Battery question

I hope this post abides by the rules as its a battery issue, but it relates to a dash cam

Vehicle: Ford Fusion 2016

June 20th - July 3rd (13 days) - A new dash cam was installed and kept plugged in 24/7 to the auxiliary power socket. From what i know, the car supplies power to this socket for 1h15m after the car is off. I had no issues with the battery during this period of time and drove it regularly to work, etc.

July 4th ~4PM - I unplug the dash cam because i didn't have an SD card in at the time and drive for ~10 minutes to get food.

July 5th ~2PM - The next time i try to start the car (dash cam still unplugged) the car won't start. I plug in my scanning tool, which tells me that the battery is at 9 Volts. I jump the car and it reads 14 V. I drive it around and run some errands just fine for a few hours.

I'm not sure what to make of this. Seems to me the battery issues are related to the dash cam, as I've never had problems before i started using one. But also, why would this happen the day after i unplugged it? coincidence?

I've had the car for 2.5 years, not sure how old the battery is though.

Just looking for any ideas as to what might have happened or other things i should check out. My concern is that now my battery is just going to be dead again in the morning as i have no idea what drew it down over the past 1 day

TIA

dash cam questions

hello everyone. i just bought my first dash cam and am realizing that it might not work as simple as i thought, and have a few questions

vehicle: 2016 ford fusion

  1. It seems that with the car off, whatever is plugged into the auxiliary power socket or USB in the center console remains on - Do i really have to unplug the dash cam from here every day? Has anyone here messed around with the fuses to cut the power when engine is off? any advice?
  2. I had a USB cable plugged into the USB port in the center console for at least a year that i never used and forgot about, has this been drawing power this entire time?

Questions about reinvesting into bonds

Hi, i've been reading The Bond Book by Annette Thau and have some questions about reinvesting. The mechanism of reinvesting isn't explained, only the concept of buying more bonds with the money earned from interest. In her examples, the interest payments are small, like $12.

  • In reality, can bonds even be purchased with small amounts like this?
  • is reinvestment only possible with treasury direct?
  • Are there any other important things to know about reinvesting?

thank you

does this sound like a bad wheel bearing?

year make model, engine: 2016 Ford Fusion, 2.5L, 75k miles

At 45 mph, i get a loud humming/grindy sound. Someone here advised that it might be a bad wheel bearing.

I suspect that its from the rear. I spun both sides to see if i could spot anything. Driver side makes clunking noises that the passenger side does not. Both make a sort of light scraping sound, which i think is normal? I can only post 1 clip, so i'll post the one that has the clunking noises.

Is this a clue? Does this sound wheel bearing related?

I didn't feel much play when giving them a good tug

basic questions about treasury notes

hi. I'm interested in purchasing treasury notes from the secondary market through vanguard, but want to check my understanding. I picked a random example to ask some questions about

  1. How do i understand the Min. Qty column? The ask size is 500. Is this 500 notes x $100 = $50,000, meaning this seller is only willing to sell in increments of $50,000?

  2. If this gets purchased today and matures in 9 months, does the new holder of this note receive 2 coupon payments or 1 in that duration of time? My guess is that you would get 1 payment in August and 1 in February along with face value of the notes?

  3. If this note is purchased, is yield to maturity the total yield one gets with their investment, all things considered if the note is purchased today? How is this number calculated? If i spend $97.96 and obtain $100 in face value, that leaves me with $2.04. If i'm paid 1.125% of $100 during the remaining life of the note, that is an additional $1.125. $1.125 + $2.04 = $3.165. If my initial investment is $97.96, isn't this a 3.23% yield? I've probably made some faulty assumptions or calculations, but any insight is appreciated here.

thank you for any help

"Ford Fusion And Mercury Milan, 2006 Through 2020 Haynes Repair Manual"

Would this really be helpful for a 2016 ford fusion? 14 years and two different models, is all the information in here really going to be accurate to my 2016 specifically?
