CRAYONS!

CRAYON BOX! Crayons TBD.

No glue needed which I'm really happy about.

If you dont have the lid on, it's great for real markers/pencils.

i accidentally taped part of the lid before taking a picture but both those sides are the same.

You could probably make the lid with some kind of hinge and avoid the awkward sides all together but I'm not that talented yet.

This one is with special thanks to my boyfriend for figuring out how to make the chevrons go up the side of the box correctly. He also helped with designing the back.

I learned a ton about making a 3D piece with this one. I tried making a 3D animal once before and it was horrible and had to be cut and glued into working.

EDIT: it fits 10 crayons https://imgur.com/a/GT3n0LJ

-meat

-tomato
-lettuce
-pickles
-top bun

making a sandwich

based on this tiktok https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8GYPeVd/ except i don't have any circular boards.

i think i might edit my ugly tomato (wasn't looking at the creator's pattern too closely since again square boards), and of course add lettuce and finish the meat.

anything else that could/should be in my sandwich? other suggestions in general? i love the sould of melted flat perler projects slapping together, which is why i was inspired by this sandwich project. i thought to add pickles but they wouldn't give ~the experience~ i'm looking for if that makes sense.

EDIT: fixed the tomato and finished meat before work. still need to add lettuce! i might add pickles and an egg, looking for more food suggestions :) https://imgur.com/a/BtSlZ0g

Doctor refused to see me without AI

Just venting. Not really seeking advice but I'm not opposed to it either. I'd like seeing other people's opinions and experiences. I'm not going to change my mind about AI though.

Went to the doctor to get my guanfacine refilled. My old doctor left the clinic so I had to see a new doctor today. The vibes were off the begin with since the staff treated me like a 100% new patient but oh well, that's protocol.

The doctor came in and the doctor said hello and then said "before we begin, I just need to get your consent to use AI transcription and assistance apps on my phone."

I said "no."

The doctor looked shocked and asked if it was a privacy issue. I said yes, it is a privacy issue as well as I don't believe in the use of AI, it makes things up as well as is terrible for the environment.

He said that he can't work without the use of his AI apps because "I have to see 24 patients in a day" and "if I can't use the AI it makes my job much harder."

I asked him, "what did you do before Covid?" and he said "I struggled!"

I told him that if me not consenting to AI use is a burder for him then I will need a new doctor, and I got up and walked out of the room.

The doctor started following me down the hallway and told me that I need to tell the front desk that I cancelled my appointment. I told him I will not be doing that because I am not canceling my appointment, I am being refused to be seen.

I told the front desk, with the doctor behind me, that I need a new doctor. The receptionist asked why and I told her that the doctor won't see me without using AI and I don't consent to AI so he won't see me, to which the doctor stated "that's not true!"

Luckily the receptionist said "okay doctor" so he walked away and then the receptionist notated my side.

I'm really proud of myself for not getting upset or emotional about it. I stayed calm.

EDIT: There's way too many comments to reply to individually, but, the question was not just consent for AI transcription (which I wouldn't agree with either. Use non-generative text to speech). It was for AI transcription *and assistance* which is definitely a no-no. The only difference between me and a "doctor" at that point is the legal right to prescribe medicine; and even then, my research would be from actual sources and not the planet-killing hallucinations and misinformation machine.

I do believe the doctor refused to see me since he said he can't do his job without AI and I won't consent to AI. It wasn't an outright refusal, correct, but it was essentially a refusal if he couldn't coerce me to agree.

It is a rural clinic too; there's at least a few doctors there, so hopefully my next one won't use AI or else will respect a "no." For a myriad of reasons I don't get along with doctors (or anyone) who can't take "no" for an answer after they ask me for consent for something I don't want and have articulated I don't want.

Froggy eye surgery

I thought that the whites around their eyes were a little uncanny and so I painted them. They're not 100% perfect since even my smallest brush was a little big for their eyes. I think they fit in with the others a little better now.

What do we do with the orphans?

I'm just getting back into Sylvanians after not having played with them since I was in college, and after sorting through my collection, I realized that I have a few infants that are technically homeless orphans.

I notice that Sylvanians have a lot of babies now for sale from blind bags etc., so other collectors must have a lot of orphans as well.

In your collections, are you holding them all in an orphanage, or is it more of a foster family situation? Or are they like Victorian street children allowed to scavenge and roam as they please?

This is a serious question because I am going to build a bookshelf for my Sylvanians and I am trying to figure out the level of social services I'm going to have in my New Sylvania.

911 calls and victims families

Sorry if this is not an intelligent question. I tried to find the answer but I could not.

I'm talking about 911 phone calls that originated from inside the towers.

In the case of Melissa Doi's phone call, for example, it was used in the Moussaoui trial and was released to the public redacted per her family's request.

I know there's also some 911 phone calls that were used in the trial that were never released per family request.

Obviously not all calls from the towers were preserved since calls from victims to families would not have been recorded, however, 911 records all calls to my knowledge.

Were all 9/11 victims 911 calls used in the trial, or only a select few?

If not all 911 calls were used in the trial, were they made available to the families? Or are they part of the documents that are held by the government as unreleasable? I know we have some knowledge of what is in those documents, I know that it has been confirmed that there are photos of the plaza during the attacks in the documents.

Was there ever an effort in the aftermath to distribute call recordings to families, or did the families such as that of Melissa have to seek them out specifically, or was it just fate that the only ones that got recordings of their loved ones given to them was those that had recordings that were used in trial?

Anybody on Guanfacine? Effects not lasting 24hrs?

I don't know if I'm crazy or not, or if maybe I just need to wait it out. I'm not asking for medical advice I'm asking for other people's experiences so I know what to talk to my own dr about

I've been slowly having my Guanfacine dose increased over the lsst month or so. On Tuesday I just got my dose increased to 3 mg.

My Dr said that it's supposed to last 24 hours. I notice that it's working really well for the first 6 or so hours then drops off as if I'm unmediated after that. I take it around 7-7:30 in the morning and then it seems like after lunch around 1 or 2 it's not working anymore.

The end of my work days these past few days have been horrible since it started off good then dipped completely.

How is something that's a 24 hour release not working right? I don't want to seem stupid asking the dr so I thought I'd get everyone's opinion first. Do I just need to maybe wait and see if it'll stop doing it on it's own, or?

Watering down the soap

Drives me up the wall when the soap gets to the end and people decide to water it down instead of replacing it.

When you do that, first of all the change in viscosity means that now instead of the soap gently coming out onto my hand it's going to miss and violently spray onto the sink.

Secondly that's just simply DISGUSTING that you are most likely not going to be using a proper amount of soap since I know you're still probably using one pump.

If you diluted it by adding an equal amount of water to the remaining soap, that means now you have to use two pumps instead of one pump to get an equal amount of soap. It's not saving anything, it's just spreading germs because you think "eh it's enough."

So then I have to throw away your nasty science experiment and put out a new bottle of soap, which you could've done to begin with instead of wasting time playing in the bottle then half-washing your hands and spreading whatever nasty is on them Everywhere.

EDIT: It's happening consistently in a work bathroom, not at home. We have fresh bottles of soap stocked all the time, so it's not a "get through the day" thing. I've asked them not to do it. It's because people are willfully disgusting and lazy and think for some reason washing with soap-flavored water is enough.

Aristocats license plate

I had to use a real license plate frame as a pattern.

It does fit on top of my plate, but my boyfriend had to use a drill to make the screwholes bigger.

I had issues melting it, the masking tape actually fused to the back of it, definitely not my Best work but it works.

Remind me at the end of summer to give you an update on if it melts off my car. All Perler beads, but even if it does melt off it was fun to make. It's supposed to be 105 here on Thursday, wish it luck for survival. At least it'll be harder for vandals to get at than the tow hitch covers I was making; people were able to just snap those off where they were glued.

Imagine how Carrie would've been recast

This is not a serious post, just having fun here.

If ML decided to recast the Greenbush twins instead of just giving them no lines, how would they have explained away the change?

Would they have just not said anything at all? Or would Carrie's accident be a very special episode?

She couldn't have come out of the well looking different as she was still a toddler then and wouldn't have needed recast.

Wagon accident? Outhouse toppled over on her? Burned in a barn fire? Either way I think we are looking at a trip to Mankato for Reconstructive Surgery on the Prairie.

I get it's a thing for people in the community to be concerned with cutlery and I get it's a joke kind of, I'm not knocking anyone for it.

Just wondering if anyone else doesn't really have a silverware preference.

To me it's like a pen. Yeah, I prefer pentel, but if someone hands me a bic it's like "ugh, but alright."

EDIT: I mentioned in the comments but thought I'd add it here too; it's never been my intention to hurt anyone who DOES have a preference for spoons/forks, this isn't meant to be insulting and I don't think it's non important at all. AuDHD is a spectrum, some people have difficulties in some areas and not in others, everyone's valid of course. I was only speaking about for me it isn't a huge issue and wanted to know if anyone else experienced that.

Someone pointed out that the "ugh" feeling is a preference same way as the pen preference, which is correct and I appreciate having pointed out. There's things for me like shirts for example, if I have any kind of a tag I have a full on meltdown, so I guess that's the difference in my brain.

Sorry if I offended anyone, definitely wasn't my intention and I'd like to continue the conversation, but I definitely should've been sure to preface that I don't mean anything at all maliciously. I am at the severe low end of social and communication skills but I am trying to improve

Unfortunately, the owner of the non customized Fit didn't get to see my glorious abomination gracing their presence, as their car was there both when I came and left.
