just put whatever in a bowl of noods (no soup!)

i fried up my leftovers and finish it with a slurry of oyster sauce (veg) and potato starch. pile it over wet noods strained and mixed with sesame oil. all you need besides is cold beer.

ostrich 313 iron gall ink

phone pic sorry. 2nd pic dip pen, 3rd pic glass pen.

the 313 is a very old school ink and afaik it dates back to the 70s. its more on the blue side, very very similar to the newer 223, but in a bigger 50ml bottle. it dries somewhat quicker than 223 tho. both them are on the blue side. as for my baiyun(white cloud) its on the grey side, about the same vintage as 313 but its paler over all. drying time wise, baiyun is the fastest, the ostriches are similar.

very few info about these blue black as normies dont care about dye ink vs old school iron gall ink, but they are all iron gall due to that funky smell, herbal and metallic.

water spinach with fermented tofu, flamethrower edition

the quintessential summer dish. with my personal twist ofc, 3 big bird's eyes. fermented tofu is quite an acquired taste but i like all kinds of soy bean related food.

unusual nibs with ink storage

got 3 old, odd, maybe stainless steel nibs, called "dengta" or lighthouse. wrote with model 126, with a single dip it can write a whole page, and the flow is very conservative. model 822 is very similar to 126 but maybe slightly bigger with very similar write. as for 324 its more like a traditional nib with more flex but very picky on ink, i have many fountain pen inks and it refused to write with most of them. any idea what are they for and how old are them?

i really cant write properly without the grid (dip pen)

my characters look like knock off legos when i dont write on my dot grid notebook. i dont know do they construct the shape without the guides. btw just got this dip pen, one dip can write a hundred characters or entire page, quite nice.

tofu, lotus roots w/ veggie sausages

not a fan of meat analogue but i goe some that taste ok. its uncommon to stir fry lotus roots (they are nightmare to wash!) but idk, i think the crunchy-sweetie vibe mixes with the spices very well.

my new jinhao 159 in purp

it seems 159 (non-x) is kinda underrated, but i dig that big girl look, especially this deep purple. no name pale brownish ink. i think the pen is probably the best writing big pen i have, better than 100 cuz posted its not as long and better balanced. tho the EF nib is a bit scratchy. also i wonder if theres a purple on gold one, i think silver looks ok, i just dont know if gold works here tho.

my writing with different instrustments

fountain pen (orange-red), dip pen (with glass pen in middle) and ball point pen (black)

i really really hate ball point pen no matter what i write, even to the point that i prefer marker over it because i like friction. i think friction makes writing enjoyable. anyways critics and suggestions~

old pen day: vintage 90s "golden star" pen, and new hongdian orange red ink

not an old pen person but i cant help after seeing this lovely dark lavender colour. the pen looks and feels really good, the barrel has a rough matte finish that im worry it might peel off after a while. the nib is good too, smooth, flow is restrained, not very scratchy even tho its on the finer side. the logo reminds me of the emblem of italy.

build quality is good too, she's a very hefty girl, roughly the same as jinhao 100, just a bit thinner. it comes with an old school rubber sac converter which im very not a fan of (thats why i dont like old pens). luckily, and surprisingly, i find out that it the old converter looks awfully similar to modern one, so i just jammed my jinhao 1001's 3.4mm converter in and it fits, like, made for it, no leaks whatsoever.

writing with it is quite good, 7/10. some ppl like the heft but it is still a very long pen so when posted it gets very bottom heavy, but still posts nonetheless. its a rather well made pen, mostly metal, id say golden bits are all bronze except the clip. there is no logo or lettering anywhere on the outside which is a plus for ppl who care.

pros: surprising well made, good writing quality, excellent surface finish

cons: not a screw on cap, heavy, rare

also, the ink is hongdian orange red, it seems every1 is fascinated with blood like ink, not for me, im a lighter tone ink person.

baiyun 760 iron gall ink (w/ dip pen)

i love this ink and it flows quite nicely with my old tip but i dont think i write good enough that the dip pen feels kinda wasteful on my.

the ink dries in a navy shade not blue-black and i think its kinda nice, smells fine to. its quite hard to get the hands on these as some are labled as archival ink but this one is iron gall, costs about 4 usd w/o postage.
