My beauty, The Baron

…from his ‘gotcha day’ to now. A true gentleman; dignified, sweeter to us than we could ever deserve. A giant floof who’s reserved, yet sure to come through when someone’s in need of a warm hug. Our version of Olaf. My son says ‘Nebelung,’ though he came home with us a shelter cat after not flinching at all while our then little boy hauled him around, begging to practice ‘picking one up.’ He was the calmest of all. If you’re lucky, every now and again he’ll reveal his only patch of white: a perfectly-placed pair of fur tighty-whities. 🤍 Gosh, I love him so

Our now senior, diabetic, but still forever kitten

This lil knucklehead long-ago stray has been bringing the love and the ‘calico-crazy’ since we allowed her across the threshold of our hearts and home 12 years ago

Former feral (now ear-tipped General Snow) lived on a family member’s house for his first four years, and got to keep his ‘Tom cheeks’ (oh, and his puffy round big feeters 🐾)

Black Frame and Lucky: an incredible pair

It’s said that “luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” For me, meeting Lucky meant opportunity when the BF sale met 6.18 😉

Full disclosure, aside from one happy RH, until this month, I had never knowingly purchased a non-auth designer bag. I’ve been through one aborted rep purchase last spring, when an undisclosed seller gave me excuse after excuse for several months, and pretty much fully ghosted after receiving my cash, so expectations were pretty low going into this transaction. The stars (or ‘sales’) aligned, and I felt brave enough to try again to buy that desired bag with the refund I’d fought for and eventually received. This site posted a 6.18 sale, and Lucky was encouraging and reliable with communication and details, which gave me confidence to try again. His responsiveness and kind demeanor put me at ease, straight away

Specs: Seller extraordinaire was Lucky, (WA # ending 4964)

Factory: Black Frame

  1. Pr@d@ Dada small cloud bag, sky blue
  2. 1230 - 10% off sale = 1107 CNY

This one is soft like a dumpling, and the color so sublime I can’t stop staring at it, kind of like I’m looking through clouds ☁️. Definitively, I did not need this bag. I just *wanted* it. I put it in, took it out, put it in, and took it out of my mental cart maybe 20 times. I’m so glad I splurged. I love it so

  1. SL Jamie crossbody shoulder bag (26cm), black
    1380 - 10% sale = 1242 CNY

Can someone have too many black bags? This is a newer style Jamie that I prefer. It has only one strap and is worn more like a purse than the traditional double-handled “lucky” or “bucket” totes. Lambskin luxury, beautifully stitched, substantial hardware weight, and a good fit if one is petite like me. I own real YSLs and have already carried this out to the same normal places, head held high. The little guy made my car smell like new fresh leather, for the win

  1. SL Loulou small (29cm) cloud puffer, white aka ‘crema soft’
    1480 - 10% off sale = 1332 CNY

The fluffy, puffy, cloud white puffer is so comforting, I just want to curl up on it and sleep before it gets used and dirty, if you know what I mean. Even its color name includes the word “soft.” I think I was shopping with insomnia, because this haul seems to have a theme! Gorgeous, supple lambskin, the right amount of ‘squoosh,’ it’s flawlessly made. Thank you, BF. You’re the business

Factory: Jing

  1. BV Jodie teen, taupe suede
    1290 CNY

Lucky worked his 🍑 off for me on this one. Suede looks so different in different light, and since I couldn’t see the colors in person, I was deeply torn between three different shades. He showed me factory pics, actual pics, historical photos of people wearing the bag in public spaces, and took my specs indoors and out to confirm I liked the taupe. I’m so glad I trusted his eye. The suede is divine and, straight out of the box, it’s already sagging like I’ve tumbled it dry. Casual yet lush, I can already tell this one may never get comfortable in a dust bag

Timeline: 1st contact 6/3, purchase 6/6, PSPs 6/11, shipping began 6/12 *insert dragon boat festival here*, received 6/23 & 6/25 (order separated into two boxes)

Shipping four bags to USA: $95

So, there’s my long-winded review of this satisfyingly Lucky transaction. I was not incentivized to write, not at all; but good quality and service deserves support. Side note, because this has come up before, please do copy and paste all of my text and run it through an AI content detector. You can find one free online. This will serve to validate that I am 100% human, and my review is authentically written and coming from me. Tbh, I’m gun-shy to review after getting flamed on other sites by users who don’t take the time to actually check. Being with a community is what’s fun for me, so I’m happy to answer other questions! Thanks for reading 😊

Vinko is TS across the board for a reason

In purchasing an authentic Vintage Alhambra piece, I came across this two butterfly necklace that immediately struck me as symbolizing some personally significant events. Its cheerful simplicity took my breath away. Over the period of a year, I visited several VCA storefronts in various cities traveled, including Manhattan and Paris flagships—wherein SAs expressed to me their lack of stock, but willingness to order at $12,100 retail to have a peek. The VCA SA in my own town chuckled when I first requested to see a turquoise two butterfly pendant, “You know what a difficult thing you are asking for, right?” Available merchandise is so limited.

Then I found the forums, and all of you, and the vetted sellers of Reddit with such shiny and beautiful things. I had to try. Approaching the task with the ferocity of a researcher, I chose Vinko for this first, very special, trial piece.

Timeline:
5/17 New contact and immediate response. Questions answered
5/20 Initial deposit
6/4 PSPs, final balance paid
6/12 Arrival. The butterfly has landed. It is exquisite

Specs:
6g of 18k YG, lab diamonds, synthetic turquoise

All options were selected after Vinko and I discussed my preference for not removing jewelry through daily exercise, showers, indiscriminate fragrance applications, sleep, entanglement with stacked other necklaces, sloppy mom-life, etc. He was kind and explained how “natural turquoise oxidizes over time”

$1100 including shipping and insurance

This stuff glides into addiction. I have no illusions now. With 10/10 credit for impeccable professionalism, selection, service and delivery from Vinko, more to follow as I abuse the wallet soon

Delivery from Gilbert lives up to its Sparkle✨

I’ve caught some recent posts asking for feedback re: Gilbert; though I strongly suspected my review would be positive from our delightful interactions thus far, I waited to comment until the little haul I created with him arrived on our doorstep last week.

I ordered and paid on 5/21 (he accepts PayPal!), and received everything meticulously packaged on 6/9. For my photos, gift items remain packaged to not ruin the joy of first opening for my mom.

Prices are strikingly affordable for these very cute pieces, ranging a mere $28–$48 each. As someone who has bought auth new and used, I firmly believe in taking a test run with an item before committing to the bigger purchase. Tastes and trends do change. I’ve also learned to slow myself down and have a big breath before pulling the trigger on more extravagantly priced pieces. With age, one finds wisdom prevailing over budget.

To recap, I first ‘met’ Gilbert when he instantaneously responded to my casual inquiry that, due to his kindness, led into hours together teasing out seven lovely VCA pieces. Many recent and specialty models are offered in his album. Throughout, Gilbert’s communication was impeccable, his humor bright; he offered warm support in selecting a pretty set for my mother’s upcoming special birthday. He was gracious with his time and experience, sharing when an item combination was a bit brassy or seemingly less authentic to his eye, and what would be better reflected in real life. I’d hope for this attentiveness when dropping sums of money with more 0’s behind them, but Gilbert gave this customer service despite the smaller nature of my buy. From ordering to invoicing and shipping inquiries down the road, he was professional through and through. In short, he’s a gem of a human. It’s a distinction greater than that of ‘TS,’ to be sure—which made me eager to offer this *sparkling* review!

A milestone few others in my ‘normal life’ might understand

I am ‘fitter over fifty,’ and hit my five year anniversary (7 days a week, sickness or health, 5 full years and counting) streak yesterday! Words can’t capture how this bike has improved my life. Like many of you, I’ve ridden through pandemic adaptation, loss and grief, retirement angst, perimenopause, multiple Netflix series, the ups and downs of raising a teenager, achievement highs, plateaus, and recent unrelated injuries. I believe, overall, the platform’s biggest impact may be found in mental health. No one can accurately state that this bike “doesn’t go anywhere.” Cheers to the community! Thank you for forming a peloton to keep us all stable and strong ❤️
