Fire pots/cradles have been around since man basically first learned to make fire and it's probably one of the only reasons we survived long enough to create civilization.
Is this incredibly hard to do in these climates or is this just something not worth it to do? Or are there some sort of regulations where they're not allowed to keep a fire going 24/7?
>!Mr Booth not even trying to keep that first fire going is wild to me, or even at least trying to save some coals to keep smouldering something.!< I feel like I've only ever seen a handful of contestants create a fire cradle of some design, and they usually end up being pretty successful outside of fire accidents here and there.
For anyone not familiar with the concept, fire pots/cradles are basically devices of early man used to keep low temperature slow burning fires/embers/coals in crude containers made from fire blackened wood or earthen containers so they could basically have portable fire.
I have been absolutely struggling for MONTHS to actually be able to sleep with my cpap on. I get like, 1-2 hours until it gets too uncomfortable and take it off, sometimes subconsciously.

I didnt sleep for that long, 5.5 hours, but the mask was on the whole time! Here is to hoping I can continue the trend going forward.

Mask seal and humidifier were both happy faces, EPH was 2.7 and total time 5:26.

Any tips to keep the streak going?
So, last night I tried to setup my A1 with Orcaslicer and nothing is working now. It recognizes and finds the printer, but trying to connect just instantly fails.
Lan Only Mode/Developer Mode, still wouldn't connect. I tried 2.32, 2.40, I even tried all the different connect versions you can use in Orca, nothing worked.
My A1 unfortunately is on most recent firmware, and I know that's part of the problem since bambu is specifically trying to block 3rd parties from even accessing the printers.
Is this new? I saw another post in here about 8 days ago saying they suddenly also couldn't even use Lan mode anymore.
What is the current solution? Bambu slicer sucks for my A1 especially with the types of filaments I've been suing, and I've noticed my print quality suffers GREATLY when trying to use bambulabs slicer instead.
Has anyone had luck using that orcaslicer software that louis rossman hosted? I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work on my machine.
EDIT: I was able to get it working and wanted to share my solution with other people.
While it may seem counterintuitive, upgrade the A1 firmware to latest from Bambu.
After that, install the version of Orca listed here: https://github.com/FULU-Foundation/OrcaSlicer-bambulab/issues/24
Follow the instructions that Tyler posted for version 2.4 and then just log into your Bambu account like normal and connect the printer the way you normally would, no Lan Only mode required.
This is actually the fix that Bambu initially sued over but then was boosted by GamersNexus and Louis Rossmann since Bambu was clearly just trying to intimidate but was in the wrong.
I was able to connect and then print without issue! I don't how how you would go about updating your Orcaslicer after this however.
Kinda joking but not joking! I read someone else do the same thing and it seemed like the best way to watch it.
Edit 1: Looks like a tossup between Tanforan and Newpark. Newpark has that traditional 80s/90s mall layout but Tanforan opens earlier.
Edit 2: Newpark Mall it is! It's closer to me and it has more of a traditional mall layout than Tanforan. But I will think about Tanforan in the future for more matinee showings of films that have been out for a while and are unlikely to be too packed.
Thanks for all the recommendations!
First we built the Pizza oven out of trash in an Abandoned Sandstone Mine , then we baked pizza from fresh inside it an then we ate it !

Plan to mount the dipole outside on roof then connect to RG6 that will run from roof to indoors and then terminate at either my Midland WR-400 or Sangean 909x/XHData D109WB. Probably Midland for overnight weather reports/alerts and then either the Sangean/XHData for leisure use.
Will this work better than my whip antennas that are inside the house?
Far as I can tell, the RG6 and Dipole are both 75 ohm, and from what I read, that should be fine for listening only, no transmitting.
Has anyone done this before? Has anyone specifically done this to try and get used to wearing their CPAP at night?
Is there any reason to believe this would be less than beneficial or even harmful? Most all NIH studies I could find either find a benefit to exercising with CPAP actively running as well as exercise capacity increasing with longterm CPAP use.
909x is in perfect condition, nothing wrong with it, but with weather becoming more violent these days I also want to have access to weather stations.

Should I just get a standalone weather radio or might it make sense to upgrade to a C Crane 2E or 3? Any other suggestions perhaps?

Budget is anywhere from 50-100 for a dedicated weather/emergency radio but open to suggestions outside of that budget.

Could I even make my own DIY weather radio? I own a 3D printer and know the basics around soldering/breadboards.
First Day, chest pain and tightness induced panic attack, went to the ER, chest xray, bloodwork and ct scan later, released with no issue.
Second Day, mild chest pain and tightness, felt okay, but woke up this morning (didnt sleep really) with a jolt, HR to 120, with hot flash cold and clammy then proceeded go into a weird shaking/poor temp regulation etc. at one point muscle tightness, but it went away eventually.
Called nurses line and I seem to have recovered, I feel the right amount of chill with windows open, no more shaking or weird HR.
A doctor on the nurse line told me to stop taking cymbalta.
Unlikely to get withdrawls after only 2 doses right?
Doctor prescribed it for chronic pain/migraines.
I guess cymbalta isnt right for me! I actually tried going into it really positively too! Because I saw some success stories and wanted that for me too.
Hello!
Because of some serious health conditions/disabilities I'd rather not disclose, I am especially compromised against respiratory and airborne illnesses and extremely sensitive to airborne allergens.
But my problem is that I love hockey and comic conventions and haven't been to a live game or convention since 2019.
I use a Medium 3M 6800 Full Facemask for medical appointments and crowded costco trips and as you can imagine it's quite alarming for regular joes to encounter in public. I want to be able to add themed outer masks to it to make it more fun and less alarming to the general public.
Because of that, I'd love to be able to attach 3D printed cosplay style attachments to it magnetically, but I would need someone to design the base attachment system.
I don't know of any technical design documents with precise measurements for the 3M 6800, so what I would have to do is send you a full mask with some filters on it already so it's easier for you to get precise measurements to better design the system.
Requirements:
I know this is a lot to ask for, but I'd really love to go to hockey games and conventions again and not feel self conscious the entire time I'm there. I want folks to point and smile or laugh, and not point and scowl or laugh (derogatory).
Recently been having some digestion issues and blood testing today has my glucose over 100, some recent imaging of liver shows some "mild fatty changes in your liver".
I dont have a reading of my A1C yet. Am I destined for type 2 or have folks been able to reverse at this stage?
Im male, 43, 5'7" and around 205lbs. I know I can lose some weight and start slowly increasing my activity levels and my eating habits. I also suffer from migraines and mild muscular dystrophy.
Has anyone been in a similar state to me and been able to turn things around? My doctor hasnt commented on the blood tests yet and Ill be talking to them soon, but I wanted to hear some tough talk and stories from folks in here before hand so I can mentally prepare myself for a likely diagnosis.
Edit: Fasting Glucose is 105, not 107, messed up the title.
