Please help. What does dusting buns with rice flour do? Anything?

For contexts, I am making THESE ROLLS tonight and the recipe says to use rice flour for dusting. I couldn't find rice flour at the store, only Robin Hood Gluten Free Flour which contains rice flour, potato starch, pea hull fibre, tapioca starch, and xanthan gum...and I'm starting to think its not the same thing and I don't know if i should use it?

Should I just use regular flour?

Please and thanks!

I complete forgot that Nick Offerman plays cousin Beau!

And the fact that he’s only 33-35 here makes me feel so old for some reason lol!

Does anyone (fellow Canadians maybe) remember clodhoppers?

They have been discontinued for years and i had a craving so I made them myself!
2 cups graham crackers crushed into bite size pieces
1 cup cashews slightly crushed
12 oz white chocolate melted
Toss everything together and spread onto a parchment lined baking sheet and chill in the fridge.
Break into pieces

Am I wrong for not wanting to help with work travel after doing it for years? Why do I feel so guilty?

I’m curious if I’m being unreasonable or if this guilt is just in my head.

For some background, for the last 2–3 years I’ve helped a lot with our sales team, including travelling to conferences and trade shows. It usually meant being away at least one week a month, usually over the weekend, especially during the summer. I missed family gatherings, events with friends, birthdays, and just a lot of weekends that you can’t really get back.

At the beginning of this year, my company informed me we are hiring a new sales/marketing team. I specifically asked my boss if I’d still be expected to travel, and he told me no, aside from maybe helping occasionally if needed.

Yesterday, my boss asked if I could cover two conferences -one at the end of August and another two weeks later. His reason was that the sales team is new, and his daughter (who also works here) is pregnant, so he doesn’t want her travelling.

Here’s where I’m conflicted. When I wanted to travel and was eager to help, there were multiple times I got sidelined because his daughter and boyfriend (who doesn’t even work for the company) were sent instead. That stung a bit.

I told him I’d check my schedule because my summer is already busy with two weddings this fall and all the related events happening on weekends.

The thing is… the August conference is technically on a free weekend. My husband and I don’t have anything planned, and I just… don’t want to go. It’s one of the only weekends we have with absolutely nothing on the calendar, and I honestly just want to stay home, relax, and enjoy it together.

So why do I feel so guilty? I keep worrying that I’ll look like I’m not a team player or that if I say no now, I won’t be asked to help in the future when I actually am free and want to.

Would you say yes out of obligation, or is it okay to protect your personal time after already giving up so many weekends over the last few years?

Maybe the best cookies I’ve ever had/made?

The only change I made is I used frozen mixed berries (blueberry, rasp, strawberry and blackberry)

Bought this assortment of beads from Michael’s but they’re all wonky?

Hopefully you call tell from the photo.
I bought these “bead landing” brand assorted beads from Michael’s and while I was doing some embroidery I noticed some of the sizes are all wonky and made my project look weird :(

They were 70% off with a coupon so I only paid 11.99 so it’s not even worth the gas to take a trip to return them lol

Hoping at the end of the day my project comes together but just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and if it’s normal with seed beads.

I’m newish to beading by the way :)

Customer Experience Managers: How often are your teams expected to call customers?

I'm trying to benchmark what is considered a realistic call expectation for a Customer Experience team.

I work for a company that sells veterinary products. We have a customer database of 20,000+ veterinary clinics and our CX team consists of just two people. In addition to calls, we're also responsible for emails, customer support, account maintenance, surveys, and various other customer-facing tasks.

I'm curious:

  • How many customer calls are your CX team members expected to make per day/week?
  • Are these proactive relationship-building calls, issue-resolution calls, or re-engagement calls?
  • How do you prioritize which customers to contact when you have a large customer base?

One area where I struggle is with inactive customers. If a clinic hasn't ordered in 2+ years, should re-engaging that account fall under Customer Experience, or is that typically owned by Sales and/or Marketing?

My thinking is:

  • CX should focus primarily on active customers, retention, satisfaction, and account health.
  • Marketing should handle broad win-back campaigns.
  • Sales should own direct outreach to long-lost accounts and uncover new opportunities.

But maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way.

How is this handled in your organization?

Am I wrong for expecting commission on leads I was already working before a promotion?

I’m looking for some outside perspective because I’m not sure if this is normal in sales or if I’m being unreasonable.

I recently received a promotion at work that came with a raise. Part of the new role means I’m no longer on the sales team and therefore no longer eligible for commission. I was completely fine with that.

Before signing my new contract, I specifically asked my boss (owner of the company) what would happen with the leads I was actively working. I had several opportunities in progress that I had spent time building relationships with and moving through the sales process. To note, we are a small mom and pop shop and we have no other sales person to pass the deal onto.

I asked him directly if I would still receive commission if I closed those deals after moving into the new role, and he told me yes.

A little while later, I submitted my commission report. Our office manager and accountant told me the deals were not eligible because I had already signed my new contract and was no longer in a commission-based position.

I explained that I had specifically discussed this situation with the owner beforehand and had been told those deals would still qualify. They disagreed and interpreted the conversation differently.

We ended up discussing it in a meeting with all four of us present. When I asked for clarification and looked to my boss for an answer, he basically said he didn’t want to get involved and that he was sure the three of us would work it out.

The problem is that, historically, when the office manager and accountant make a decision, there really isn’t much room for discussion. Once they’ve made up their minds, that’s generally the end of it.

I’d appreciate any thoughts, especially from sales managers or people who have gone through a similar transition.

Looking for a recommendation to get a nice Scotch for my husbands 40th birthday this weekend.

Just as an FYI, we are located in Canada (Ontario) and ideally I'd like to get him something that is around the $200 mark give or take if it’s something really worthwhile. Highly recommended Scotches that are unfortunately ***NOT*** available anywhere near me:

* Ardbeg: Corry, Ooogie, Smokiverse
* Highland Park 18
* The Macallan 15
* Glenfarclas 15
* The Belvenie15
Lagavulin 12 (I can find the 8 in my city)

He loves really smokey (peaty) scotches so i was told to look for Islay (single malt) ones.

I know a lot of the ones I listed are closer to the $300 mark and thats okaaaaay but Ideally would like to keep it under $200.

PLEASE HELP.

Thank you!!
