Bow Identification

A lovely friend of mine gifted me a violin and this bow was in the case. Can anyone help me figure out what the stamp says on the side?

I added a picture of the violin itself so yall can see the weird fingerboard and mechanical pegs too. Thanks in advance for any info you guys have.

Update: Bow is labeled Czechoslovakia

Childhood Wish Fulfillment

I only got the four last night ($7.50 each?!?!?!) since they didn't have the Pterodactyl (I've only seen a single one in my Walmart since they came out). I know it's not much but I've been wanting these for about 30 years now, I don't think I'll start a massive collection but it's nice to at least be in the Cool Kids Club finally!

Anywhere to read it online en español?

I'm working on improving my Spanish vocabulary and reading skills so, I know this may be a more general manga question, but does anyone know where I could read it in Spanish online?

The Final Log-off of a Coworker

They say there's four deaths: brain, cellular, full body destruction, and the last time someone remembers you.

Sitting in the office next to me is a special, fifth one for us IT folks, the final log-off. A coworker of mine passed in his sleep a while back, but no one has turned his computer off yet, signed his account out for the final time. I don't feel like I knew him well enough to have that honor.

Sometimes the final sign off in a system is a joyous occasion, someone going to retirement or just a better paying job. Sometimes it's temporary, like when you know a summer intern will be back next year.

We don't all need to have besties at work, to "be a family", but I think we should all aspire to be someone who, when it is time for our final log out, whoever does it for us feels a bit honored to do so.

Edit: while I appreciate (genuinely in this case) whoever sent Reddit Cares, I'm ok. Even though I'm dealing with loss right now, this is actually one of the best times in my life. I may be sad but I am, fortunately, not depressed or anywhere near a danger to myself or others.

Whose eggs are these?

North Shore, Massachusetts. I found these eggs on a strip of lawn. Not even sure if bird or reptile. Does anyone know what might have laid them, and should I leave them be?

Help a viola out?

Hello R/Bass! I'm helping a friend of mine with adding, effectively, a bass level behind his guitar strumming on a song. I'd say "bass line" but I'm bowing, not picking or strumming, and it's not going to be funky lol.

Unfortunately, I am more versed in normal music theory than guitar chord music theory and they're not *quite* the same.

Chord progression for the first few lines is

> G - - - D - - -

> E - D - C - - -

I don't know of a key that has all of those together except C of course so even if I wanted to just play the root note behind all that, I'm not even sure what that is.

What would y'all play? Any ideas are appreciated, I'm not posting the whole song since I'm not asking y'all to write this part for me, just asking for some ideas/pointers to get me going in the right direction.

Thanks,

An Aspirational Bass Player (yeah, I do want to get an actual bass one day)

Cicada with fungal infection?

I don't think I've seen this in person before so I wanted to confirm via y'all bug nerds, this is that fungal infection that kills the abdomen of the cicada right?

[SE Texas] Some sort of Garter snake?

Saw this little noodle (is 2ft-ish still "little"?) on a walk and was wondering if it was some sort of garter snake or not.

Thanks!

I would recommend "The Octonauts & the Frown Fish" to anyone needing to explain the idiom "turn that frown upside down" to someone

Seriously, if anyone doesn't understand "turn that frown upside down" read them this book. The whole climax of the story centers around it.

90's EDM/TECHNO song

!!!SOLVED!!!

"The Bomb (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind)" by The Bucketheads

I've been googling but as I'm sure y'all are all aware, it's gone to shit in the last like decade.

This should be an easy one for y'all though, it's a 90's techno or EDM song where there's a woman singing something that sounds like "peace love groove in the ni~I~i~I~ight". Most or all of those words are almost 100% wrong including night.

TIA

Hey guys, I'm a dad to a 13yo who loves watching guys like Low-Buck Garage, Styropyro, Alan Pan, etc on YouTube. He's going to be a gear head and/or engineer in the future I'm pretty sure lol. I'm not completely ignorant of ic engines and automotive stuff but beyond basic stuff like checking my oil, changing a tire etc, it's just not a place I've got much experience.

I'm coming to you guys in here because I'm hoping this could be where I help him get his start. I've got a bike that's in good shape (I think this chain's a bit rusty and seat needs to be replaced but all the rest seems good) but otherwise I am in the "I don't know what I don't know" square 0.

Can y'all give me recommendations for YT channels that do tutorials, brand/gear reviews, what tools I'll need to get him (besides the basic Phillips/flathead screwdrivers and crescent wrenches since we have those), etc. This is all for his birthday in Nov, just trying to get started now so I have a rough idea how much I'll need to save up and have time for shipping etc.

Thanks!
