Update: I finally snapped at my coworkers, and now I’m seriously considering quitting

Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/womenintech/comments/1ss7vlt/good_review_decent_raise_but_being_penalized_for/

Four months ago, I posted about my annual review and the ongoing issues with my team. At the time, I felt like I was being penalized for conflict that I didn’t create and was constantly being expected to do the emotional/communication work to keep the team functioning.

Unfortunately, things have gotten worse.

Yesterday, I completely lost my patience in a meeting. For a long time, I’ve felt like my coworkers have been passing their work onto me, doing half-assed work that I then have to redo, or leaving things for me to clean up later. I’ve tried being patient and accommodating for a long time, but yesterday I finally snapped.

I told them they were being lazy and went on a rant about how tired I am of constantly picking up after everyone else.

Unsurprisingly, they went straight to my manager.

My manager talked to me about it and asked what I want to do. I told him honestly that I can be on literally any team except this one. They said they’ll figure out where to place me, but now I’m questioning whether I even want to stay at the company.

Part of me feels like I should just quit.

I don’t see how this doesn’t follow me around the company now. There was already an issue in my previous review where my manager talked about how my ideas can be harder to land because of my association with conflict. Now I’ve actually lost my temper in front of my coworkers, so I’m worried I’ve completely confirmed that perception.

What makes me especially frustrated is the double standard.

Some of these same coworkers are constantly snarky, sarcastic, dismissive, smartass, and just generally have terrible attitudes. At least two of them behave this way regularly. They’ve also made comments about another team that were just as bad, if not worse, and apparently nobody reported them to the manager. Or if someone did, nothing changed.

Meanwhile, I finally blow up after months of doing everyone favors, covering for them, fixing their work, cleaning up their mistakes, and bending over backward to keep things moving, and suddenly I’m the problem.

I know calling them lazy wasn't professional. I’m not trying to pretend it was. I absolutely should have handled that better. I regret losing my temper.

But I’m also struggling with the fact that this didn't come out of nowhere.

There was another situation before this where someone was fired for being mean and demeaning toward me. Now my manager is bringing that up and essentially asking why I would treat my coworkers that way when I know how it feels to be treated badly.

The problem is that I didn't treat my coworkers that way. I was nice to them. I helped them. I covered for them. I picked up their slack. I redid things that weren't done properly. I tried to compromise. I tried to be the person who kept everyone happy.

And I feel like I let that go on for so long that eventually I just broke.

Now I'm wondering if I made a huge mistake by staying as long as I did.

My manager says they can move me to another team, but I'm honestly scared that I'll just be carrying this reputation with me. At the same time, quitting feels extreme when I otherwise like the company and have built a career here.

So I’m looking for some outside perspective.

If you were in my position, would you take the transfer or quit?

And for anyone who has had a similar situation where you finally snapped after being taken advantage of for a long time: can you actually recover your reputation within the same company, or is it better to leave and start fresh somewhere else?

I’m also interested in hearing from people who have been on the management side. How bad is this realistically? Did I just permanently damage my reputation, or is one really bad meeting something that can be recovered from?

I know I screwed up yesterday. I’m just trying to figure out whether I screwed up badly enough that I should leave. I'm so embarrassed and ashamed. I hate everyone and the people on my team who I've helped soooo much.

I’m also sitting on a job offer that pays significantly more. It’s a completely new role for me, and I was upfront that I don’t even know some of the basics, but they knew that and still offered me the job. It’s at a much larger, more fast-paced company, although the role is something I’ve worked adjacent to before.

The timing is complicated because I just bought a house and I’m also in the process of leaving an abusive household, so financial stability is really important right now. Part of me wants the fresh start and higher pay, but I’m scared of jumping into something I don’t know.

Would you take the new job, transfer internally, or stay and try to repair things?

How big is your desk? How many monitors do you use?

Just curious.

My desk is 30 in x 50 in and it is actually a fold out table. I have 4 monitors on it.

I'm moving and I am trying to figure out if I want a smaller or same size desk.

SW Superpaint or Cashmere?

I plan to paint the living room, bedrooms, and hallway snowbound by sw and I see that Superpaint and Cashmere are the same price per gallon.

I see that in this subreddit people recommend cashmere because it is easier to paint with, especially for diy-ers. However, I also see that superpaint isn't that bad either.

I guess my question is, if they are the same price per gallon, which one should I get? If I can't afford duration or the emerald line.

Also, can I add floetrol? I asked an employee at sherwin william and they said I don't need to sand or prime because superpaint/cashmere already has primer. Is that true?

Also, I do have a paint sprayer. Should I roll first, spray 2nd/final layer or just roll the walls?

Does it make a difference if I purchase online or in store? There is a 30% off promotion going on.

Where to put the desk and beds in these 2 rooms?

https://preview.redd.it/v1b4qkiyxw9h1.png?width=711&format=png&auto=webp&s=c6378604e2638908fe7c49af2b7c2b1029faf028

I need help figuring out where to put the desk and beds in these 2 rooms. Especially the one with the walk in closet.

Each room will have 1 twin daybed and a desk that is the same size.

I did think about putting the backs of the desk and the beds against each other but it is just awkward. Since we don't want the bed to be directly in front of the door.

Please recommend a bright white that has good coverage.

I was thinking of High Reflective White because I like super white and bright walls that reflect the sort of small amount of light from outside.

However, I heard that it doesn't cover well.

The walls I am painting is dark green and red. I am hiring someone to help me paint but I would like to choose a white that has good coverage.

What other whites are recommended?
I don't like snowbound because it isn't as white. Would Ultra White, Extra White, or something else have better coverage?

How and where to get water tested at new house?

I am closing on a house soon. I do have kids that will hang out with me at home.

The house has a community well water that is managed by a company. I looked at the reports and it says nitrate might be present but other reports from the company are reporting lower.

I might just be looking at it wrong.

However, I would like to get the water tested so I know what filters I need to install and if it should just be under sink or whole house.

Do I hire a professional for that? Or is this something I can buy a kit and diy? Would the well water company do it for me?

Where do I start with this kitchen reno?

I want to renovate my kitchen but I don't know where to start so any pointers would be super helpful to me.

I want to move my stove over to the yellow shaded area so I can add a vent to the outside.

Then open up a pass through in the wall where the original stove is to open up the kitchen space to the living room.

The pass through would just be a breakfast bar where we can sit on either side to eat or do whatever.

There might be load bearing beams so we plan for the breakfast bar to extend from one load bearing beam to the other.

Just not sure where the beams are.

Do I call the HVAC guy first to add the vent first? Or electrical guy to reorganize the plugs and stuff? Before I start moving the stove over and cabinets?

Next to the sink is a dishwasher then the fridge.

The little square with a door in the corner is a pantry. Not sure if we want to keep it there.

Main thing I want is the pass through breakfast bar and moving the stove over so it can be vented outside.

I also need to move the cabinet all the way to the ceiling. There is a gap between the ceiling and the cabinet and I don't like it.

I plan to shop cabinets and stuff from IKEA since the existing cabinets all particleboard/mdf cabinet boxes covered with melamine laminate from the previous owner.

Should I DIY and install the cabinets and stuff myself or is it worth it to hire someone to install those cabinets for me?

Is there other reasons to refinish floors other than making it look pretty?

Moving soon. The floor of the new house is oxidized, the color varies, there are scratches, and are pretty dirty.

I planned to just clean it and that's it because its a floor....I don't look at it a whole lot and a good amount of it will be covered by furniture anyway.

However, my realtor and inspector both recommended I refinish it.

Is there any other reasons to refinish floors other than to make it look pretty?

Is there any other options that will still make it look nice without doing the whole sanding, epoxy thingy fiasco?

The floor is about 25 years old just like the house.

Buying house with Community Well Water and Septic.

I plan to buy a house with a community well water and septic. The community well water is actually managed by a company/business but their water source is wells. The only thing is I looked at the website and it says Nitrate was found at 13 times above EWG's Health Guideline.

Should I be concerned?

I am use to city water and sewer and I will be living alone. I'm afraid it would be too much work to maintain.

Do I just need a water filter in my sink? I heard it can damage appliances, be bad for skin, etc. However, I looked online and it says a whole house filter is an overkill.

It will be my first house and I'm scared.

Amazon seller harassed me off-platform, A-to-Z claim became a nightmare, and now my review privileges are gone

I honestly don’t know what to do anymore and I’m hoping someone here has advice or has dealt with something similar.

I bought an ECOROAD electric scooter from a third-party Amazon seller. After testing it, I noticed the scooter performance didn’t match the listing description (speed/range issues), so I contacted the seller for support.

Instead of helping, the situation escalated badly.

The seller’s support became rude and hostile, then started contacting me outside Amazon through Telegram. They taunted me, intimidated me about my refund, told me there was “nothing I could do,” and even demanded additional money before I could supposedly receive my refund. Some messages were deleted after being sent, but I managed to screenshot part of the conversation before they disappeared.

Because of this behavior, I opened an Amazon A-to-Z claim.

This is where things became extremely confusing.

Over several days, I spent HOURS talking to Amazon through chats, escalations, calls, and leadership support. Different representatives kept giving me completely contradictory information.

Some Amazon reps told me:

  • My refund was already processed
  • I did NOT need to return the scooter
  • Amazon would handle everything directly because of seller misconduct
  • The A-to-Z team would take over the case
  • I should stop dealing with the seller entirely

I even received an email from an Amazon rep explicitly stating:

  • A full refund was processed
  • I would receive my money back
  • I did not need to return the item

Then later reps told me:

  • The refund was NOT processed
  • The claim was still under review
  • I DID need to return the scooter
  • My claim was eventually withdrawn because “additional information” wasn’t provided

The problem is: I repeatedly contacted Amazon asking HOW to provide the requested information because the process wasn’t clear at all. I kept reaching out because I did not want the claim closed, yet it was eventually withdrawn anyway.

Meanwhile, the seller refused to provide prepaid return shipping even though:

  • the product allegedly had issues,
  • I reported harassment,
  • and their own support behavior caused the escalation.

At that point I no longer trusted the seller at all and was genuinely worried they would:

  • deny the refund,
  • falsely claim the item was damaged,
  • or retaliate further.

So I documented everything carefully and returned the scooter myself through UPS.

The shipping alone cost me $177.19 because the seller’s listed dimensions/weight turned out to be inaccurate and UPS remeasured the package.

The package was delivered successfully and signed for in Plano, TX.

After all of this, another issue appeared:
My Amazon account now seems restricted from leaving reviews.

This makes absolutely no sense to me because:

  • I did not manipulate reviews
  • I did not violate guidelines
  • I did not harass anyone
  • I only attempted to leave an honest negative review warning other buyers about my experience

What concerns me even more is that when I originally purchased the scooter, I remember seeing around 15 reviews on the listing. After all of this happened and I checked the listing again later, the review count had dropped to only around 3 reviews.

That honestly raised even more concerns for me because:

  • I already experienced harassment and intimidation from the seller,
  • my own ability to leave reviews suddenly disappeared,
  • and now multiple reviews on the listing appear to be gone as well.

I obviously cannot prove exactly why the reviews disappeared, but combined with everything else that happened, it feels extremely suspicious.

At this point I’m exhausted.

This entire process has taken days of constant chats, calls, escalations, screenshots, shipping arrangements, emotional stress, and confusion. I’ve dealt with harassment, conflicting instructions from Amazon, fear about losing hundreds of dollars, and now potential account restrictions on top of it.

Has anyone dealt with:

  • Amazon A-to-Z claims involving seller harassment?
  • Sellers contacting buyers off-platform?
  • Review privileges suddenly disappearing?
  • Refunds after returning an item at your own expense?
  • Listings where reviews suddenly vanished?

I’d appreciate any advice because this situation has honestly been overwhelming.

I emailed jeff@amazon.com and I don't even know if that works. Has anyone had experience emailing them recently and received a response? How long did it take?
