Paramount claiming Letterman clips?
So I put David Letterman's 9/11 monologue on YT. It got a a few thousand views in like a week and people in the comments were saying they were happy to see it again because it kept getting taken down. And then it got taken down by Paramount a few days later.
I emailed the paramount copyright people asking how they're able to do that because I thought Letterman's people own his stuff and they didn't respond to me but the claim quickly disappeared.
Can somebody explain this? I don't know much about this stuff.
Craig Ferguson's "American On Purpose" is a Masterpiece
I watched the premiere episode, the second one airs on CNN tonight at 9PM EST.
I'm someone who is very cynical of and pessimistic about today's America. But Craig's appealing personality and perspective as an immigrant really imbued a sense of hope and appreciation in me.
The format is a bit of a hybrid between Conan and Anthony Bourdain. His open-mindedness and charisma traveling across the US masterfully balances the things that make America great without whitewashing.
It's equal parts interesting and funny, and it really solidifies the value of human connection in today's world, and Craig showcases an incredibly strong ability to connect with everyday people outside of the late night talk show format.
Here's a rough synopsis of the first episode. I would recommend not looking at it so you can watch for yourself but i'll still leave it here if you want a peek.

Craig didn't have much that truly stuck after The Late Late Show despite his immense talent, but this feels like the show he was meant to do.
Can we talk about how terrible MLB's "proprietary" algorithm is?
The average % chance ranges around 63-66% depending on the year. Anybody can get that number in like 2 minutes with an iPhone calculator
1-(1-.22)^4.18 = .646
But the range of values from the "engine" are like 60-70 which is just beyond stupid
if you take H/PA: .250 & PA: 4.4 which isn't even that high
1-(1-.25)^4.4= .718
Who the fuck put this on there and represented it as MLB's "proprietary engine" what kind of lazy-ass pinheads do they have other there
