Traveler’s Notebook From a Milk Carton [Details in the comments.]
I made a Traveler’s Notebook from a milk carton, and sticker bombed the front cover. Details in the comments.
Garbage Cans & Stationery Accessories
I spotted these Canadian designed garbage cans at my local niko and… store. I love all these transparent colours! I already had (albeit smaller) garbage cans at home, so I couldn’t justify the purchase.
I looked at the manufacturer website, and I saw that they only offer these garbage cans in black and white. So, I have to wonder if the colourful cans are Japan exclusives?
But I did buy some Clampy clips by Penco. I styled them with pencils and pencil caps that I already own.
The last picture is to show the retro clocks that the store has. I think they could work in a frutiger aero space.
Celebrating Ice Cream in Japan & Canada
This layout was inspired by a recent post by u/CatLadyLivingLife on r/BuyCanadian. I didn’t realise until I saw her post that this is a Canadian classic.
I don’t have access to Canadian ice creams, so I support local ones in Japan. The featured flavour packaging on this spread is a new one called Colourful Chocolate (Milk).
The lion character is inspired by 1980s reward stickers for kids.
The Calorie Mate cutout is unrelated. It was a small meal check in for the day.

It looks like we can’t post photos in the comment sections here, so I followed this up with another OP to show the printables in action. Full writeup in the comments.

Mr. Bones Pizza
I was talking about this local chain with my Japanese co-teacher this morning, still recalling the 777-7777 phone number after more than 25 years.
But I searched it up on Google Maps, and they’re permanently closed? What happened?
Hi, update to sun damaged sweater.
Hi, it’s me again posting an update to my sun bleach damaged sweater. I decided to try a chemical bleach method via bleach and water in a spray bottle. I tried to replicate the vibe, but I couldn’t reach the same tone and colour as the sun bleach.
However, I think it works. I bedazzled it a little bit using a star button and beads.
I want to keep adding elements to lean into the 80s vibe, but it might be better to leave it alone. I might add some buttons on the shoulder to pick up on the colours of the logo, and call it a day.
Edit: check further down in the comments for another update with more buttons! 🧵♥️🩵🤍
Journal With Me (2026.05.07.)
It took about day to upload this video. Not sure why I’m experiencing 90s style upload times, but here we are! Feel free to let me know if there are any issues eith the upload. Thanks. 🙏
Dallas whale mural painted over for FIFA World Cup artwork, artist threatens legal action
How devastating. 😭
Has this happened in FIFA history before? Destroying public murals for an ad space that will only be up for at most a few days or weeks.
As an artist, this was horrible to see. I hope that there’s accountability for whoever allowed this to happen.
I don’t know how much this relates to us as Canadians, but I still think it’s worth drawing attention to. Host cities shouldn’t be strong armed into destroying public art.
Sunbleached Damage
I feel dumb, and I can’t believe I’m posting here. But here goes!
I sometimes have some problems with object permanence. My apartment doesn’t come with a dryer, and I have to hang my garments to dry outside. Sometimes gusts of wind knock clothes down.
And apparently I didn’t notice this until today, when another gust of wind blew a different shirt onto a nearby rooftop.
And I looked around, and I saw my sweater in a nearby bush. I had been wondering where it disappeared to!
So, I brought it inside. I have no clue how long my sweater was out there, but we do know that it was outside long enough to get sun damaged.
I originally bought this sweater new in 2023 from a Japanese clothes and lifestyle store called Niko and…
At the time, this sweater was released in a line that was heavily influenced by 1980s aesthetics.
In terms of a visible mend, I’m thinking I could lean into the sun bleach and bleach it more. I could also attempt to redye it back.
I have some colour dye I’ve been saving, and I could attempt a tye-dye after rebleaching it.
What do you think? How would you go about addressing this sun damage?
A Canadian Find & One Other
The first shirt doesn’t get any more Canadian than that!
The second is a cut-sew blank I intend to customize.
Canadian Catch & Release in Japan
I spotted this Lions Club t-shirt from my hometown. I let it go because it didn’t feel right buying ut as a non-member.
A runner up is Northern Reflections! I suspected there might be dry rot on it (not pictured), and it also wasn’t priced. So, I let it go.
They had a lot of great stuff from the 80s and 90s on this trip.
I’ll share my pickups in a separate post.
Discarding Broken Luggage
What’s the best way to discard broken luggage without getting complaints about the gomi centre?
I’m potentially open to suggestions to fix broken wheels.
Thanks. 🙏
