Belift might moving on from the conventional cb showcase format

First of all, I made this post just to share information. Please don't turn it into mismanagement olympic, snarky comparisson, etc. You can want better for Enhypen without resenting other group.

ILLIT only had comeback showcase once, it was for their 2nd EP (which was their first cb). For their next comebacks, they held offline fan events instead. The goal is same with cb showcase, it's just the format that is different.

  • 3rd EP: Friend's Night Picnic (performing on stage next to Han river, 400 fans, not live streamed)
  • 1st single album: Cuteness Graduation Party (a 1 hour fan talk, 300 fans, and live streamed)
  • 4th EP: Seoul Children's Grand Park Festival (it was festival, 2000 fans, not live streamed)

Belift still made a cb showcase for The Sin: Vanish (they called it "Fan Showcase" since R:U). They also had "Vampire is Coming in Seoul" event for 950 fans. It was a 1 hour fan talk with Enhypen and was announced few days after the album released. They also announced the collaboration with Korean Red Cross few days before TS:V released, and the blood donation started the day the album released.

We dont hear anything about fan showcase for TS:B so far. They might not have a showcase this cb. (Yes, i'm aware about the Japan showcase, but i was talking about showcase in Korea). There's obviously gonna be both negative and positive reactions. You might dont like that there's no livestreamed showcase like what they had for years. But not having cb showcase does not mean belift is neglecting Enhypen. It's just belift is moving on from the conventional cb showcase format. They still make event for the cb.

(Anyway my goal is just sharing information, dont come here and call me belift defender or smth)

Cortis' Juhoon and Tuide's Seah

Both of them were child models. The first time they worked in the same project was 2018 and the last was 2023. They have worked together several times through 2018-2023.

Congratulations to both of them!

(Tbf, there's several idols who were kid models that have worked with Juhoon, including Meovv's Ella, BDC's Yihyun, etc)

Photograph draco?

I want to read this fic again.

I don't really remember the plot. But I remember Harry approached Draco in a pub(?) and asking for photograph/picture. Then their relationship started developing from there. And they took photo every year? I'm not sure what's the major plot, I just remember those details.

Chitchat before the Jpn cb

Both Almond Chocolate and Sunday Morning are digital single, so belift don't make money from a physical sale of these songs release, yet both got a MV. I don't care how "cheap looking" (some people really said that) the concept photos or the MV of these two songs. Bcs frankly the fact that it got a MV at all alr a surprise for me. They didn't even do promotional activities for Sunday Morning. Yet the song got an MV.

Anyway, it's normal for companies to spend less on the Japan release than the Korean release. That being said, I think ILLIT's team still put more thought into it than how Enhypen's team handled their Japan release. I like this concept photo from their 1st Jpn single album, despite some people call it boring. Even if it was low budget, it's still look nice. And they got to collab with Care Bears for their Japan debut.

ILLIT's Japanese title track is also an original song, instead of the Japanese version of their Korean song. I like that. People might think that's not a big deal. But it is for me.

I alr love 'I Got Your Back' from the concert videos I watched, I can't wait for the release. Both concept photos for the cb are also stunning!

It's psychosis

Okay, I know stan twt is a crazy place. But I still want to talk about it.

That twt currently has more than 18k likes. Frankly, I think no one would notice that if they didn't point it out. Bcs the styling and aesthetic are so different.

That kind of reaction just bcs they're wearing the same shoes?? That's not normal. It's just shoes, it's not even customized shoes. Tokkis also went crazy bcs the director of nwjns' new videos have directed ILLIT's MV, once. They're accusing that it was ador/Hybe's way to damage nwjns brands, watering down their concept, etc.

Personally I think it's ridiculous getting mad over groups working with the same director or photographer. That's their job. They are not exclusively working with one group only. They're an outside contractor hired by the company for a project.

Back to the shoes. I'm not surprised they got mad over that. They went crazy over colors and hairstyles before, so this is not lower than those. It's still mind-boggling every time they show the pictures of two different styles, and the only thing that makes it similar are just the colors (often they also edit the colors). Like, getting upset over a basic color combination of pink, white, and black? Or bcs an all-white outfits? Bfr.

Nwjns' new creative director is Nayeon Kim, she has been working with them since debut. And their new style director is Choi Yumi, who has also been working with them since debut (as a freelance stylist). There are a lot of other names who have been working with them since nwjns' debut (but i think those two are the most important). But now since there's no MHJ, Tokkis suddenly say Nayeon Kim and Choi Yumi's work are suck.

Do you think they should have use "Misaki" instead of "Saki"?

A gg (Tuide) will debut under a new sublabel at Hybe. One member will debut under the name Saki (from Misaki). No info about her full name, so idk if it's her surname or given name.

Some fearnots are mad bcs Saki is Sakura's nickname. And it's related to LSF songs.

Anyway, wdyt?

What interview is this?

I think this one is a recent interview. Anyone have a link for the full interview and other members too?

They know people doubt their autonomy

Jungwon: "If i say this, could people start saying, 'He was told to say that' or smth like that? Right? These are my own thoughts, everyone. If that narrative actually spreads... wow. If ppl really start saying that, I'd think they're just trying to stir up drama among the fans."

They know how those people use "company made him do it" every time the members said smth they can't accept or don't want to believe. It's sad that people doubt the members have autonomy over their thoughts or words they said.

Even now people still believe someone made Jungwon said that. After months of begging for someone to address the problem. If you don't believe the members words, then whose words are you gonna believe atp?

Jungwon addressing the issue

Excerpt from Weverse live

Jungwon: "Because we haven't spoken about it directly until now, some people were saying things like we haven't properly addressed it, and they've been talking a lot about the number of members. Of course, while I can understand the hearts of those who loved ENHYPEN back then, now, yes, ENHYPEN is six members, everyone. Yes. ENHYPEN is six members.

Things like what you say at the concerts or the fan chants, I do understand that as well, because we haven't spoken about it clearly until now. I understand it, but seeing Engenes fighting each other because of things like that doesn't look good. To be honest, it also disrupts the performances a lot. Yes, really, honestly.

Since I've spoken about it clearly today, I think those who truly like ENHYPEN and support us will know how to act moving forward. Yes.

Ah, I'll just say this completely clearly. Because if I speak vaguely again, it might not work. From now on, saying things like 'ENHYPEN is 7' is basically telling Engenes to fight among themselves. Yes. Fighting among our fans nobody wants that. The company doesn't want it, Engenes obviously don't want it, and above all, the six of us do not want it.

So in the future, I am going to consider those who stir up or promote such disputes as not being fans. For me, too... Actually, I turned on this live specifically because of this, to talk about this. I came here to speak on behalf of the members. Yes, the other five members share the exact same thought.

So I hope you won't do that from now on. I really mean it. Yes."

Is this statement clear enough for people who keep demanding things from the members?

Regarding comeback showcase

Just smth that have been on my mind. Some fans been using "comeback showcase" as the sign(?) of whether ILLIT's cb is well promoted or not. ILLIT had a comeback showcase during I'll Like You era. And after that, every cb their team have been opting for comeback fan events instead.

  • Bomb: Friend's Night Picnic
  • NCA: Cuteness Graduation Party (this one was live streamed)
  • MMPTP: Seoul Children's Grand Park Festival

Those events kind of act as ILLIT's cb showcase, it's just mostly not live streamed.

Do you think that's a fair assessment or that it's true, that not holding & streaming comeback showcase is "not promoting ILLIT well" and negatively impact ILLIT?

ILLIT's backrooms aesthetic reference over their past albums

As someone who is not familiar with backrooms' different levels, this video is a big help for me.

From the comment section in the original post, there's backroom reference too in It's Me. It's backroom level 909, the last snow.

From Backrooms Wiki, "Upon entry into Level 909, one will find themselves in a location that appears as a home stylized in an atypical ancient Chinese fashion". That's why ILLIT are in Chinese restaurant.

I'm happy w/ Wonhee's show, but...

Don't get me wrong, i'm so happy that Wonhee got this opportunity of solo variety show on OTT platform. That's a big thing. But I still resent(?), that it's Coupang play. Bcs it's almost impossible for international fans to access it. And it's normal for Coupang play to not provide Engsub. So even if you watch the show through alternative web, it's still inconvenient bcs it has no Engsub. There's also hardly any video on TikTok or twt after the show aired. When usually Wonhee is everywhere after she became guest in a variety show. I want to watch it and understand what they're talking (generated sub is not enough).

Okay, that's all my rant.

Can't they choose another city?

After the mess that is 'Yet to Come in Busan' with Busan City govt, why BigHit chose Busan again for today's concert (+Festa celebration)? Can't they logistically held it in another major city in Korea?

Today's concert was a mess. According to army, Asiad Stadium is owned by Busan City and the management company is run by Busan City. BigHit pays a rental fee and Busan City management has to provide the venue staff. The mess today is clear that they're understaffed (maybe Busan City govt didn't hire enough staff bcs they want more profit, the 10% of the ticket sales revenue is not enough for them). And there's still tons of wrong things.

And the fcked up things is that the city govt always wash their hands and dump it on BTS, BigHit and Hybe to clean up their mess. If they make another one next year, I hope they try another city.

Heeseung debut single

I think it's likely that he'll release a single (or single album) first, then followed by a mini album. It's a normal route for Korean solo artists to debut with a single (or several singles), then a mini album.

Yes, he alr talked about mixtape for long time so it's possible that he has enough song to debut with a mini album. But marketing wise, companies usually release single first for solo artist for a lot of reasons. So, that's that.

Idk how they'll handle it, but releasing single is not a sabotage towards Heeseung.

Hybe doing anything but Hybe Game Caterers S2

I only stan 3 groups from Hybe (2 bgs and ILLIT). But I like Game Caterers in general, so I have been wanting a Hybe GC S2, esp after Starship have their own S2.

It's too many if all Hybe groups participated (and I don't want to see X group near ILLIT). And honestly I prefer where all members in a group attend, instead of only 2 or 4. So, I hope Hybe do Game Caterers S2 with only 5th gen groups. From Boynextdoor to Cortis, it's alr 22 people. If the rumor of Hybe subsidiary's new gg have 6 members is true, then that's alr 28 people from Hybe Korea. I don't care if they add Hybe groups from other countries or not. I just want a S2 with Hybe 5th gen groups.
