Is a Sim possible in my basement?

Have been thinking about adding a Sim to improve my game over the winter months here in Toronto.

Thought I could fit a Sim in my basement, but looking a bit tight now. I could break out a 10x10 space for it (no wall behind me but could push a table out). Then was looking at a Skytrack or Square Omni with an 8x8 or possibly 8x10 enclosure with screen.

Issue is ceiling height. It’s about 8’8”. I’m 5’11” and with a driver I’m basically an inch or so from the ceiling. So I’m assuming no driver in this scenario?

Wish I had thought of a golf sim before I finished my basement or put a mezzanine in my garage!

KEF Ci200.2CR vs CI200ER for whole home/ambient music

Looking to replace 8 Proficient c850 8" in ceiling speakers with something that disperses sound better and also has magnetic low profile grills. Will be used with Sonos Connect amps (or WiiM if I ever change over), so say 60 watts per channel.

Has anyone heard both of these and can comment how big of a differnece there is in sound? Seems the main diff is a much larger tweeter (1" vs 0.6") and "Tangerine Waveguide" in the CR version.

But at CAD$300/pair vs $500 each, it's quite the diff in price!

Complete Reddit Imperfection

133 degrees. A bit over done in some areas. Underdone in others.

Tasted great!

Some short rib..

First short rib on the kettle. About 4 hours at 350 ish. Wasn’t bad. Not as tender as I would’ve preferred but tasted great.

Already salt brining a tomahawk for tomorrow.

Radicchio

The radicchio I planted (apparently too close together!) is starting to grow wide vs into a ball.

Just curious, should I be cutting the lower sprawling leaves all the way back but leaving the middle?

Not sure what the best way to harvest this stuff is!

Getting baby raccoons to leave

So I have a concrete block waterfall wall in my backyard that had a hole in it and a raccoon must have brought its babies into the hole. I blocked the hole last night with 2x4s but can hear the baby raccoons screeching this morning so they’re still in there. Actually saw what I assume was the mother crossing the street this morning when I got back to my house oddly enough.

If I reopen the hole will they simply leave or am I looking at hundreds of dollars to get them professionally removed?

Was quoted $400 by a trapper.

Is landscaping fabric okay for the trees?

Wanted to put river rock across the back of my pool along with landscaping fabric to keep the weeds at bay. Have cut out holes around the trunks for better drainage.

Is this okay for the trees and will the soil still get enough nutrients?

Simple NY Reverse Sear

1.5” NY Strip. Slow cooked on the kettle to 115f, then seared with butter, garlic and rosemary on a SS pan.

Tasted great.

Bistecca alla Fiorentina

126 degrees. Not bad. Some grey banding as I didn’t put enough charcoal for a quick sear.

Overall quite tasty. Though the Weber charcoal sure gives a lot more smoke than Red Devil.

Sous Vide French Veal Chops Aluminum on Bone?

So I bought some nice veal chops which were already vac packed. They wrapped the bone in foil I guess for folks who are bbq’ing them.

Any issue if I sous vide from frozen and leave the aluminum on it or is that a health hazard?

Looking for a home unit in Canada. Usage probably a few times a year as I have an electric one for car/small jobs. This one will be used with a small 14-15” surface cleaner for flagstone and interlocking (upwards of 4,000 sqft).

Ideally around $500CAD. Narrowed it down to these two from Costco. One is a Powerease engine, the other Kohler and an adjustable nozzle head. Honda based units start at $800+ here.

Thoughts?

So when I am typing up an email say to a work colleague who maybe I had emailed before they joined as part of the interview process, Outlook seems to continually "select" the personal email address as the first one in the selections which I tend to quickly "tab through" without realizing it was their personal address.

Could swear historically there was an "x" where when the list of recent addresses came up, I could delete ones I didn't want it to default to.

But can't seem to do that now. Is there a way to remove specific email address suggestions?
