Does the GC in your family know they are favored over you?

After many years of NC, I visited my NMOM and Her GC, who is the youngest.

The GC was 16 at the time but I remember an interaction we had that made me think they are aware that they are favored and they did not like the fact that i visited.

I was driving my nmom’s truck and tried to change the song on the radio and my GC said I had no right to decide what song we were listening to because I was driving their truck (GC insinuated that the truck was already theirs) she said something along the lines of “this truck belongs to me and I’m the one that decides what we play” i thought GC was joking but she was pretty firm.

I also noticed that basically all the bank accounts were under GC’s name. (I honestly don’t care about the money because I know how nmom is) ever since I have memory, the GC was the password to everything.

But this made me realize that maybe I will also never be close to my GC sibling because maybe they see me as a threat.

Have you experienced this? Do you cut contact with them too?

Is my ingrown nail back? Read description please.

2 months ago, I got my ingrown nail on my right side removed. It healed and two weeks after the procedure, the doctor said i was healing fine and it was all good. I felt no discomfort or pain.

Today after I went for an intense walk, I got home and noticed some discomfort in the area where the procedure happened.

My nail looks like this now, it’s as if the nail is lifting.

Could this be an infection? Should I book an appointment with the doctor?

do people pull away after you tell them you do not talk to your parents?

I recently noticed a pattern that I will try to fix moving forward, but I noticed that whenever I meet new people and I tell them my life story (because they usually open up to me first) and tell them that I have no contact with either of my parents, they usually pull away after that.

Maybe I come across as too bold/direct. But I wanted to know if someone else has experienced that?

AITAH for moving out because my cousin's bf was a controlling partner?

My cousin is F41 and I am F32. She helped me in a time where I almost became homeless and she opened the doors of her home to me without asking for anything in return.

2 years later, she separated from her then partner and I got myself a 2 bedroom apartment (under my name) and we started living together, splitting costs and living as roommates.

She then met her new partner, he started being very controlling, he did not like to go to our family gatherings, and he was a very jealous man. He did however, helped her financially according to what she says, he would buy her groceries, help her with rent and bills.

She also started going to the family gatherings less because since he was not by her side, she would go like 20 mins and then leave because he would pick her up.

We lived together for about 3 years until I finally got fed up with his attitude.

The last straw for me was, a neighbor from our building picked up a package from the main lobby that belonged to my cousin and dropped it off at our doorstep. This was enough for my cousin's boyfriend to spiral and he started accusing her of cheating with the neighbor.

It got to the point where he asked her for MY number so he could question me about whether or not my cousin was seeing the neighbor.

He called me and we had a heated argument because even though I was telling him multiple times that we did not know the neighbor, he would NOT believe me and he basically admitted that he did not like to interact with our family on purpose and he INSISTED that my cousin was cheating on him.

I recorded this conversation on the phone and showed it to my cousin.

Just for the record, my cousin was NOT cheating on him. The neighbor was simply a nice person. (We did not even know the neighbor's name).

My cousin was embarrassed and told me he would not step foot into the apartment again.

2 days later, she was already sneaking to go see him again, but that was not the issue. When I asked her if she was still seeing him, she said yes and that it was basically none of my business if she decided to keep bringing him to the apartment because she paid half the rent and she could do what she wanted.

She was right about the fact that I did not have a say in her life and I did not mean to tell her what to do, so I moved out and transferred the lease to her name. Yes, before I moved out, I did give her plenty of time to look for another apartment, but since they both were indecisive, I ended up transferring the lease to her to which she agreed at the time. I even paid one more month of rent AFTER I had already moved out and before I officially transferred the lease to her name because I did not want to leave her hanging like that.

One week before he was about to permanently move into the apartment, he was detained by immigration because he had some issues with his status.

So now, my cousin is stuck with paying $3,000 on rent by herself, plus groceries, and she also does not know how to drive. And no she does not want to break the lease because she does not want to damage her credit.

Despite everything that happened, I helped her in the process, I drove her to visit him, I drove her to get groceries, and tried to help her rent my old room out.

I printed posters, I posted on facebook, I posted on websites that there was a room for rent, but I eventually stopped because I noticed that she was not very eager to do the same.

She was almost embarrassed to post the room for rent.

I got her like 5 people that were interested, but every time I would tell her, she would tell me to tell them to to go see the apartment in 2 or 3 days because she still had to tidy it. (people would then lose interest because they would find other options during that timeframe).

What bothered me was that every time I would reach out, she would then complain that she had to pay all that rent by herself, and she is basically working overtime, no days off.

I slowly started to distance myself from her because I noticed that she would complain but she would not actually take action to rent the room out (My family thinks that this man is still manipulating her so no one else can live with her even though he is no longer in the US).

EDIT because many people are missing this: Her boyfriend is NO LONGER IN THE US.

This month, it was her birthday, I wanted to take her out because she basically has no friends, all she does is work and go home. I reached out to her a week in advance, and she was all dry and told me she would let me know in advance if she was free, I did not hear from her for like 2 weeks after her birthday had already passed.

I feel like she is resentful towards me because at the end of the day, I was the one who moved out because I could not take the her partner's disrespect anymore and I did not want to fight with her for dating a controlling man.

I am not sure how to feel because she helped me a lot when I needed it, and I feel like I am in debt with her, and I want to help her too, but I feel like she does not want to help herself and that where I cannot do anything because she is still clung to that man and does not do anything to rent the room out but keeps complaining that she is basically working only to pay rent.

any tips from the people who create content?

Thanks in advance!

Can’t eat dinner 1 year after gallbladder removal

It has been almost 1 year and a half since the removal and I feel like I can’t eat dinner because the food just sits in my stomach and it’s so uncomfortable to sleep like that.

I can’t even eat past 4 o 5 because even if I go to bed at 7. It’s like the food has still not processed in my stomach.

Breakfast and lunch are good.

Has anyone experienced that before?

How are we finding good used cars on Facebook marketplace?

I want to buy a car that’s being sold by someone who has a spare car, not someone who sells cars for a living. Lately, it feels like Facebook is full of private sellers who get cars at auctions with rebuilt titles and resell them for profit.

Any tips on how to find a used car online?

Can a group block you?

I recently downloaded the App and requested to enter a local group of girls. This group had like 500+ people in it. 3 weeks passed and they did not accept my request so I cancelled and sent it once more.

Next day after I resent the request, the group disappeared from my list. I tried to look it up and it’s gone.

I wonder if the creator of the group blocked me? Not sure why because I have pictures of myself.

Has this happened to anyone?

Do you unmatch people who are slow to respond?

I recently joined trying to find friends, but must people take 1 to 4 business days to reply.

Do you take them seriously or unmatch.

I do understand people have busy lives, but if you downloaded the App I assume it’s because you have free time that you are looking to fill by making friends?

Would you cook for your man if he pays the rent but you still have to work?

Ladies, I want to know. Would you cook for your man every day if you both work full time and he only pays the rent and for the dinners on Saturdays, and you pay utilities like light bill and wifi but you still have to work because he doesn’t give you gifts or money to treat yourself here and there?

The business I sued is going bankrupt.

Location: New York

I recently sued a car dealership using a lawyer that has sued them 3 times in the past and has gotten a settlement, but this time was different, because the same dealer was being sued by the state and the state won because the dealer was doing fraudulent practices and they were ordered to pay over a million dollars.

Well, right after the state won, my lawyer called me and told me that the business is going bankrupt, that he will try to get the dealer to buy my car back, but it is not guaranteed they will have the money to pay me if we continue with the lawsuit.

I'm not sure if this is a tactic used by the dealer to try to get me to settle for less money, or if they are truly going bankrupt because according to their google reviews, they are selling cars every single day. So business is still going strong.

How can I see if the business is truly filing for bankruptcy?

My aunt wants me to have at least one child.

I'm 24F, work and study, and for the longest, I have seen the women in my family be tied to a partner they do not love or work their behinds to provide for their kids as single mothers.

My aunt stayed married to her first husband for 30 years all because of their kids. She gave them all, spoiled them and was a fairly good mother, once she decided to divorce and move out. She realized that her kids would not support her at all, if anything, they ask her for money because she pampered them too much, to the points where it's hard for them to be independent and get a job. Long story short, being a good mother did not work for her because either way, her children are not supportive, and do not visit her.

I am the only one that visits her and takes her to the grocery shop or takes her out to eat because just like she has been a good mother, she helped me when I had some tough times, and I like to be grateful.

Recently, she has insisted that I have a child with my partner (whom I am not married to). I told her that I do not have a mother instinct like she does, and that having children does not guarantee that they will be by your side when things get hard even if you give them everything. Also, I do not see myself taking that responsibility. Plus, I told her I am not married yet.

She said that there are women out there who can also be single mothers and work hard to provide, insinuating that if I have a child and things don't work out with my partner, I can be a single mother and work hard and still provide for my child...

I was so disappointed when she told me that because I wish she was the type to encourage me to study, travel, or start a business, all the things she DID NOT get to do because she was tied to a man she did not love for their children.

How do y'all deal with people like that?

can you please suggest any online stores that sell this type of outfits or style? I want them to be feminine and chic.

Edit: I spent this much because this is NOT an everyday purchase and I have money saved up. Like I said, I have not gone to a single concert in 2 years and I DID NOT ask him for money to buy the ticket. The point of this post is NOT the money I spent. It is his reaction.

One of my favorite artists is coming to my city, and my partner (29M) is not a fan of going to concerts. I (25F) invited him to go with me, but he refused. I did not take it personally because it's just not his vibe, plus I know that he is tight on money right now, even though I was willing to pay for his entry. I told him I was then gonna go by myself (I have never gone to a concert by myself, but this time, I could not miss this concert). He said that was okay.

The day of the ticket sale arrived, and I purchased a $489 ticket and immediately let him know the good news.

His first response was: "I could never spend that much on an artist."

I was taken aback by his response because he did not even acknowledge my happiness in that moment, but instead, I felt like his comment was passive-aggressive.

I want to clarify that I do not go to concerts regularly. I used to go to concerts before I met him, with friends. But we have been dating for 2 years, and since he doesn't like them, I stopped going. But this time, I could not miss the opportunity to go see my artist.

I pointed out that I did not appreciate his comment at all because it was unnecessary at that moment to tell me that. I was expecting my partner to at least be happy for me.
