Looking for work buddies

Hey everyone! 28F here working in tech. Lately, working from the office has become so boring. My team is one of the worst at making plans or doing get-togethers. They come, work, leave. Trying my luck here to find similar ppl looking to bond or hangout during office breaks, we can even plan for after office hangouts if vibes match. Much better if your office is in Marol (as I travel to Marol for work). Please DM or comment here if you're interested :)

Edit: Looking for PPL working in/around Marol to hangout during office breaks or post work hangouts

Burnout, depression or laziness?

28F here working as a software engineer for over six years now. This is my second job and I feel like I'm hanging by a thread. Dread work everyday, when I was new it was better but I've been feeling shit lately. I used to be so interested in learning things and stuff but that is fading away, no new projects at my current company, you constantly have to come with new features or work on tickets created for new business requirements. Promotions are based on visibility, even if you have done a shiny POC which isn't even used internally or by business or not even in production. Drop a WFH request every time you want it, complete eight hours in the office. Attendance is one of the KRAs. With this AI boom, I'm even wondering if i should really learn anything anymore? This shitty job market and my 90 days notice is making it hell to switch. To be very frank, it's just for the bills that I'm still holding on. But on the inside, I feel depressed with no clarity of my future ahead. Is there anyone else who feels the same? Any help or suggestions to improve?

Work hard or do as per your role after not getting promoted?

What will you do or what's the best thing to do if you're expected to work beyond what's there in your job role? In my org, I see a lot of ppl get promoted just because they demoed a shiny poc or participated in innovation challenges or similar tech events. Is this the norm now? Your deliverables don't matter?

Topper help needed - uncomfortable after wearing

I bought a new topper about two weeks ago. It's a clipless one with a halo wire. Just one day of wearing it gave me a bad headache and the wire just felt pressed onto my scalp pretty bad). I stopped wearing it but I still have two questions:

  1. How to ensure the things on the sides (see the highlighted section in pic) don't cause discomfort?

  2. How secure should the wire be so it isn't too pressed neither does it move? I felt really really uncomfortable the entire day

Pain from wearing topper first time

Hi everyone! Since the rainy season is about to start in the place where I live, I decided to switch to hair topper from hair fibres. I was too conscious about it as usual. Just upon reaching, my work friend noticed I was wearing something. I tried brushing it off but it was pretty obvious. On top of this, I got this immense pain from wearing the topper (will paste this link if anyone's curious). It's a halo wire topper. But the wire that sit above my head was pressing onto my sensitive scalp so much that it gave me headache. I still feel this pain after coming home. Idk what to do, thinking of going back to fibres, like keeping a bottle in my bag if rain washes it away or something but I'm not gonna wear this topper again :'(

I'm doing something wrong or maybe the topper isn't comfortable. Do feel free to comment, it'll be helpful to know if there are ppl like me.

Is the market really this bad or am I the unlucky one?

I'm a software engineer with 6 years experience in the industry. I really want to switch this year, but the state of the job market is questionable. I don't understand if the hiring is really impacted by AI as I see a lot of open positions on LinkedIn and sometimes I get calls from Naukri. Just recently, I spoke to a recruiter about a position, she took my details and never called back. Now ppl will say budget issues but 17 LPA isn't too much ig? I've started learning AI, specifically GenAI since most of the Python jobs are into AI/ML. Honestly, I don't wanna spend another year here but looking at the market and the layoffs news everyday, I feel a bit scared.

Thoughts on Google io keynote 2026 - are we really cooked?

I just watched the Linus tech tips video summarising the Google io keynote 2026. Basically, Google is making it way easier to use AI in almost everything we do daily, like shopping, searching, etc. As for devs/swe, a live demo of Google Antigravity coding an OS from scratch and even fixing bugs live, looked so promising that I can't stop thinking about the future (as a swe myself). Has anyone watched the event? What are your thoughts on the same?

A few months back i made a post here talking about how my manager robbed me of my promotion. After weeks of being frustrated, I had finally calmed myself and shifted my focus. Today, yet again, my TL called me to "discuss my career". She told me that my manager highlighted the importance of participation in hackathons, innovation challenges, and tech activities. And that's the reason for me not being promoted (which is an excuse). I asked her the reason for other members'promotions when they didn't participate in anything (I know this because it's informed in our group chat). At the end, she tells me to send at least two entries this year for a particular tech event. Nobody, nobody in my team ever participates in such activities, yet they get promoted. After the call, I was fuming so much that i wanted to send the resignation email right away. They have been making me work as a senior, i have to clean up my two junior devs mess, plan their tasks, help them, also deliver new projects while helping them in active sprint, i make new tickets too, currently doing the refactoring of the entire project. Yet my manager (and the management) care more about POCs and tools which are not even used anywhere! I hate him and this company even more now, they don't have projects and spend on useless things like yearly company events, innovation challenge that is you building a fancy POC that won't ever be used!

Sorry for the long post🥲

I've been visiting this sub daily! While I've seen a lot of positive results, the path doesn't look good for me. Back in 2017, I went through a major weight loss (40+ kgs) over a period of one year. I followed a heavily restricted diet and over exercising to the point I'd just collapse some days. By god's grace, I could come out of that loop and try eating more. Honestly, i was still restricting and counting calories but it was better (I'd eat "healthy" outside food). It's only after covid that i started letting myself loose and have gained 7 kgs since covid. Now, I'm at a point where I have lost density, more so during the last year. I have started taking supplements from Dec for low vitamin D and B, some hair supplements. However my dermat didn't prescribe me ferritin supplements so i researched and started taking them two days back. It's so bad now that I've stopped combing my hair and even showers are nightmares due to the amount of hair i lose.

My question is - if anyone here with a disordered eating pattern has been able to get their hair back or even some growth like 60-70%? How much time until i see a reduction in shedding at least? Sometimes i just feel like crying 😭

I lost weight but lost my hair too with that😭😭😭😭😭
