Case on some sort of island?

Hi! I apologize for the vague title, but my mom and I were watching the ID channel tonight and remembered a case we had seen once. The details are foggy, but this is what we remember the most.

It was a case either featured on the ID channel or a YouTube podcast. It was definitely not an audio podcast because there were visuals. There was a person describing the place where the murder had happened and it was definitely unique. It’s probably not helpful, but I do remember a man being interviewed about the case by the show.

For some reason, we believe it was an island of some sort. It wasn’t tropical, but more like the Pacific Northwest. We can’t say it’s that for certain, but we remembered them showing some houses that seemed high off the ground. I don’t know if it had been on stilts, but maybe a garage underneath. I’m not sure if that’s common on the West Coast because I’m from New England. That’s why I’m a little unsure about it being the PNW.

We both clearly remember the people saying this island was only accessible by one bridge. Everyone would go in and out on that bridge.
Also, I remember that they said crime there was incredibly rare. That the only thing that had happened recently was a peeping Tom in the area.

(I’m sorry I can’t offer more, but this is all we remember and had watched this a few years ago. I really apologize if this seems all over the place 😂)

ETA: I’d say this case is more “recent.” The earliest possible time from the 90s, latest sometime in the 2010s. It is not the Peggy Sue Thomas case.

CVS not getting prescription order

I have a new prescription that has been sent to my local pharmacy four times. While three different people at my doctor have confirmed to have sent it, CVS doesn’t have anything. I’m just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this and if they’ve managed to fix it? I can understand it not going through once, but for CVS to not have it four times seems inconceivable.

What type of goat?

Hey everyone! I went to our local farm today to feed the goats and came across this guy! I asked the woman working his breed, but she was busy and clearly didn’t want to be bothered. I go here all the time and compared to the dwarf goats? He’s a (gentle) giant! The picture doesn’t even do it justice.

Issue with accepting money

Hi! I’m posting this for my dad - he’s having a bit of an issue with Venmo. He always pays his rent through Venmo with no issue. Today, his landlord called and told him that she never received the money. When she goes to accept the payment it says “Venmo page cannot be found.”

Yet, we can see that the money did leave his bank account. It never went into her bank account. We tested this with a family member too to see if she had any issues. She was able to accept the money without any problem. Any ideas to what’s going on?

Is this a wood roach?

Hi! For context, this was taken in Rhode Island. Okay, I posted in r/whatisthisbug and both people said it’s a nymph roach. I don’t doubt them, but my phone is also saying it’s a wood roach! There was only one, it ran across the floor and I got this picture of it. I turned the brilliance up, since it was a little hand to see. Is there no shot this is a wood roach? 😭

What is this?

I’m freaking out a bit - since I just saw this run across my floor. I know it has to be some type of roach. Yet, I’m not sure exactly what kind and looking it up has been a bit stressful. The last thing I want is to think there’s more than one in my house!

ETA: I’m in Rhode Island if that makes a difference on the type!

Alternative to Aquaphor?

Hi! I had been following the story about Ridgeland Farms and it broke my heart. I decided to make sure the products I’ve been using are cruelty free and the vast majority fall into the category! Yet, I found out Aquaphor is not cruelty free. This sucks, since it’s the only lip balm I’ve used that I have felt that truly works. I’m hoping to find a replacement and would appreciate recommendations! I’ve seen some stuff online, but I’d really appreciate if this stuff was in stores. Also, I use the repair stick because I hate anything like the tube. So, if there’s anything in a stick form that would also be great. Thank you!!! 🐰

Horror or mystery with this aesthetic…

Hey! I know this one is oddly specific, but I adored the “I Spy: Treasure Hunt” game growing up. I recently remembered it and was wondering if there was anything with this sort of setting or aesthetic. I know horror might be a long shot, so I’m open to mystery too!

Chronic digestion issues for years.

Hi everyone! I’ll be honest, I’m genuinely mortified I have to post this, but I need outside thoughts and perspectives.

Since 2023, I’ve been experiencing daily bouts of diarrhea. At first, I thought it was from anxiety because I was just about to graduate college and didn’t have a solid path for the future. I deal with anxiety and depression, so you can understand why my thought process went there at first. This went on for months, until I finally brought it up to my doctor. She suggested I cut out lactose and gluten, but there were no changes in my experience. I did a blood test too and she didn’t mention anything abnormal. Also, I brought it up to my psychiatric prescriber, but she said nothing I’m on would have these types of side effects.

Then, I finally got into a gastroenterologist last year. She was convinced it was because I wasn’t consuming enough fiber. I do take Metamucil daily, but thought I’d take her advice and added much more into my diet. She also said because I’m young she didn’t think a colonoscopy would be necessary. Anyway, I took her advice on the fiber and still nothing changed.

Now, I’m back to square one and still struggling. It’s impacted my daily life so much. I’m genuinely embarrassed I have to share this, but because I just got another appointment is there anything I should look out for or ask? This post ended up being much longer than I expected 😂

ETA: I wrote this post in the middle of the night, so there are a few things I forgot. I did get tested for celiac, but it came back negative. Also, I got my gallbladder checked and there was nothing wrong with it.

Weight fluctuating, is this to be expected?

Hi everyone! I’m a little over a month into my weight loss journey. I’m on 4.0mgs and up until recently everything was great! I had lost ten pounds and the side effects I started with finally stopped.

Yet, over the last week, I’ve been feeling really disheartened. I get on the scale every day and have been noticing my weight consistently fluctuates between gaining and losing 1.5! I know in the grand scheme of things it’s not a lot, but I’m sure many of you can understand my frustration. Especially, since I haven’t changed anything in my routine. I’m eating the same, drinking a ton of water and taking my pill as prescribed. It just seems I’ve hit a plateau. Is this to be expected? Is there anything I should be doing differently?

Cat Fountain Getting Moldy!

Hi everyone! Last year, I bought my cat a “GIOTOHUN” stainless steel fountain. She loves it, since she suddenly decided last year she’s no longer going to drink from her bowl. We’ve had no issues, until about a month ago. I noticed that when I’d go to clean the fountain it looked like little pieces of mold were floating in the water. I clean the fountain weekly, so I was really surprised by this, but I went ahead and cleaned it again. I had no issues, but I’ve noticed it’s happening more and more often lately. Obviously, I’m not letting her use it now, which she’s livid about and is now demanding to drink from the sink.

I cannot figure out where the mold is coming from because I clean it and even when I find the mold there’s no obvious signs of it! I’ve taken pieces apart, replaced the filter as instructed and even cleaned hard to reach spots with a q-tip. Any ideas where it’s coming from? (So the tiny dictator can stop waking us up at 5AM for a drink from the sink because her bowl is below her haha.)

Hers Refill Question

I’m curious, has anyone been able to refill their prescription sooner than the designated refill date? Right now, my refill date is scheduled for July 2nd, but
I’m going on vacation July 4th.
I requested the pills to be sent earlier, only because of shipping concerns. I know there’s no way they’d be here before I left for vacation, based on my last experience. They refused, saying I’d have to cancel and reactive when I’m ready. Yet, I don’t want to cancel! I just want everything to be on time. Customer service has been no help, any advice? I’ve had no issues EXCEPT with shipping 😵‍💫

ETA: I went to request a change in the app, but they’d only allow for me to change it to a week after the refill dose. Which, isn’t helpful because I need them sooner or I’d be out.
