Whats your favorite medium to work in and why?

I definitely prefer gouache, having worked in oil and watercolor in the past. Have never dabbled in digital, and would love to hear some pros and cons of switching over!

Kinusaiga - an inescapably compelling art form.

Does anyone else discover a new craft and immediately engage in rabbit hole research in desperation? I simply CANNOT WAIT to give this a try. I'm a sucker for a good textile craft, and the way this marries stained glass and quilting vibes while having the hassle-free detail of being no-sew? I'm completely sold.

I personally was able to get a good supply of scrap fabric from the local quilters' guild, but have seen others say they source from thrifted clothing/sheets as well as deconstructed chindi rugs - given its origin (utilizing offcuts of kimono fabric that otherwise wouldnt have been cherished or appreciated), I feel like the sky is the limit when it comes to creatively finding materials that would otherwise be considered waste. We love sustainability!

Another thing that draws me in is that it appears to be super accessible - you can literally buy kits with precut fabric and foam board, so this feels like something anyone could pick up and enjoy. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are incredibly talented artisans who make complicated works like I shared above. The last example is one I'd consider "beginner friendly" (second to last slide). The last slide is what I'll be doing for my first project, I think (whats up elder scrolls fans ❤️‍🔥✨️).

This blog talks about its relatively short history and lists materials needed, also shows some stunning examples-

This is a short tutorial showing a bit of the process-

Leave me a comment if you'd like me to document my journey trying this out - with any tips, tricks, or headaches I may encounter on the way!

Don't give up, and DON'T pay scalpers -

Grabbed these from plaid room records, seeing them pop up at numerous other indie stores this week as well *at retail price*, after previously being out of stock. (They also arrived within 2 days which is insane to me.) I know a lot of people are wanting physical copies right now so I just wanted to spread some hope ❤️‍🔥

Final sketch for a gouache painting of Joshua Graham (fnv honest hearts dlc)

Before is second slide, first slide is the final sketch im moving forward with. The only feedback I got on my last post is that his torso was flat/lacked depth. Im hoping that this final sketch rectified that issue. For a reference I ultimately modeled my husband, but ive included a few others i used in leiu of sharing that.

Committing to starting the painting process regardless of feedback honestly, but hit me with anything that might stand out so i can keep it in mind while i finish this piece ❤️

I've been wanting to own this for so so long (and missed the repress)

Anybody know whats going on with the typos? Also I'm struggling to nail down the version - given the translucent green this is the 2014 hot topic exclusive repress I think? Anyway, I picked this up on discogs for a really fair price and am so happy to finally add it to my collection.

I used this recipe - https://www.geekychef.com/2010/09/delicious-and-moist-cake.html?m=0

My husband's birthday was last week and I finally made THE cake, it was tremendously good (actually "so delicious and moist"), i highly recommend this recipe. I really thought the kirsch would be overwhelming but it balanced really well with the other flavors. The sour cherries are also super important, I dont think Maraschino would cut it - go for the good stuff!

Also got him a video from ellen mclain on streamily, just in case anyone's not aware shes available for shoutouts!

My husband basically screamed when we saw it on my screen because he had the same one as a kid. Its just so spot on, I thought it was really neat! 🥰

The final version will be ~8x10 and I want to put ratman chicken scratch all over the mat (matted to 11x14).

Ok so theres a Racoon in a box in my backyard..... we found her yesterday evening, and she is still there today.... were not sure if she is just chilling there during the day, which is fine. we dont need the box so she can use it. However, we are wondering if she might be trapped in the box and unable to open it? should I leave the box open so she can get out?

Also does she look injured or sick or rabid? also how old does she look?

I thew her half an apple in case she was starving or something.... Were just confused what to do.

Please advise

EDIT: Ive opened the box and left it open. in case she was stuck and wanted to escape. but maybe im ruining her shade? confused
