I need to be able to court martial my colonists

I get it living in a place with unsmoothed walls and stuff all over the ground isnt ideal thats why I assign tasks to you fix those things even if that time could be spent making sure you know we dont starve to death in the first winter or dont freeze in four degree weather without coats.

However the absolute bare minium should be if we're fighting for our lives against a hosile raid or stopping your team mate from bleeding out on the floor you dont throw a literal tantrum over not having a table.

I can only imagine what the actual army would do to a guy that decided to break priceless military equipment instead of you know keeping your buddies blood inside his body.

Why wasn't it pretty obvious who killed the Comedian [Comic]?

Whoever did this got the better of the comedian in a physical confrontation.

It's theoretically possible that a burglar got lucky....but very unlikely.

That leaves a handful of people who could have feasibly done this.

  1. Dr Manhatten. Not his style; could have faked evidence to look like a burglary but widely out of character for him and no known motive.

  2. Night Owl II: I have a really hard time seeing him beat the comedian in a fist fight; especially without his gadgets any motives require a few assumptions. Hes put on a few and out of pratice.

  3. Silk Spectre II: Has a motive but I also struggle to see her beat the Comedian; shes younger but hes much more experienced and easily has 60 pounds on her.

  4. Ozymandius: One of the only people on this list who I can easily see doing it; small motive in that 1) he got in a fight with the comedian years ago he seemed to take personally and 2) he met the guy.

  5. Rorscach: Actually a pretty viable suspect from the polices side; they don't know him enough (i think) to know he'd make excuses for the comedians behavior and a murder like this would not be out of character. I dont think Rorscach can beat the comedian but I give him 2/10 odds.

  6. Some communist operative: It's debatable if they have anyone who could do this on US soil and even if they did its also debatable if it would be a good use of resources; getting caught would be a disaster.

Pretty much everyone else is way too old and/or out of shape (Silk Specter I, Hollis Mason, Moloch), Hooded Justice has been mia for years and theres no clear reason why he would have appeared now (comedian probaly murdered him years ago).

From the cops side Rorscach is the best suspect, from Rorscachs side it should be Ozymandius as while the motive is pretty weak he's the only one of two who could and throwing some out the window is not Dr Ms style.

Granted with the fake assination it does make it harder for Nite Owl II but you still need a suspect who can beat up a guy built like a linebacker (even if hes getting old) with decades of experience in brawls.

The One Time I Gave my Colonist a Free Pass for a Break...

My colonist literally had their partner cheat on them and dump them while they were giving birth.

And if that werent enough within 24 hours somehow a fox managed to sneak in the base and chew off the babies foot (the babies crib was next to another colonist; the fox was beaten to death almost immediately but the damage was done.

This is the one time I'm going to give you a free pass for snapping and trying to free the gorehulk.

Why did Mal and Jayne want to get the body out of the ship asap?

I'm referring to Dobson in the pilot.

Okay obviously having a dead fed aboard is a recipe for disaster but was it really necessary to risk getting caught in the doors to throw his body in the desert? They could have easily just jettisoned the body into space the second they lost the Reavers; if anything it would have been harder to tie to them. Hell they could have a crew member who is not Walsh do that mid chase.

Obviously it looks cool.

Why does everyone still use Cowboy Weapons?

Not everyone but more than a few characters.

Lever action shotguns, lever action rifles, the occasional peacemaker etc.

I get that lower tech worlds don't have the same manufacturing base but some of that gear would have been considered dated by the 90s (especially the lever action shotguns and peace makers). There is a reason almost no one brought repeating rifles to ww1 or ww2.

So what's the lore reason? It does seem easier to make an akm....

Don't get me wrong it does look cool.

He definitely has more in common with Jayne and usually gets along with him better; but I always got the sense that while he doesn't like Simon he respects what he did for River; the matter how hard it makes his life.

Wierdely enough the only times Malcolm was furious or digusted with Simon are in the pilot and I think he kinda understood he would have done the same in Simons shoes or he didnt hace the full info. Maybe Serenity although he was mad at everyone.

With Jayne I can recall a few times where Mal came down way harder; like his lewd comnents towards Kaylee in the pilot, Ariel, it does say something that when Simon drugged Jayne Mals reaction waa huh good idea . That and Simon has never tried to purchase a human with a rifle.

What do you guys think?

Obviously I don't want to be within three miles of the guy but I can't refuse clients.

He has a long history of causing courthouse fatalities; does this mean the company can/will cancel my life insurance?

Winter has come; our food supplies are wiped out; its -16 degrees out we're out of wood, everyone hasnt eaten in days, 2/3 people are bed bound from previous fights with anomalies; there are two dead colonists and several dead raiders in the yard. No one has the energy to cook so we just literally grab raw meat from bodies (animal and human).

Do you spend your precious energy

  1. Chop down wood to make a fire/get real food?

  2. Go hunting so we aren't resorting to cannibalism.

  3. Bury our own dead

  4. Just stay in bed and try and stay alive.

  5. Beat the one healthy person to death unprovoked out of frustration..

Guess who picked option 5?

I'm still recovering from loosing that manpower almost a year later.

My tenants: Female dominated, rituals, and sacred drugs (I considered cannibalism but I liked the idea of them being really good with plants and using hallucinogenic herbs to see the future).

Role playing rules:

  1. Psychic powers are developed at almost any cost.

  2. Men can voluntarily join; but men captured in battle will be used for rituals or enslaved. Men cannot have leadership positions.

  3. The main base basically looks like an abbey.

  4. Goats are sacred and cannot be killed.

Any other ideas? I'd love to get more than one psychic.
