Do you still like the N64 Turok 2 version?

(Framerate issues)

Of all the N64 games with a bad framerate (that are at least considered good) this one might take the cake. It's borderline unacceptable at times and i wish it even had a lower RES mode actually... I would argue that the first Turok plays quite well on the N64 heck the other main FPS GE and PD despite also dealing with framerate problems work beter than wel. Also, that blasted Lock-Spring aiming is only completely off on Arcade controls. Overclocking does help a lot and if this was the actual framerate it would mostly be on par with the other N64 FPS games. (I think?)

(Why i love it)

What i actually love about Turok 2 is the atmospheric mystique of it all rather than the WOW GORE AND DINOSAURS!! Plus, combined with the unknown danger and dread makes it really immersive.

(Taking more and making it less?)

First Turok game might be more minimalistic but is more cohesive than Turok 2. While the Sequel has beter graphics beter animation more complex AI bigger worlds ect... And i do think it works for the most part and even elevate in a way. But at the same time, it has huge worlds and exploration but it's a really linear, it has complex AI but also has crazy gun action. Turok 2 might be considered to be a precursor to Metroid Prime due being made by the same people who developed Prime and you can see early DNA in Turok 2.

(Other Notes)

I actually like the Lair of the Blind ones the Hive of the Mantis is more repetitive and is just as confusing also those Mantis soldiers are really annoying. Though almost all levels have reused hallways segments and the first half Primagen Lightship quite suffers from this.

Only being able to save in Stations does drag and it takes 70 points in the Memory pack plus no warp.

The gradient shading of the N64 is missing in the Remaster version plus the Turok icon looks dumb.

Turok 2 is one of my favorites on the N64 but it's a game that i can't always recommend to anyone even the Remaster version. Many would find it confusing or even a slog. It's experimental combinations makes it standout to other FPS games.

Any thoughts on RaKuGaKids?

At first i thought this game was bit of a dud due feeling quite slow at first and slow down when certain projectiles appear. But i stuck with it and it was quite clicking for me, the style does give it a strong identity and is beter than good for someone that wants a different fighting game. Though do look up the manual there is where you learn the input command.

I don't think this game reaches the same heights the best on what fighting games has to offer but IDK i like it.. Perhaps Fighter Destiny and Killer Instinct are the best fighters on the N64 or Smash Bros of course.

Me thinks PE II is the beter game..

In general the first game is visually punchy and unique but gameplay is quite straight forward and minimal. While the second has more dynamic exploration and the combat is fleshed out. Like the environment has affect in the fights also enemies are on the over-world rather than being random encounters.

You could say that the first game had a beter story and characters like Daniel Dollis and Eve always being present while PE II has a crazy dude that is absent for a good chuck of the game >!and i guess shoehorning in another Eve final boss .!< But neither stories are anything to write home about, the unique tone and atmosphere did most of the lifting.

I did rage quit both games though.. The first one was too many random encounters close of the end of the game and in the second was the semi final boss that was a slog and the final boss that was gonna be fair if it wasn't for that clone that kept pursuing you.

A term i called the Skeleton on motorcycle critique..

And it basically goes like this.. One person (in this case a easily tempered nerd) points at one silly thing and calls it a flaw while others treat it as some gospel to be taking seriously despite the more you think about it the more this critique falls apart.

Even if it wasn't the case that Dracula is trying to get an edge in technology, skellemans on motorcycles is cool okay. And you can't use the it's 'not accurate of the time' logic due lore reasons.

So in other words SOM critique just means one reviewers gets hung up by one superfluous thing many go parrot and me get befuddled.. And yeah i do really love both N64 Cv games though Legacy of Darkness is the way to go.

The just do the Gamecube stick solution is a not a universal solution..

Yes i still curse the maker who designed the N64 Joystick. I mean why make one of the main selling point so fragile?! Also also pretty much ALL OG N64 STILL WORK MINUS THAT BLASTED JOYSTICK!! (unless it's done by external damage) But anyway.. there is one thing that the OG N64 joystick does really well is precision and the Gamecube sticks are too sensitive. They are better than fine for most none FPS games but when you play a FPS game it's very hard near impossible even. The main ones are Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.

The litmus test should be can you beat Perfect Dark Shooting Gallery challenges. I get Perfect Agent and 007 mode is too hard for most. But there is one Joystick that does not have wear(i think?) and a good sensitivity (not exact) is the Superpad Pro controller. (you know also odd looking one). Many might be snubbing it but i mean it!!! I am not saying they need to use this shape but only copy the Joystick.

Still to this day many reviewers praise the next modern N64 without mentioning the sensitivity..

Also 90 BUCKS?!! I say just get a Hori clone or something...

I really hope that this show is great by not copying the previous two.

I actually really like LOK. I see it as Majoras Mask version of ATLAB. ATLAB is more of a classic Hero journey and LOK is more experimental with themes. And i hope Seven Havens brings new ideas to the table or at least extend what was already there.

The worst outcome might be it´s another action show that is well made but nothing special..

Some issues with the Modretro that i found..

First Banjo Tooie does not except any overclocking it just shows some land and some water while the intro plays.

Legacy of Darkness in High Res mode creates motion blur.

Perfect Dark has off tune echo sounds i think that it fixes if you use stereo. And what i heard is that overclocking is worse than the Analogue 3D?( i keep forgetting that name..)

My first EMU cart barely works but my second one does.

So any thougts..?

O aight who is the one who actually fell for his stick?

https://preview.redd.it/mriks8zux6hh1.png?width=569&format=png&auto=webp&s=afdbc01349500358fa7b804df0d6e47cbaba0abb

What does O aight mean? Oh.. it's just a short hand for alright but anyway. Since i like the ask the question if there is a pro cyclist still has to rely on those wheel stabilizers.. is there someone who genuinely fell for his trap? And no doing it on purpose does not count.. And if someone did, that person should be famous or something..?

I did fell for Petrus facade (i even tried to comfort him the first time around) and Laurtrec killing the Fire Keeper*( though for some reason i mostly kill him in Anor Londo).*

Asami personal journey is quite good.

(Vague spoilers ahead.)

>!If i had to describe Asami personality is that she has a modestly earnest personality and really supportive even when getting the short end of the stick like Mako lack of loyalty towards her. When being wronged or irritated she usually keeps her head clear and response honestly and direct. Her character while not the most extravagant is dynamically written and sincere and her character always worked for me. !<

>!I think many seem to forgot what Asami goes trough first she deals with the fact that her father is part of the Equalists than Mako's lack of loyalty towards her*(like she did nothing wrong in that situation as far as i know)* nearly getting bankrupted due a con maybe trying to get back with Mako but not working out and begrudgingly trying to reunite with her father only for him to die. Seeing this earnest lady doing her best only to get these many setbacks while again trying to keep a cool head is done well and her getting the girl at the end is a nice payoff. !<

>!There are many little moments that well round her character like when Ikki bluntly told Asami.(she had a unpleasant feel but still not trying to make a scene of it) And hated how Eska treated Bolin well.. Asami told Bolin to stand up for him. Or when Bolin would'a won and was happy for him. And the best one is when Asami gave all the emotional support when Korra was enduring her painful silence. !<

So any more thoughts about Asami here?

N64 specs and having more advantages than you think..

Not gonna lie for the most part i though that due the cartridge format of the N64 anything that that it did could be done on the PS1 with ease. And making me wonder why there where so many large 3D games on the N64? Like one level of Banjo and Kazooie should'a taking all the space of the cartridge. But also why PS1 3D games where more limiting*(you know overhead 2D pre-render art ect..).*

But there is one advantage that the N64 had (i think??) that it could do achieve more at the moment like having way more stuff in one level. At first i never thought that the shorter load times where that much of an advantage but it's not just that. The shorter load times made 3D gaming more seamless while the PS1 had to pre-loads things first or something..? And my two cents is that the pre-load data has to be active while using current RAM leaving less RAM at the current moment.

(Don't take my techno mumbo jumbo as gospel but for i am but nothing but a shrimpanzee..)

So most of the N64 games wouldn't be the same if it used CD's and i am quite grateful for that. (ps.. i still love all three systems (pats the Saturn on the head due being good boi).

N64 specs and the not being one sided compared to PS1..

(This post is an extra discussion from Kaze Emanuar video N64 doesn't use CDs and THAT IS GOOD.)

Caestus does 21 poise damage?! Niche use?

Yeah yeah yeah.. IT'S ALBOUT THE LOOKS BABY!! It's not about that.. But Caestus hits fast and unlike the daggers it has high poise damage . Though damage is lacking and might be still one of the worst weapons in the game. But i did a mostly dagger run and damage is still fine when two handed which is perhaps the Caestus problem.

I am aware of the Thorn Gauntlets 20 damage buff but anyway maybe repeated poise break might give the Caestus or any First weapon more use than you think and i do like that Fist Weapons are really good in later Dark Souls game.

Though never did a run my self so let me know some more thoughts about the Fist Weapons catagory..

I don't like the Titanite system all that much..

My main problem is that you are kinda forced to stick with one weapon or a few other weapons that use Twinkeling Titanite or the Demon and Dragon variants. There is the fear aspect of wasting good materials but being semi smart that ain't much a factor anymore. Also their is the Titanite Slab and they are only a few in the game if you don't count farming only for mighty thing is only used for single stat upgrade.

If it was up to me you only need one Titanite type for each increase like a Small Shard would go from 0 to 5 but at a much higher cost. Having no special ember prevents you from upgrading. The special variants of the Titanite you only need one for each upgrade. And maybe for Dragons weapons only one time upgrade or three.

Also any Slab is a infinite upgrade but the cost is drastically higher. IDK? Am i a sack and i religion for thinking this? Got a bad feeling about this one..

Is Maggie a wee bit underrated?

I don't watch a lot of Simpsons but what i gathered is that Maggie is mostly unassumingly indifferents towards most things but also can have a instant tenacity towards danger. When she is the focus Maggie is in a hostile place while either parents are oblivious to it. And Maggie tend to get scared*(which makes her a real woobie)* but still undeterred and all without dialogue*(except for a few exceptions)*.

Maybe many think she is just a gimmick character (you know her pacifier sound) but she has a lot of character, and from vague memories that should'a been obvious...

If Hank Hill was referee for the world cup..

I am gonna have to ask you to put that propane hating man up your ass before i kick you ass. I mean it..

And foul play in the World Cup decreases with zeven hundred and twelve percent and Hank now has the entire IRS after him for some reason..

Did a no kill Crystal Lizard run..

https://preview.redd.it/yce314nd5sah1.png?width=822&format=png&auto=webp&s=d92f9f9fcf6a15155a9443e6db3ee24e1de9751d

And the ones that jumped off a cliff don't count but i think they are very cute and feel bad for killing them i know they become giant and there are the medium sized annoying ones but chasing these buggers makes me feel like some blood poacher who is tainted by greed. Maybe give the player a sin count anytime you kill these spudgies.

I in general don't kill anything that doesn't attack me the game due the game already being depressing as it is.

Nagging at one scene of Rouge Elements that i saw a glimpse of..

One dude uses a rocket launcher aims at a women (i assume she is on the good team) she dodges the explosion that is like TWO METERS AWAY from her!! You know kinda like a typical green-screen explosion i guess? But i mean come.. i know all action movies throw believability out the window but this is just pushing it mate..

(The hit glanced right off!! Anyone played Pokemon Stadium here? If so you might get a kick out of it..)

Second.. Who the heck uses a Rocket Launcher to take down just one soldier?! But yeah that is what i could gather from the few clips i seen and i do stand by that it's okay to make a bad movie*(IDK maybe it's secret masterpiece?)* and that does not make William Jordan Peterson a awful person because of it, though it's of course ironic who criticize movies now make a bad movie himself and this drama merchant is now getting a taste of his own medicine.
