away for long weekend came home and she LOOKED TERRIBLE! 2 stems all the way down, all the leaves REALLY SIFT AND ALOT OF THEM CURLED… I had just watered her the day I left so my first thought I must of overwatered her…. I chopped the stems/leaves that wernt gonna bounce back I noticed it looked like the soil mix was like she had been knocked over or something so I fixed it back up and then watered her again and two days later she was sitting up really nice again now five days later I wake up this morning and she’s like this again. Does anyone know what is happening here first? I thought it was overwatering then when I thought she’d be knocked over and looked good again. I thought it must’ve been underwater Ing but now I don’t know what it is. I’m in Australia and it is getting cooler. And I’ve got a heater on very low heat for a couple oI was wondering, is it humidity?

Would these 2 babies be ready to water prop coz it’s my first curly and she’s had 2 babies. I’m in Au and winter starting I want to bring them in though I’m really worried about them carrying pests in and I’m not sure if I can treat them with anything first? Any advice on what to do would be

SOO THIS IS MY PPP 😆

It actually got accidently snapped from mum plant almost 2months ago…. Mum told me to throw it but I couldn’t… I brang her home and put her in this test tube with water and waited a month for any sign of a root lol. Then it’s 3rd leave slowly appeared and the root system you see…. I got a feeling she’s a slow grower maybe coz she was so premmie? (Don’t even know if that’s a thing) anyway I’m sitting here last night wondering if she would do better in airy soil in a tiny nursery pot instead? Any suggestions? I’ve never owned one of these.

Bought this cutting today

I don’t have much experience with this plant, but am thinking it’s not too different to a pothos? So it was in a wine bottle outside a shop. The cuttings they sell stay out over night so I’m not sure if that’s what’s happened to its leaves or if something else is happening but I took it out the bottle it has rooted at the bottom but it’s very leggy looking, so I’m wondering if it is easy enough to prop like pothos? If I cut it half way and put both back in water, the leave end should root like normal and I’m obviously not gonna submerge the whole rooted already stem , I’ll put it in jar with roots covered and put cling wrap over it.

▲ 70 r/orchids

I am very shocked that I only paid $11 for two orchids that look like they’re in pretty good condition. So I’ve brang them home and decided to give them a wash before I put them into new pots and medium…when I was finished washing them I noticed (well looked like) a new stem starting to emerge , so I leaned in for closer look and all of a sudden I seen something really tiny I think it was like a silvery or white colour but it was only like the tip of a pen tiny but it was running really fast. I didn’t see anything else. I looked couldn’t say anything else and I couldn’t find it again so I dumped everything that they were planted in and then realised that maybe I don’t have enough to replant them with just my stuff. I’ve got a little bit of orchid bark chips and a bit of moss. My other one is just in orchid chips and I soak it once a week, it’s not dead so I must be doing something ok? But would it be ok to mix what moss I have here with the small amount of orchid chip that I have here? They have already gone overnight in pots with nothing and I really don’t want them doing it again and dying…. Also does anyone have any suggestions about the tiny bug ? It was small enough to be a mite, and someone had said a wood mite (mites that feed/live in or bark) but apparently won’t hurts my plants?.🌱

I bought mum a epipremnum Pinattum same day I bought mine… they looked fairly similar I’m here now though mine is THRIVING and has reached the second part of the pole (30cm) and is deep green with chunks of white. Mum gets the best light in her place and I have the worst light. She has hers sitting with white wizard 4 different pothos , a pink princess and a smaller monstera plant (long name) but variegated. This plant is almost flat against the stick holding it up. Like dead straight almost… I thought it was something to do with the light a couple of weeks ago… so moved it same spot but different height of sun (thought sun would pull its leaves more foward) but I’m back today and now it’s a horrible green colour compared to what it was…. ROOTS are perfect… 🤷‍♀️her medium is REALLY REALLY DRY THOUGH AND IT was watered 2 days ago… so it’s very thirsty…!!! But I would assume leaves would be dying if it has been getting underwatered for weeks? It’s not heaps root bound or anything either there was still about1-2cm wiggle room when I impotted it. But I just want options on if I should try it in a bigger pot?
