I’ve always been curious about what happens when you get a write up. I see “no disciplinary action” at the bottom of my occurrence page, but i’m curious what sort of punishment i’d get. Does anyone know? I assume it probably depends on what your occurrences are for?

I’m embarrassed/nervous to talk to my supervisor about this so wanted to ask other employees first.

Does home depot generally offer accommodations for mental disorders?

I have bipolar disorder which often involves psychosis (visual/auditory hallucinations and delusions) and i have 3.5 occurrences from calling out/leaving early to address these privately.

On top of the psychosis I have severe mood swings that very regularly impair my ability to work properly and safely. For example in very low depressive episodes I seem to be unable to focus or complete projects in a timely manner/at all. Or I get very high paranoia/delusions like the customers are going to genuinely hurt me and I end up hiding which is obviously an issue. Also on rare occasion have panic attacks. On days I feel like that it’s absolutely best I just don’t come in.

I don’t know how my supervisor will react to this information, but I’m starting to decline mentally due to no breaks from work when I absolutely need it for my own health and safety and I think it’s time to ask for help.

I just fear that my supervisor will think im abusing the accommodation just to be lazy and not come in but I had the same ones in school that greatly improved my grades and overall success.

I adopted an adult cat a little over a month ago, she’s very friendly and playful and she has had access to the rest of the house for a while now, but chooses to stay in her bedroom. Her litter box and food are in that room which i think plays the biggest role in why she stays in there. She will come out around 8:00 at night to meow for dinner and also scratch my rug. It’s the ONE thing in the house she absolutely cannot scratch because it’s a family heirloom 😭 she has scratching posts which she does use but i can’t get her to stop scratching the rug, i’ll see her doing it and go “Oooohhh..” and she runs back to the room.

I’m thinking of moving her litter box and food out, and rolling up the rug so i can stop accidentally scaring her away when she’s having fun in the living room, for obvious reasons doesn’t know that the rug is important, she probably just thinks i’m being mean to her. 🥲 Have never had a cat that scratched the floor so was unprepared for this lol

Her toys are also in the living room now, does anyone have any other ideas on how to encourage her to come out more? I work 5am shifts and can’t be up late to visit/play with her when she comes out so i’d like to see her in the day more, but in the rest of the house so i don’t have to stop everything im doing (cleaning, house projects, etc) just to see her.

(Extra details, house is quiet all day and low traffic, she has plenty of hiding places in the rest of the house as well as places to sleep/relax, and i give her treats when she does come out)

Does anyone else regularly deal with stress induced psychosis? I’ve been in a rough patch for a few years now, cycling between huge arguments with my family, problems with work, stress of living on my own, etc.

Sometimes at work, i’ll get so stressed out my brain convinces me that the customers are plotting against me to kill me or harm me, and i do ridiculous things like hide from customers like my life depends on it.

After big arguments, that’s when the visual hallucinations start. For example, In the past i had gotten into an argument and drove off really fast into the middle of the desert at night and thought there were like 50 men coming to my car and that my car was surrounded by angry dogs. I was horrified, and called everyone for help about 100 times and nobody answered. I eventually got home and tore all of the photos with faces off of my wall and turned all of my stuffed animals away because the faces were moving and staring at me. I cried myself to sleep.

I don’t know that much about bipolar, i just know my experience, so i want to see if anyone else experiences things like this fairly often.

I’ve taken antipsychotics in the past but they all gave me the involuntary movement side effect like i had tourette’s syndrome and it was just too embarrassing and hard to handle. I haven’t found any that work well enough to make it worth it.

In high school i was almost never there because my mental health was too much to handle, i’d often end up just having a full melt down instead of being able to work at all. Now that im an adult the same thing happens at work, and im about to get fired for it. They told me if i call out one more time im done. I don’t know what to do. Even if i have to leave work early due to said freak out, im fired. I cannot control my mental state at ALL. Now that i know what’ll happen if i have to leave too im even more on edge.

Does anyone have any tips on how to just stay stable throughout the day? I stopped taking my medication because i cannot perform my job functions with them (heavy machinery) and i was doing okay but now im not. If i start them again i cannot work. I can’t lose my job. I have not disclosed with my manager about my bipolar due to fear of discrimination.

I’ve had cats before, but i got them all as stray kittens. Now, I live on my own and I chose to adopt an adult to avoid the dinosaur phase. I have a very sweet loving cat, she loves being pet, is never aggressive or mean, and just overall pretty good.

My problem, I’m trying to bond with her but all things online say positive reinforcement via treats or play, but she doesn’t want either. She seems to just lazy around her room.

How can I bond with her if the only thing she likes is being pet? I want her to eventually approach me herself but currently she just waits for me to come to her. I pet her all she wants (which seems to be infinitely) but I just don’t think it’s going to get her out of her shell.

I only brought her home about 4 days ago, so I know it’s very early on in the process but I am really at a loss of what I can do with her. She has her own room with places to lay, her necessities, no super bright lights, quiet, and plenty of alone time for her to decompress.

TLDR: My cat only likes being pet and food or toys don’t motivate her, and i’d like her to connect with me somehow other than petting but I’m not sure what to try.
