In advance, sorry for the huge story. I felt all the details were necessary

Can someone identify what this might be? Mold has now appeared in two bedrooms next to the HVAC closet. Please read the description.

I want to preface this by saying I am long distance from my husband, and he currently cannot work or earn an income, so I am the sole income right now. He lives with his mother, who owns the house he lives in, so he isn’t in a position to simply move out or ask a landlord for help. His mother is very sick right now, and financially things are extremely tight.

He is unable to hire a professional or move out. I will be paying for whatever I reasonably can to help him make his room livable, so I am hoping people here can give us some practical advice on what we can do ourselves. He lives in North Carolina if that makes any difference.

For context, the rooms I’m talking about are upstairs. There is a hallway with a railing along the outer edge, with bedrooms on the other side. His current bedroom is at the end of the hallway. Until recently, he was sleeping in the bedroom directly adjacent to his current bedroom.

This may be an important detail that the two bedrooms share a wall with the HVAC closet, the entrance to that closet being in his new bedroom.  The HVAC system has apparently had some mildew issues in the past, although I don’t know what exactly the history with it is. I just know that it had a weird smell from what he told me. 

A few months ago, when I was visiting him, I discovered mold creeping up the wall in his old bedroom. The wall where we found it was directly adjacent to the HVAC closet in the other bedroom. 

Due to the mold, I told him I thought we should move him into what is now his current bedroom. However, today he sent me the picture that I posted above, and I realized it looks identical to the one in the other bedroom. 

So now we have found what appears to be the same mold in both bedrooms, and both affected walls are directly adjacent to the HVAC closet. 

I am especially concerned because he has been experiencing a lot of dizziness and sluggishness for years now. He’s been to doctors and been tested but nothing comes back with answers for it. When I was visiting, we stayed at a hotel for a few days and I noticed that he seemed (and confirmed) to feel way better outside of the house. I don’t know for certain whether the house or the mold is responsible for these symptoms, but the improvement away from the house makes me concerned there may be correlation.

I'm honestly frustrated and scared because I can't be there with him, and we don't have the money for professional remediation right now. Any advice would be incredibly appreciated. 

Main questions: 

• What type of mold might this be and is it dangerous?

• Is there a way to tell if the HVAC unit is responsible for this mold growth?

•  What can I reasonably do to help this situation without involving professionals or spending thousands of dollars?

• Would a face mask help protect him from the mold?

• What should I buy? A dehumidifier or an air purifier? What should we clean this with?

• What should we do immediately?

TLDR: Found mold in old bedroom > found same mold in new bedroom > both walls are adjacent to the HVAC closet > Would like identification of the mold and to know if it is dangerous. Cannot hire professionals or move houses so looking for practical solutions please.

I have not made any contact with them, london police told them not to contact me and for me to not to interact with them. My mother is making demands that I return my cat (whom I pay for) and is my everything, the only reason I'm here still (they dont care about her, just want to hurt me. Actually abuse the cat). She is making demands I return a phone she gifted to me on my birthday. She has contacted and put in a report against me for theft of the "family cat" and my phone.

She keeps calling me names, insults, and threatening me with the law. But that is not my problem - they contacted my husband who does not live in Ontario. They know he is schizophrenic and that he is scared of them, but did it anyway. He did not answer, but told me immediately. I am *beyond* livid as they had no place to do that. I am not on a data plan, so cannot make normal calls outside 911. Do I call 911 about this? Im so angry. I dont even care of the threats. I care they are making my husband feel scared.

I'm 19, and Im moving out of my parent's house in a week before the 1st. I pay them 450 dollars rent, and I am somebody who is on the spectrum (with severe noise sensitivity) and psychotic disorders as well. I just returned from a 2 month trip visiting my husband who lives in the USA (im Canadian) and I was sad, so I wasnt talking much when I returned.

My grandmother is very loud and overbearing, she will come in and out constantly, then get mad when Im overstimulated and need space. I ended up locking my door to distance myself as I can have violent tendencies(mainly towards myself, but my psychiatrist says that it could turn worse) when I am being constantly bothered and grilled.

My mother and I have never been close, our relationship feels transactional. This morning I made French toast and said she could have some. I did my dishes and put them on the rack to dry. She bangs on my door, and I open it. She tells me that I am not allowed to lock my door, and I tell her I need space so it is locked. I try to reason with her about it, because it was agreed once I started paying, that I could lock it. I reminded her of my diagnoses, but she said plenty of autistic people live and work perfectly fine. I warned her I will snap with enough invasion of my space, and she said that I can control that and if they want to come in they are free to, because it is their house.

I am constantly having meltdowns because of the dogs and the baby here, but I am told that is life, and that if I dont like it to leave: they say this a lot when it comes to the side effects of my disorders. Always tell me to leave if I have a problem, thinking I never will. That changes.

Im going to pack up my computer, my cat and clothes and Uber to my new apartment when they arent around. Im ditching my bed, desk, and dresser. I'm scared, honestly. My parents yell at me a lot, and I dont know what to do.

This is best for me, I'll be able to get in a good headspace and learn to drive, do school and work. But I am so fucking scared. I need support. Please, I cant focus on anything, I dont know what to do. Ill answer any questions

Was playing borderlands 1 for the first time and came across them. You would think we have the same goal, no?

Fast food or restaurants! Im from canada and Im a vegetarian so finding places to eat is difficult in north carolina. My fiance eats pork and chicken, but not red meat because it makes him sick. He'll eat vegetarian with me a lot too. I also really like milkshakes! Would love to know what you guys recommend! Questions are welcome :D
