“SoBo/South Delhi girl” stereotype? My hot take cuz it happened to me🫣

soo one of my younger coaching teachers eventually got comfortable with our batch and told us the first impressions she had of everyone. Apparently, she initially thought I was some rich, elite SoBo/South Delhi girl because of my style and personality, and assumed I was probably a greedy, mean-attitude type.

Then she said when she actually talked to me and realised I was the complete opposite like -a sweet, slightly wimpy, introverted nerd who was serious about studies and basically just a padhaku bacchi 💀. The funniest part? I’m not even from SoBo. I’m from another part of Mumbai.

It made me wonder though, why is “SoBo girl” or “South Delhi girl” so often used as an insult? If a girl likes fashion, dresses well and is career-focused, why do people automatically assume she’s spoiled, entitled or mean? Obviously stereotypes aren’t true for everyone, but I’m curious what people here think.

About clubs at ICT Mumbai

Hello , joining ICT this year and had a few questions about the clubs :)
How active are the clubs ,especially the Literary Club? How often are meetings/events, and how flexible is participation? Is regular attendance expected, and can first years join multiple clubs?
Also ,what kind of activities/work does the Literary Club usually involve? Would really appreciate some insight from current students/alumni. Thanks!

Joining ICT Mumbai B.Tech Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Technology this year. What should I know?

Hi everyone!

I got allotted B.Tech in Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Technology at ICT Mumbai in CAP Round 1, and unless something unexpected happens, I’ll most likely be joining this year. I’m really excited!

I’d love to hear from current students, seniors, or alumni.

A long list of things I’m curious about, would really appreciate if anyone could help to share-

How difficult is the coursework?
Is it more chemistry-heavy, engineering-heavy, or a good mix?
How much of it is conceptual understanding vs memorization?
What’s the workload like?
How are the professors and overall academic environment?
How are placements, internships, and research opportunities?
Is the course well-regarded if I plan to pursue a Master’s abroad?
How are the hostels? Are they clean, safe, and comfortable? What’s the room allocation like, and is there anything I should know before applying?
How’s the campus life, clubs, and student culture?
What’s one thing you wish you had known before joining ICT?

Any advice, tips, or honest opinions would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to joining the ICT family. Thanks!

Her bf admitted to my friend that he g**ns to her? 😭

I’ve been thinking about something random since yesterday.

My friend told me her boyfriend admitted that he sometimes gooned to her Instagram pics, and she somehow found it kind of cute. 😭 They’re actually really respectful towards each other and can be a little cringe because they’re always complimenting each other, but that confession was definitely TMI according to me. 😖

Im not judging. They can do whatever they want, It just made me realize I’d never even considered whether this is something guys normally do with girls they know or follow on Instagram, or if it’s just one of those weirdly specific relationship things. The people around me keeps surprising me with things I didn’t know were apparently a thing. Is this common among men to ts to their female friends/followers/gfs?

Do men actually go*n to their female friends’ or Instagram followers’ pics?

I randomly thought of this because yesterday I heard my friend’s bf who admitted to her that he sometimes gooned to her Instagram pics, and she actually found it cute somehow 😭

So now I’m curious… is this actually common? Do guys ever do this with female friends or girls they follow on Instagram, or is that a pretty rare thing?

I’m 19F and I’m trying to understand what’s wrong with me?

Most days I’m completely fine. I enjoy reading, studying, watching my favorite shows, and spending time with my family. I also help take care of my younger brother (feeding him, helping him sleep, reading to him, homework, treating him when sick, etc.) and look after my mom when she’s sick. I genuinely don’t mind these responsibilities.

But the smallest argument at home completely changes me.
It doesn’t even have to be a major fight. Suddenly I feel: empty and emotionally numb, worthless/useless, like my personality disappears, like I don’t deserve to exist, I lose interest in all my hobbies, books, edits, TV shows, everything, I isolate myself and just want to vent anonymously online.

Once things calm down, I slowly become myself again, which makes me wonder if my emotional state depends too much on whether my environment feels “safe.”
Other things I’ve noticed: I overthink almost everything. I have chronic suicidal thoughts, even on relatively good days (I don’t act on them, but they’re always somewhere in the background).
I struggle to trust people and avoid emotional closeness. I often feel overwhelmed by small emotional triggers compared to everyone else.

I can’t afford therapy, so I’m trying to understand what this could be. Does this sound like emotional dysregulation, anxiety, childhood trauma, or something else?

Has anyone else experienced feeling like one small argument can completely erase your sense of self for hours?

help my libido is ridiculously high almost all day, every day?😭(no creepy dms pls)

Im 19F. I have plenty of hobbies (reading, studying, art, vdo games, etc.), so it’s not like I’m just bored all the time. The problem is that if I read erotic fiction or watch p*rn, it becomes so much worse, so I’ve been avoiding both for a while now.

I’ve never dated, never had sex, and honestly find casual relationships, hookups, or anything like that pretty disgusting for myself. I’m also very avoidant in real life and don’t see myself dating in college either, so “just find someone” isn’t advice that applies to me.

Even after m*sturbating and having an orgasm, I’m only over it for a short while before I’m in the mood again later the same day. It’s honestly exhausting at this point.

For other women:
Is this just hormones at 19?
Did it calm down with age?
What actually helped you besides masturbating?
Has anyone else had a high libido while having little to no interest in dating or casual sex?

I’m genuinely curious because it feels like my body wants one thing while my brain wants the exact opposite. 😭

Realised something odd about myself.

I got highly philosophical for a brief 3 hrs of my life and thus realised the following-
I’m 19F, have never dated, have no close friends, and college starts in a few months. Lately I’ve realized I’m not afraid of people. I’m afraid of what happens when people get too close.

I’m comfortable with surface-level friendships because they feel safe. The moment a relationship requires emotional vulnerability, I instinctively pull away. Somewhere along the way, I started believing that if someone truly knew me, they’d eventually leave. And sometimes their thoughts don’t align with me and then I get bored once I get to really know them and leave asap.

I don’t feel lonely all the time. I genuinely enjoy my own company, books, vdo games and hobbies. But when I see people my age with deep friendships or relationships, it feels less like jealousy and more like mourning something I convinced myself I’d never have.

I often admire people from a distance, but rarely want to close that distance in real life. It feels safer to imagine than to be known.

Maybe years of isolation made me this way. Maybe it’s just my personality. Either way, I can’t imagine myself ever letting people in, and I’m scared this is how I’ll always be.

Bds or Bpharma?

Myquals- 98.49 percentile in cet for pcb , 426 marks in neet 2026. pcb student.

Not getting mbbs, that’s for sure. But more interested in other options.

As ict is very competitive, I have only mere hopes to get in. But I want to be thoroughly aware of which course is good for future opportunities- is B pharma from ict worth it?

I also might have a chance in bds from MGM or Tehrna medical college in Navi Mumbai.

Which should I go for? I have always had a genuine interest in research, and my strongest subjects are chemistry and biology. But I do want a stable academic career in future with opportunities outside india too. Please enlighten me. Thank you

Am I overreacting, or am I taking on too much responsibility for my younger brother?

I’m a 19yo living with my parents and my much younger brother.

During my entrance exams too I did this and since now my entrance exams ended, my daily routine has become almost entirely centered around taking care of him.

A typical day looks like this: (it’s even busier if he has exams)
Wake him up for school.
Brush his teeth.
Bathe him.
Dress him.
Feed him breakfast.
Pack his lunchbox and bottle.
Pack his school bag according to his timetable.
Help him complete homework (sometimes I stay up until 2–3 AM finishing his notebooks because he forgot to do them).
Send him to school.
Do household chores like laundry, serving lunch to the adults
After school, feed him again.
Change his clothes.
Put him down for his afternoon nap.
Wake him up.
Tutor him for around three hours.
Feed him dinner.
Put him to bed.

I genuinely love my little brother and don’t blame him. He’s just a kid.
The problem is what happens when something doesn’t go perfectly.

For example, today I was trying to put him down for a nap, but he ran back into the room to grab his toys. My mother started shouting at me, saying I was “mismanaging” him and that everything should happen exactly on time.
I replied, “You’re very dependent on me, and I’m trying my best.”

She immediately got angry, pulled my brother away, threatened to take over, then called me names in our native language, including “psychopath” and “disobedient,” while slamming doors and continuing to shout.
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened.

Whenever I tell my parents that I’m overwhelmed or ask them to help more, I end up regretting saying anything because the conversation turns into me being blamed or insulted.

Another thing is that I don’t remember either of my parents ever being grateful for what I do for my baby bro. They usually tell me it’s simply my duty as an elder sister because “I’m family.”

Lately I’ve noticed that I feel angry and irritated almost constantly. I also have recurring thoughts where I imagine disappearing or dying, especially after arguments. I don’t have plans to act on those thoughts, but they scare me because they keep coming back.

I genuinely don’t know if I’m overreacting or if this situation would overwhelm most people.
I’m looking for honest opinions from people who have experienced family dynamics like this.
Does this sound like a normal amount of responsibility for a 19-year-old sibling, or have I become a third parent without realizing it?
