What is this??

I always get this a day or two after shaving. It is insanely itchy. I use shaving cream and I’ve tried all kinds of razors. What can I do to not get this?

Haven’t made any friends…

I’m going to be a junior this year and haven’t made any friends. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong I guess I thought people would just come into my life. It has been so isolating on campus and I would go days without talking to anyone. What can I do differently this year?

Just took my first dose, any advice?

I hope this doesn’t get taken down for low effort, I’m just trying to find some advice from real people and not the internet. I’m looking for skincare advice, product recommendations, and maybe some things to expect that are less talked about online. My current skincare routine: AM: cerave foaming cleanser and beauty of joseon day dew sunscreen PM: Cerave foaming cleanser and la Roche posay double repair moisturizer. Any advice is much appreciated! I guess to ask a more specific question just to be sure, for those who have started their first course, when did your side effects first appear and what did your first month look like?

Should I just bite the bullet and go on Accutane?

I have had acne for almost a decade of my life (I’m 20 now). For that same amount of time I have had a consistent skincare routine. Nothing has ever been able to completely cure my acne and otc/prescription has only been able to reduce it. I have tried pretty much everything otc and oral antibiotics and am so frustrated. I have been on epiduo forte for around 10 weeks now, and while it has helped I am just so disappointed. Should I just go on Accutane?

Does this eyeliner look like it’s too much?

I don’t want to look like I’m going to the club or emo or something 😅

The box checking and hurdle jumping I am forced to do is ridiculous

I understand why it should be hard to get into medical school, but at this point I feel like I am just checking box after box and it's never enough. I am a rising junior with a 3.8 GPA who has done my best to get clinical experience. I have cold called countless doctors, and was only able to shadow one by the grace of god. I have contacted 40+ professors at my school about wanting to help with their research with a personalized email and resume attached sent to each to no avail. I have 200 hours of volunteer experience at a hospital over two summers but according to everyone that's the "bare minimum" and not sustained enough. The only paid clinical experience I could get was at home caregiving, and only for 120 hours because the company wouldn't give me any more. I can't afford a certification to be a CNA or EMT etc. and frankly don't have the time either. I am currently trying to do 8 hours a week to check off the box of non clinical volunteering because I figured it's better than nothing but people are saying those hours won't even make a difference. No matter what I am applying to med school next year but I am just sick of this process. No one in my family is a doctor and I feel like I am all on my own and it's never enough. During school I am a full time student and next semester will be studying for the MCAT as well. I am a member of a women in healthcare club on campus but leadership is so competitive to get into so I can't check the "leadership" box off either. I am currently volunteering, working 20 hours a week as a server, and studying for the MCAT but according to everyone I am just behind the curve so sometimes I feel like why am I even trying? I guess I just have to push through and try anyways and hope I get in with my awful fucking "bare minimum" stats next summer. Anyways, this was my rant. Maybe it was a little unhinged but I can't be the only one who is frustrated at the whole process. Just wanted to vent...

First day as a server, cop accused me of being on drugs…

So today was my first day as a server and I have no experience. I wanted to make a good impression and show my boss I am a hard worker. I was also naturally a little nervous and it was hot in there and ofc you need to move fast to get to your tables on time. This guy and his wife sit down and he’s like are you nervous and I explained everything. A little later on he asked me “are you on Adderall, I’m law enforcement” And I said no??? He was like your pupils are big. I then told him they’re genetically big and I’m near sighted they’re always like that. Then he said “it’s okay you’ll get a better job one day.” After all of that and making sure to apply a military discount, he tipped me $6 on a $100 bill. Is this a normal occurrence in server life???

Before Epiduo Forte vs After 8 Weeks. Feeling Frustrated

When will my skin finally get better? I feel like it’s the same as it was or worse. Would switching to tret maybe be a better choice or am I still purging? Any advice would be appreciated

Chances of getting into sc schools

I’m a sc resident. When I apply next summer I’m going to have a 3.8 gpa, at least 511 MCAT, 200 clinical volunteer hours at the hospital, 100 non clinical volunteering hours with habitat for humanity, 150+ paid clinical hours across two summers (caregiving), 200+ hours at waitress position, and two semesters of research around 12 hours per week. Currently have 36 hours shadowing a psychiatrist. Definitely getting 12 more hours shadowing in cath lab/cardiology and another 25 with primary care. Sorry this is a lot, any help would be very appreciated!

Minimum clinical experience?

I got 120 hours caregiving last summer and I just can’t do it again. The companies are so shady and I’m just uncomfortable having to do medical activities I’m not trained for. By the end of this summer I should have 200 hours volunteering at the hospital. Is 320 clinical hours enough? Or should I just bite the bullet and try and get another 100 hours caregiving?

How do I do Kaplan and anki at the same time????

My pace for Kaplan is one chapter a day and I’ve been trying to use the jack sparrow deck. I set my new cards to 30 and max reviews to 9999. The problem is that I am moving way faster in the Kaplan chapters and creating a massive backlog of cards from the older chapters. How in the hell do I sync the deck to the book??? Should I just read the whole review book and go back to anki. I feel like I’m spending more time trying to figure out how to study than actually studying. Please help!

Do I have naturally wavy hair?

This is my hair after air drying and sleeping on it all night with the only product I used being leave in conditioner. The other pic is right after brushing my hair. It always gets so poofy and frizzy I’m pretty sure I have 2a hair but maybe it only gets wavy from sleeping on it? What do y’all think?
