Has anyone gone down a dose when travelling? (italy)

I'm going to italy next week for 3 weeks and then my wedding is 2 months after, I still would like to lose 4-5kgs but I'm happy with me weight at the moment

I am using a 10mg pen and the click method for 6mg which has been a good sweet spot to me, mild symptoms apart from when I eat fatty/heavy foods I will feel nauseous for a bit

I am tempted to only dose about 4mg on the trip because I don't want to be super sick from all the rich food

Has anyone done this and what was your experience like?

Do we think this could be an alternative to contrast baths?

Contrast baths do help me but they are a pain to set up and annoying when travelling, I stumbled across this device and curious if it might have similar benefits?

Shockwave really hurts

Decided to try shockwave for my sesamoiditis after a year of conservative treatments (physio exercises, stiff shoes, contrast baths, fascia release, vit d fish oil mag etc)

My god it was painful only on level 6 (out of 20) it hurt so much that I ended up fainting after 2 minutes lol, I have fainted in the past occasionally and I didn't have a big breakfast but god it wasn't pleasant

Anyone a member at roar active bibra lake?

I am looking at signing up and curious what peoples thoughts are, I am tempted by the wellness package because I am dealing with some chronic injuries and red light/contrast therapy is whats helping at the moment

How busy does the gym get at peak times? Does it feel busy like revo and you're waiting for equipment? Is there an app that tells you how many people there are?

Whats the oasis like? Is that worth it? Does it get busy?

Parents ignoring their physical health is also neglect

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I've come to the realisation how selfish it can be for parents to ignore their health (without selfish intentions). They probably have their own trauma preventing them which I get but my mum has become such a sloth, she just brain rots most days and sees a pt once a week. She is overweight, I realise that until she starts a proper overhaul of her life she is going to struggle when she is older, same with my dad who only walks for exercise and doesn't do weights

Who is going to be looking after them? The kids, especially as the eldest daughter everything will fall on me. I don't want to be taking care of my parents prematurely when if they just worked out earlier they could have prevented it

This obviously excludes medical problems causing issues for exercise already

Could GLP-1's have any impact on this condition?

Probably a niche topic and probably not a lot of evidence about it out there going one way or the other

But especially have been dealing with sesamoid issues for over a year now, possible AVN, bone marrow odema and an ankle surgeon basically saying this is my new normal

I am really curious if there might be any correlation with glp1's as I have been on one this whole time I've had this issue, I know they are meant to reduce inflammation but I have heard they can increase osteoarthritis and right now I just feel a lot of stiffness/aches is my mtp 1st big toe joint but there wasn't any mention of it on my mri

Any thoughts?

Low energy levels but wanting kids?

I have been stuck in freeze for a while now, there have been shifts but my main issue is just not wanting to moving much. The days I get out and get to the gym (I'm not pushing myself overly hard either) I get home and I am drained the rest of the day (no matter what I eat or how much water im drinking)

It doesn't take much to drain my cup, I have been working on hard to keep a calm nervous system to build a healthy relationship with my partner so our future kids have a strong foundation but my biggest fear at the moment is just how drained I can get

My mum was a low effort parent and sat us in front of the tv while she laid on the couch reading, barely played with me or did activities with me (dad was a workaholic avoidant)

I fear that when I have kids I will just have no energy to do all the activities throughout the day while still keep myself fit

Has anyone had any luck in this department? Or parents if this was something that happened to you?

Sinusitis surgery perth? (FESS)

My partner has been suffering with awful sinuses for about 3 years now, his sleep has been awful as a result, very poor energy levels and constantly fatigued all the time

He has had multiple drs visits who have given him a CT scan which just showed a lot of inflammation but they just said allergies and wash his bedding more

He is already doing daily nasal rinses, uses dymista day and night, sleeps upright, uses nasal strips (tried all of them) and we wash the bedding every 3 days + use an air purifier

We are at a loss, to see an ent it could be a year so ive been doing research and I feel it could be something called biofilm and surgery called FESS can have a big help

Does anyone know of any specialists who might have more understanding about this? From what I gather this is an emerging science so not a lot of doctors are clued in on it

Do airwarps work on wavy but thin/fine hair?

I had a dyson years ago but my hair was blonde balayage and even with multiple different tries (spent soo much on products alone) nothing helped with the curls holding from the airwrap tools

I have since chopped a lot of my hair off and have found my hair gets very wavy/curly after airdrying my hair - I have been eyeing the new shark glam tool and curious if its worked out better? I'm hoping with my hair having a wavy texture it might hold better

Small wedding - to have a DJ or just a spotify playlist?

I am having a 28 people wedding at an airbnb end of the year, its pretty chilled but I do have a planner doing everything so that helps lol

I can't decide if we want a DJ or just have a spotify playlist and hire a PA system, I am not planning on setting up a dancefloor or having a specific area for people to dance per say, if they want to they can go for it

We are having 3 speeches but no first dance or anything. What would you guys do? Did anyone regret a DJ or not?

Is anyone else just constantly stuck on the surface with this stuff?

I have been aware needing to heal and actively trying to heal for about 4 years now. I am too self aware which is probably an OCD rumination, lots of second guessing myself and monitoring my thoughts and emotions.

I have tried a lot of exercises, therapies things like TRE etc and even though I can have really cathartic crying sessions, nothing seems to be moving me deeper. I feel like I just stay at the surface (very much in my head a lot too)

I run on the freeze/collapse side of things - very lazy, unmotivated (unless driven by shame) but I know mentally there is a lot of anger/fear and anxiety buried underneath. I just don't have any clue on how to move into those deeper layers, with SE therapists I freeze up and can't really access much and on my own I am monitoring myself too much that nothing really happens

In the excerices I tend to just think of memories to force my body to feel an emotion to try release, if I don't I tend to not feel much even with body scans, it just feels like my normal body

Not sure if I should size down or not

I am usually a size 38 for my arizona birks but read how some people size up for enclosed shoes

I just got my 39's today and they are a smidge long but if I wear them on the tightest hole they are fine (the strap is doing the work to keep them in) but if the strap isn't tight my heel does come out

Apart from that they feel great with no rubbing anywhere and the toe box has enough room for my feet they feel amazing

What would you guys do?

Is it possible to be too frozen/stuck in my mind for somatic experiencing?

I see a lot of suggestions for things like orienting around the room for things that feel good/bad/neutral but as someone so stuck on my head I feel nothing?

Everything feels the same and my mind is doing the 'feeling' same goes for other somatic exercises

Its worst if I am with a therapist because I feel this performance come on so my body shuts down more

Is TRE enough or do I need to do other modalities?

I believe I have some ocd rumination going on. I am highly self aware of my patterns, traumas and constantly playing spectator to my thoughts and life, if im having a good time suddenly my mind will take me out of the present and think things like ' should I be enjoying myself more, am I being too much etc'

The same with healing, I ruminate on the why to my behaviours, who I am am I being authentic but never actually in my body to move these emotions, I've briefly tried every modality like yoga nidra, somatic therapy, qijong, meditation, therapists, IFS and TRE

My issue is if it doesn't work fast I'll give up

My question is, can I simply do tre once a week and just forget about trying to heal? Will tre being doing some stuff in the background or is it better paired with other things?

I have just realised I have rumination OCD...

This has shocked me to my core but I always felt very self aware of my inner thoughts (not my body though), I was constantly analysing my life instead of being preset with it, it got worst after realising I had a not so great childhood and started the healing journey because I then felt like I had to fix myself to this certain level before my life truly started.

I was overthink my emotions for certain events and put so many expectations on myself to feel a certain way and if I didn't I'd ruminate over that. My brain would always pull me out of events and make me a spectator, I'm always mentally narrating my experiences instead of actually feeling them

Sometimes I confused thinking deeply with control seeking, I feel productive scrolling through reddit healing groups and trying different modalities, yoga nidra, SE, qijong, TRE, multiple supplements, meditation, multiple therapies with SE/ IFS etc however I never ever stuck to them because if I don't see improvement instantly I just assume they don't work, so back to the rumination of finding answers but never actually following through

I have no idea where to go knowing this information but I just thought I'd share if it helps someone else

Has TRE unlocked deep fears?

I have been in this functional freeze mode for probably most of my life but since being aware of it it feels like its gotten worst?

I started TRE about a year ago only for a few minutes at a time about a couple of times a week, that only last about a month but nothing groundbreaking happened, i had some releases and nice moments that were short lived

Flash forward to now and I have developed a lot of fears around death, especially with my partner. We want to start a family and my partner is incredible, I will just get sudden intrusive thoughts that he will have a car crash or get cancer or just die at work, I will also worry about me getting sick and dying too

Its only really been happening the past few months but is this was thawing is like?

I haven't done TRE for a while because I feel this weird 'ick' feeling about the thought of doing it, some sort of resistance is there especially doing any other sort of healing work (yoga nidra, somatic stuff, meditation, ifs)

Keeping the gender a surprise if you might have gender disappointment?

Curious to hear peoples thoughts on this!

My partner and I aren't ttc until end of this year, I am also processing a lot of my childhood wounds to break the cycle for my future kids, one thing I can't shake is desperarntly wanting a girl, not because I want a mini me to dress etc, but this unhealthy need to prove to my mum that girls aren't the devil (constantly said she hopes I have a daughter as awful as me and that boys are way easier then girls) and a small part of me wants to have this relationship with a daughter that I never got with my mum.

I had a dream I gave birth last night to a boy and just felt so upset by it, then guilty for feeling that

I know its not healthy, so I am trying to work through it, however those in maybe similar positions, did you find that it was better to find out the gender so you could process it before the baby arrived? Or finding out when they are born was better because by then you don't care and full of love regardless?

Did anyone do the extensive genetic testing before falling pregnant?

My partner and I aren't ttc until end of this year but im trying to get all my ducks in a row. I have already done the free one with fragile x etc but have been thinking about the one that covers over 600 odd genes, its not cheap at nearly $1000

Was it worth it?

I'm not sure if my sesamoiditis is from a toe injury or if its just caused issues with my big toe, but the pain on the bottom of my foot as reduced a lot but im left with a lot of stiffness is that area as well as an achey big toe every time I walk

All my issues are only when I load the big toe, its never sore when sitting or laying down

Has anyone else experienced this before?

Saw a highly renouned sport doctor in my area (Australia) and he basically said he would be very reluctant to do surgery and he doesn't see many of them because of complications, he said he would rather do a surgery on my calf muscles to reduce how tight they are before removing my sesamoids

He also said shockwave/bone stimulator probably wouldn't be very effective and he hasn't seen good results from that when he used them in the past and that this is just something ill have to manage

What do you guys make of this? I can basically live 95% pain free in my birks but my toe just gets stiff, I'm taking vitamin d doing contrast baths wearing toe spaces going on the bike to bring blood flow but my pain levels never really decreased from a 1-2
