pilger EF-4... an extremely rare tornado event.

credit: TornadoTRX.

apologies for the horrendous quality.

the Pilger EF-4 twins struck pilger in 2014, and are one of the rarest types of tornadoes.

initially.. the tornado started out as an extremely strong and violent multi vortex tornado. it quckly grew as it gathered debris from the ground, mostly dust.

it then formed into a classical stovepipe shape, picking up more debris as it went on. eventually, it got closer to the town and the storm chasers realized it would directly impact the town.. unfortunately, a baby caught out in the open was fatally wounded by debris.

it went directly through the middle of the down, and unfortunately the sirens didn't sound quick enough so there was alot of people caught off guard.

as it left the town, storm chasers noticed another tornado forming in the background as it crossed the road in front of them.. the massively significant thing, was that these 2 tornadoes were completely separate from each other. they didn't share a parent.. only the same cell.

these tornadoes were extremely violent, and unfortunately 2 people lost their lives to this event.

lightning striking close during the Rossburn, MB tornado.

credit: Aaron jayjack.

during his half an hour of filming this tornado, he recorded only 1 lightning strike and it was relatively close to him.

he also experienced technical difficulties during the chase, with his audio cutting out several times.

2 minute timelapse of the recent Mossburn, Manitoba tornado.

credit: Aaron jayjack.

wedge tornados are extremely rare in places like canada, but in the last few days.. a massive wedge tornado struck near mossburn in Manitoba, canada.

based on damage recorded by storm chasers and people who did S&R.. it was likely EF-2 to EF-3 strength. but we wont know until the proper authority body evaluates it and hopefully there was no fatalities.

whats on the wrist today?

im an extremely cheap person so i try to spend as little as possible on watches.

today's watch is a Chinese made Kmart watch with a Red, black and gray NATO strap.

i typically wear mine so the actual watch sits to the right on my wrist, hense the bizarre angle.

alternative angle of the Didsbury Canada EF-4 (1/07/2023)

the didsbury EF-4 was one of the strongest and most photogenic tornado's in Canadian history. it ranks top 10 in the most powerful tornadoes in the country.

it holds a particular meteorologic record in Canada.. it lofted a 9-10 ton (9,000-10,000 kg) combine harvester 100 meters. it also effected approximately a dozen houses with 3 them being completely destroyed.

fortunately, this tornado killex zero people and only injured one. a woman was seeking shelter in her basement when the 600 meter wide tornado went by her house, the house collapsed ontop of her and caused some head and midsection injuries.

the unique appearance of this tornado not only made it look otherworldly.. it also made this twister appear bigger than it actually was. the tornado measured under 700 meters wide with 275 kilometer per hour winds.

the dust Field gave the tornado an appearance of that, of a multi mile wide beast due to the MASSIVE amount of dust that was picked up and thrown out of its windfield. the links below provide 2 different perspectives of the tornado.

Prime minister Anthony albanese attended the launch of the Cameron baird foundation at the Australian war memorial in Canberra.

in the last few days, our prime minister attended an event at the Australian war memorial to celebrate the Cameron Baird foundation.. a foundation named after Victoria cross recipient, Cameron baird.

the purpose of the foundation is to raise funds for awareness around what special forces soldiers go through during and after combat.

Cameron Baird VC was one of the most respected soldiers in the 2nd commando regiment and while serving in Afghanistan, conducted himself with the utmost respect and professionalism.

the Victoria cross is the most prestigious military award that can be given to Australian soldiers.. unfortunately, Cameron received his posthumously after being killed in combat in Afghanistan.

the PM can be seen with Victoria cross recipient Daniel keighran who earned the extremely prestigious award due to his heroism in Afghanistan.

when possible, the 2nd commando regiment performs with absolute secrecy in regards to their operations but we know how Cameron baird died.

on the 22nd of June 2013, his team conducted a mission in the Uruzgan province against a Taliban hold when they were ambushed. Cameron, in an act of valor and sacrifice, ran across the compound while under extremely heavy enemy fire to draw fire away from his team.. he was fatally injured due to gun shot wounds sustained by his act of sacrifice..
