5mg Lexapro nausea?

I want to know if the nausea is dose connected, and here’s why…

I have been on 10mg for decades with no issues. Recently, my psychiatrist became alarmed because my electrolytes are slightly out of whack, and I’m 77 years old which could also contribute. I have been tapering, got to 5mg and right now the nausea is bad. I’ve lost 10 pounds in less an a month, because I cannot each much. I never had it on 10mg, even when I started.

Is it possible that this is related to the 5mg dose, or just the taper? My psychiatrist says it isn’t the med change. I’m waiting for a PCP visit.

March interview with David Sanger derailed by “Sir, do you want to show them them the renovations?”

Today at Empty Wheel , the discussion surrounds how Trump fears being compared to Jimmy Carter, and how easily he can be derailed .

“When Sanger asked Trump if he had “studied” prior occupations, he instead wanted to talk again about Jimmy Carter — and Karoline Leavitt immediately tried to distract from with the Bunker-Ballroom.
David E. Sanger
Did you study some other occupations? Japan, Iraq, others?
President Trump
Yes, yes. I studied, I studied —
David E. Sanger
And what — what lesson did you draw from that, that we should know —
President Trump
That it’s highly risky.
David E. Sanger
— for Venezuela?
President Trump
That’s what I do.
David E. Sanger
OK, so —
President Trump
I looked at — I looked at some of the attacks. I studied the Carter attack. It was a disaster. I would have never done it that way.
David E. Sanger
You were talking about the attack. I was asking about the occupations that followed —
President Trump
You know, they had — they had a — they had a sandstorm. Did you know that? And they decided to go forward. We would go back, and let’s hit it three days later. They wanted to go forward, and they said, keep going. Helicopters don’t work well in the sand.
Karoline Leavitt
Sir, do you want to show them the renovations?

[TOMT] can you help me find this blues song I heard on PBS?

One night I was watching PBS late evening, and a show called “Houston tonight” or Houston Late Night or some such name. The male singer started a song about all the things that would happen before he took his girlfriend back.

I’d love to find this song again, but have tried over the years, with no luck. I cannot remember what phrases were used, but there was a repetition of “before I take you back”. Typical basic blues like Saint Louis Blues or

Governor Reynolds and Iowa HHS Announce Investment to Expand Rural Physician Training and Strengthen Iowa's Health Care Workforce

PRESS RELEASE from Iowa HHS

Governor Reynolds and Iowa HHS Announce Investment to Expand Rural Physician Training and Strengthen Iowa's Health Care Workforce
Des Moines, Iowa — Following the recent approval of Iowa’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) expansion, Governor Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (Iowa HHS) today announced a new initiative to increase physician training opportunities in rural Iowa. The competitive funding opportunity will support the creation of new medical residency programs across the state.
Iowa HHS will make up to $10.5 million available to establish up to 14 new residency programs in Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, and Psychiatry. Funding is open to hospitals, health systems, medical schools, and other qualified organizations to develop Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited programs in rural and underserved communities.
Research consistently shows that physicians often practice where they complete their residency training. By expanding training opportunities in rural areas, Iowa is making a strategic investment to improve access to care, strengthen its health care workforce, and ensure Iowans can receive high-quality services close to home.

"One of the most effective ways to increase the number of physicians practicing in rural Iowa is to train them in rural Iowa," said Governor Reynolds. "This investment will help build a stronger health care workforce pipeline, improve access to care for families across our state, and ensure rural communities remain vibrant places to live, work, and raise a family."
“Following the approval of Iowa’s Graduate Medical Education expansion, we’re continuing to strengthen the physician workforce by investing in residency opportunities where they can have the greatest impact,” said Principal Deputy Director Larry Johnson. “This funding will help expand physician training capacity, support our hospital partners, and strengthen Iowa’s health care workforce for the future.”
Eligible applicants may apply to develop residency programs in Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, and Psychiatry. Programs must be located outside Iowa’s largest population centers and provide at least 50 percent of resident training in federally designated rural communities.
“Where physicians complete their residency is one of the strongest predictors of where they ultimately choose to practice,” said State Medical Director Dr. Robert Kruse. “By creating more training opportunities in rural areas, we are making a long-term investment in Iowa’s health care workforce and improving access to both primary and specialty care across the state.”

From the email newsletter of Rep. S. Bagniewski today : 89 House District have candidates for 2026

Tonight’s Big Deadline (For Real, Though)
If you want to know what it’s like to be a “bluer” district Democrat in a competitive state, Saturday showed the juggle that I’ve been trying to manage. I woke up bright and early to drive to Ankeny to march in the Ankeny SummerFest for two seats that we’re hoping to flip for my friends Molly Buck and Heather Matson along with Heather’s old seat that we’re trying to hold for Amy Tagliareni. After a few hours with the family (and a shower), it was family time here in my home district to take in an incredible Beaverdale Bluegrass Festival and visit with so many of you.

While I wish that parades and community events were all that it required to restore some commonsense at our statehouse, the reality is that it takes a lot of campaign resources as well. As I’m sure you’ve heard from another dozen emails today, there’s a major fundraising deadline tonight for all of the candidates across Iowa. When I’m asking for your donation, I want you to know why this is different.

Over the last 18 months, I've been doing in-person recruitment for candidates across Iowa nearly full time. I emphasize "in-person" because, as you know, quality candidates can only be identified in the flesh - not over a call or Zoom or just at the recommendation of local activists.

As of today, we've got 89 House candidates and the expectation for all of them is that they personally knock 10,000 doors of infrequent Democratic voters, Independents, and even centrist Republicans. Many of them are thousands of doors into that goal and telling me that they're seeing rumblings of a huge, blue wave this fall. In a huge boost, the New York Times even highlighted a few of our candidates this morning.
Bolstering all of this, of course, is an incredibly favorable climate for Democrats in Iowa. We have an exceptionally strong statewide ticket, one of the most important Senate races in the country, and candidates who will flip at least two (I'd actually bet three) Congressional seats - just like we did in 2018.  Those races are having huge down-ballot impacts. With competitive primaries for both parties last month, I was heartened to see Democratic candidates earn more votes than Republicans in 12 of these currently red statehouse districts.

When I go to my notifications, and then to read those comments, I am stuck in the thread, and the back arrow is replaced by the three horizontal lines. I have to navigate to the sub home, and there is the back arrow I can use to find home.

Has anyone read Burn, by Peter Heller?

I love authors who can create good characters and weave a story without drama, but still provide suspense and mystery. Steven King is one, Chris Culver is another. This author can write a good story, and then turn around and write another good one. I wish there were à series following some of the characters, but so far, only complete story after complete story.

Burn is a story that starts out in the wilderness in Maine, with two great characters, and then goes off in a direction I could NOT have predicted.

Can someone recommend other authors with this ability?

On today's episode of: Another MAGAT- Pedo Sex Crime Report. (05/24/2026)

u/EugeneWong318 — 3 months ago

Several people have posted questions about where the magic happens, so I thought I’d post where my sourdough is made. Here is my casserole dish for mixing with the silicone spoons, the scale, where my starter lives and what I use to make the levain. Also in the cupboard are the spray bottle to use before sprinkling on the sesame seeds (behind the jar of starter), and the serrated knife I use for scoring.

This is NOT the oven I use for baking. I use a wall oven at 500F. I bake in a poultry roaster covered. I use the silicone gloves for hot dishes.

Recipe is

Sourdough Bread Made Easy

Ingredients:

300g flour (I use Wheat Montana AP)
180g water (after a few weeks, I started upping the hydration, then backing down. My sweet spot is now 215g)
4-5G salt
60g starter

Process:

Mix 300g flour with 4-6 grams salt.

Mix 60g starter with 180g water.

Mix the two together, to make a shaggy ball.

Cover, and let sit until it is nearly doubled. This can take anywhere from 4-12 hours, but with a kitchen at 74F, it takes me about 6 hours.

Scrape ball of dough onto counter, and divide. Shape each ball to tighten the surface, and scoop into bannetons lined with a food service hairnet. Cover with a shower cap, and retard (place in fridge to slow growth and develop flavor.)

After about 12 hours, turn your oven to 500F. When it reaches that temp, take covered bannetons out of the fridge and turn over onto a silicone liner, spray heavily with water, and make an X shape with a serrated steak knife. Top with seeds if you want. Place sling in roaster and cover. Place in oven and bake covered for 26 minutes.

Remove from oven, remove from roaster, and let cool for at least 8 hours. You can cut sooner, but the bread will loose some moisture and get a little hard to cut if cut before the bread is completely cool. In other words, you can eat it all, but it won’t save well.

The round loaves of bread can be easily cut by first cutting in half, then placing cut side down, and sliced.
