Why does Germany choose to use the Euro?

Not European so I’m probably not that knowledgeable. I was just wondering since some countries seem to have their own currencies and I understand that the German economy is one of the most powerful ones in Europe

Romania / Albania / others(?)

I’m (21F) from southeast asia and will be doing an exchange in austria for the winter semester.

Towards the end of the semester (appx early-mid february 2027) i’m planning to visit eastern europe for about a week. I have never been to this region in europe and would love love love to see and learn more about it.

I’m open to any suggestions on your “favorite” countries to see in eastern europe!

Therefore, please enlighten me on these topics:

\- Coast sides: I would prioritize to see coast sides. I come from an archipelagic state but europe coast sides with its own style of infrastructure is extremely beautiful to me.

\- Historical: I love learning about places that have significant influences on a regional / global history and geopolitics. A place with many of these things + good museums to visit would be a plus point!!

\- Warmth: Haahaha dont come for meee! I know that it will be winter. But i would love just a tolerable winter.. the warmer the better for mee

\- Affordability: Would imagine to not “have much left” after the semester, so perhaps take friendly costs into your considerations for suggestion. Also, I would be flying from around Munich to the destination, so I would consider flight ticket prices.

- “Safety”: All places could be equally both safe and unsafe. I understand this from past solo travels. Though, for sure some places are less catering to certain genders, races, age and would tend to take more advantage of these vulnerabilities. I just wanna vibe bro

Thank you!❤️

Slide 3 — Silent Disco Run Rabu 22 Juli

Have you ever ditched your dream job for a more realistic one?

Hello everyone!

I, (F21) am a final year law student. Throughout my studies, I had several researching jobs + one internship in international law (whether it'd be criminal law, human rights law, business law). I love learning international law, but more precisely, the branches of it that hones to marginalized communities--basically the jobs that pays close to nothing.

However, I didn't come from a rich family. Trying to have a career in international law is like trying to find a treasure at a random beach these days. It's filled with many, many unpaid internships and geographical luck.

I have had two internships in corporate law. A consultancy firm and an arbitration law firm. Both paid well but made me want to die. And the greed and "immoral-ness" they talk about is real. This is why they say 50% of hell is made up of lawyers. Hahahhahaa

But corporate law is (arguably) much easier to get into and you have direct significant remuneration.

This has been my dilemma for a couple years now and I was wondering if anyone ever had to make a similar decision, idealism vs being realistic when they were a younger.

Traveling made me kinder

I don't reckon I was a horrible person, but just pretty individualistic. For instance, previously, I would just monotone-ly and really shortly give answers to strangers in my city who ask for directions.

But after doing a few solo travels, and living in 4 different countries, it made me more sympathetic, more observant, more open.

This is because I now understand how intimidating it is to be in a vulnerable position in a place you're not familiar with and a language you don't speak.

I have been helped and welcomed warmly with so many locals when I am abroad, and now I always go out my way to give the same energy back to foreigners in my country, and making sure they feel safe and welcomed.

Discussions on xenophobia now sounds extremely illogical as ever to me, since after visiting many museums and learning about cultures around the world, i realized how similar we all are

Have you had enlightening experiences like these?

are you aware the similarities kazakhstan have with indonesia?

Picture: The Indonesian President, Prabowo on the most left, and President Tokayev on the most right.

For starters we're both situated in a pretty comfortable (neutral) spot between Russia & China. Few countries have that. And our economy has big potential, with our size and the demographic of young people.

Second, we're both largely Muslim based, though I understand KZ has it more "subtle"

Third, our passport is exactly in the same rank, 62nd as per Passport Index 2025.

Finally, both our presidents have travelled quite a lot last year on international trips. Almost the most in the world (need verification)

And,,, we both love corruption! Hahahhaa

So are you aware of Indonesia?

Where do I find Austria Notary

Hello I'm non EU,
Doing an exchange in Innsbruck and will use "Haftungserklärung" to proof financial funds through my siblings who reside in German.

This is permitted and much easier than opening a block account or etc. There is this requirement though in the Haftungserklärung:
"Hinweise:

My siblings speak fluent German, currently working there for about 8 years now, and yes, they do have the sufficient funds needed.

Q:

  1. Does anyone know if this can be done through online? Most jurisdictions can.
  2. If yes, how and where? (documents needed, cost, time needed, etc)
  3. If no, how and where?

Thanks so much guys have a lovely day <3

Indo people are doomed to death by its own stupidity

I hate indo gov for numerous reasons that u hate them for too.

Contoh: a) rupiah lemah REKOR sepanjang masa (not true, inflasi di thn 1998 itu ngebuat 1 dolar jadi 86rb kalo dimasa skrg) b) prabowo sering ke luar negeri (i wish people learned more about the diplomatic influence a head of state needs to do to have an international standing) c) Demo sering ngehighlight revolusi (apakah orang-orang tau dampak dari negara yang sedang kena revolusi separah apa?) d) Prodi ditutup.

Pernah bekerja utk pemerintahan (hated their work ethic and gaakan lagi) tp para pemerintah ini juga benci dengan kritikan "konyol" dan menurut saya ga akan tergubris dengan kritikan rakyat indonesia krn bagi mereka ga spot on (due to the lack of critical thinking in the first place)

Jadi lingkarang setan aja ini. Rakyat makin benci pemerintah. Wdyt?

academic opportunities for exchange students at UIBK?

hi everyone! im an incoming exchange (bachelors) student from southeast asia to university of innsbruck for the winter semester. ill be taking classes from the faculty of law.

this opportunity is not cheap. hence, i want to make it extremely worth it by participating in "academic stuffs" outside of classes, ie. conferences / competitions. i have numerous experiences on an international level for researching / competitions beforehand.

what is the best way to do this? is it possible to reach out to the lecturers for such opportunities?
